“its what happens at Scunny when there’s a huge game and crowd”
Apart from when Cliffy equalised or we beat numerous team to win league 1 or beat Newcastle or beat Chester early this year. If Chester give it a go we win, if they park the bus it will be hard without Roberts. This game is about the mind not the ability – we are the better team. Just need AB to get them on the front foot from the off. Iron 2-1 after been 2 up and finish 8-1-1 formation ;-)

Exactly. This lazy idea that we bottle it in front of big crowds or on big occasions is absolute nonsense.

I agree to an extent with some of the things said on here. If you state a day and time for each ‘wave’ to run, you stick absolutely to it. You don’t change it on the hoof just because you’ve sold what you expected to sell in that wave early in that wave’s allotted time.

I expect they knew they were going to sell out and wanted to get it over and done with asap, rather than waiting round for hours at the arse-end of each wave.

The amount of “life long” fans that haven’t got tickets is laughable.

    Justice for the missing!

Kai Corbett was probably Shots most creative player once he came on but you have to wonder why he was a sub in a middling to poor National League side.

I thought he was ok (he had a moment or two) but in general was a little bit anonymous, to be honest.

    I liked him.

Me too in general. I was talking about yesterday’s match, though.

Interesting to see Kai Corbett playing for Aldershot, he’s out of contract now.

He was also reasonable enough, though a little anonymous.

Disclaimer: Shrimpton’s performance could have been entirely down to the way Spennymoor were set up to play. He’s clearly a decent footballer but I would just like to see him with more aggressive intent (same as I would like to see Scales and Rowley with the same).

Wasn’t it Rowing that gave the DRE to Cardiff on the final day of the (93?) season?
Always remember my Dad not being particularly complimentary about him after that.

It was the 1992/93 season. Handing over the home end was insulting. Not sure it was entirely down to Don Rowing.
It was Tom Belton’s decision wasn’t it?

£300 k Loss !!!! Would the Club have to foot the bill if that’s true.?

Speculation around the success or not of the Stadium Weakender is pretty inevitable as nobody knows the structure of the deal – whether Zanetti has paid a fee for use of the facilities and the event costs are his, or whether it’s all the Club’s financial responsibility and he’s a glamorous figure hired in to front for the CEO / Board’s folly. I suspect it is close to make or break time for certain people.

This is one gig that will go down in the annals of history as being a total clusterfook .. its got disaster written all over it especially now Kieth Harris and Orville have pulled out due to bird flu.

I just hope the Club is indemnified against disaster and Zanetti is carrying the financial can. If it IS a disaster, there will surely be a post-mortem and we will be able to see which Club official is responsible for bringing such disaster so close to our door.

Would be nice Apollo, but some want to puff their chests out first which is more important. And I’m just a fan like everyone else but don’t tolerate spoofers.

    “Spoofers” ..?

Maybe everyone should wait until the Play Off Final is out of the way and the facts are known before commenting.

Roberts wants to go to war with the trust… has apparently banned the trust bringing new merch onsite as well as click and collects!

Claims the trust and other fan groups have no right to use any badge, past or present.
He even think using the term “Iron” or “Unity” is an outrageous use of the club “identity”

    Evidence of this?

Nice to see both clubs trying to be as fair as possible when they can.

I agree with this. In the past people have complained about free-for-alls, and yet now there are elements seeming to be calling for a free-for-all as structured sales windows “aren’t fair”… Grow up!

Difficult to answer as there have been some really special players pass through the Club, that don’t even register on the personal ‘hero’ list.

Reading through this thread again and – again – I’m led to one ultimate question. Exactly what does Hilton want with a football club? I don’t buy this local hero / doing it for legacy bullshit.

Public criticism/slating of players seldom has positive results in my experience.

I seem to think some on here have called for it from Butler this season, having been completely unable to understand the man management skills of deflection and not singling people out, to demonstrate loyalty and protect morale.

…to publicly slate his own players afterwards which came hot on the heels of his similar take after the Southport defeat, well I think he has only himself to blame

In the report I read, I didn’t think there was actually anything wrong in what Brown said. Nor was he unreasonable in his appraisal of where the team messed up, and he wasn’t personal about any individual player or vindictive to any individual player.

I’m really worried about who they want to attract to the club,I don’t want the kind of person who’s impressed by Nare Knuckle boxers anywhere near me or the club

I don’t remember reading that attendance is compulsory, nobody is forcing you to go!

Begging for a Hospitality ticket now are we?

The hospitality suites are going to look like one of those paint powder runs.

In all this we know for a fact there is one proven liar

Aye and doesn’t Awaywego love him, mind you it suits his agenda so it’s no surprise.

Has he got an agenda or does he just like being objectionable, and does he enjoy going fishing?

Artell seems a decent enough bloke to me and I quite like hearing him on the radio, but he really does have the air of only being a reasonable makeshift until Mr Success is appointed and properly kickstarts things. Don’t know whether any Grimsby fans reading this would agree?

This Stadium weekender as I understood it is costing the Club nothing to put on and they benefit from any profits.
Let’s hope it’s a better event than the last one in the 1960s which was as I remember a bit of a disaster and had a lot of the top bands of that era.

I hope the Stadium Weekend is a success, and so I understand the need to promote it in whatever ways possible. Zanetti seems to be a bit of a clown but at least he’s trying to make his event count, and I suppose we have to be patient with the nonsense. But playing loud dance music during the match itself was a step too far, and there wasn’t anyone sitting around me that appreciated it.
