Fans of league clubs from all over the country have been surprised and at times in sheer disbelief at the squad we’ve managed to put together, for the level of football we’re at.

I know football has never been won on paper but really by rights this squad we’ve got is so far ahead than the rest in this league that if we don’t win it, it will be one of the biggest balls up’s of all time.

I always thought Wilcox did the unthinkable when he had us limping over the line with the squad that we had at the time but if Dean can’t manage it with this squad, it will be on a whole new level of incompetency.

Let’s be honest here. The squad we’ve assembled now would more than likely finish top half at the league above and would compete well so there’s no excuses to be had now.

This squad is a million miles away from last season and is probably the strongest it’s been for quite a while.

I was thinking the same thing. Hilton is racking up the sponsors. Why would sponsors get on board in sponsoring a ground there was so much uncertainty over ?

On a more serious note if Dean can’t manage it with this squad, including the 3 more who are due in, he needs to retire from football management.

Dean can’t pull it off with this squad he’s done for because he won’t get a better chance than this one to gain promotion from this league.

Cliff we have Boyce, Ethan Young who probably won’t get much of a look in “probably send him out on loan”. Evans and Kouogun you would have thought first choice and 2 who can fill in there.

We only have 4 natural CB’s on the books and one of those will probably go out on loan. Hence why I think we need one more. Put it this way, we need another CB more than another LB, we have two of those already. They’re natural LB’s too.

Another striker is a must, as is a left sided attacker.

Wilson had offers elsewhere a lot higher than where we find ourselves now but with the players coming in wanted to stay put. Butterfield had offers too but wanted to stay due to the same reason.

Why another LB Cliff ?. Tyler Denton and Michael Kelly are both LB’s. Barrows is a RB as well so not sure we need another if we’re keeping Ogle.

In my opinion we need a left winger, another CB and a striker.

Foster’s departure was to be expected but didn’t see that coming with Butterfield and Wilson. Especially regarding Wilson staying. I thought he was long gone !

Another 3 additional players we are hoping to sign next week. Carver is rightly moving on. I can see a few others moving on as well to make way. I can’t see Boyce staying e.t.c

God knows what AA is talking about, we’ve signed 2 LB’s, 1 CB and Barrows who can play RB/CB. I’m no Carol Vorderman but I make that 4 defenders and a GK.

An interesting take on ‘certainty’ if nothing else. Think it’s called spreading your bets. However you don’t seem too certain about Dean.

Who is really certain on Dean after last season ?. Since he came in we got worse and it truly all went down the pan. I still think we’ll do it this season as we have the squad.

The little bit of uncertainty I do have is with Dean. I have belief in the players due to the quality we’ve brought in to play at this level.

Roberts comes across as a player who just wants to be part of something again and get himself playing some football. According the the interview he gave after signing he stated “I just want to get back to loving my football again” so clearly has lost a bit of love for the game.

keep him relatively fit and get him mixing in with the other players with some goals and brilliant performances along the way and he’ll be fine.

From what I saw from Notts County fans after we signed him there is absolutely no chance on this earth that he should ever be at this level. I can’t wait to see him and what he brings to the table.
