Another big win and clean sheet. Good news on Roberts not needing surgery. I read earlier he’ll be back in full training in a few weeks time. I just hope Clunan isn’t out for too long. Looked like we struggled when he went off, but think that may have been down to Shrimpton being rusty.
HMS piss the league is still motoring along.

annot believe anyone would question WGs astute match assessments. Shocking.
You have to take into consideration the two people who questioned my assessment have a combined age which would probably compete with jesus. Eyes won’t be the best, will they ?
Fantastic performance. Clunan, Whitehall and Denton were especially superb. Sembie ferris looked great when he came on, as did elliot. Nice to see Beestin doing what he does/did best in breaking forward and calmly finishing.
Special mention to Clunan though. I can’t quite understand how the hell he was playing at Kings Lynn last season and even why he’s with us this season. Completely ran the game from CM and you can just tell he’s well above this level. I know it’s only one game but if he keeps these type of performances going, he’d be able to play league 1 level and do a job.
I think he’s that good.
HMS Piss The League hit turbulent waters on Saturday but she’s hit full speed now, long may she continue.
Maybe Jimmy is a pretty decent manager after all ?
They’ve just got an ex striker back I believe. Red flag…
They’ve just signed Will Hatfield who’s a central midfielder.
Not on tour, would you rather I bashed Hilton instead ?
This all comes back to Swann. Swann ran us into the floor and between him spending ridiculous amounts of money the club didn’t have and his gambling debts, he then had the cheek to sign over all of the clubs assets to his company to give himself some breathing room.
The way he treated us is unforgiveable. I’d pick Satan over Swann. If it was up to me, I would have had him tarred and feathered him and paraded the lying pillock in the town centre.
Like him or loathe him, without Hilton we wouldn’t have a club. Swann clearly didn’t give a toss.
Why don’t you do everybody a favour and go away ?. Stop spreading your bile on here and go elsewhere.
Do you even support this club anyway ?

Yes. Proof of funds were shown.
I’d rather two strikers up front but it’s not going to happen. I like Scales but he looks more like he’s a central attacking midfielder. I don’t think he really looks like a true winger.
I’d go 4/3/1/2 if it was me.
Go with the same back 5. Butterfield, Clunan and Beestin/Shrimpton in CM slots with Scales behind a front two of Whitehall and Elliot. I would swop out Scales with Wilson to keep him fresh or even play Wilson upfront if Elliot’s not on his game alongside Whitehall.
Dean loves this formation we’re playing now and to be fair if Whitehall didn’t perform so badly and Wilson had his shooting boots on, we would have been out of sight before Peterborough Sports even scored their goal.
I hope that’s the last of those kind of performances we get from Whitehall because that was shocking.
Out of interest, where is Sembie Ferris and how long is Roberts out for ?. I know Roberts has got over his injury but anybody know how long it’s going to take him to get up to speed ?
Well Hilton showed proof of funds which went through Swanns solicitors, so he must have. If he didn’t show proof of funds he would have never found himself in a position to become chairman.
Definitely showed proof of funds. That’s a certainty because I’m sure I read a statement from Swann himself when he mentioned it. If you show proof of funds then you must have the money.
My understanding is that he’s waiting for Swann to sort the problems before purchasing but swann was reluctant, therefore Hilton never bought the ground. This could easily be solved if Swann just sorted out the problems but appeared that Hilton mentioning the things he was worried to Swann got his back up and he’s dug his heels in.
I thought Beestin was fairly good personally, nothing outstanding but did a job. I would have rated him 6.2 out of 10. On the result I’m not too disheartened as we’re creating chances but we have to be way, way better in front of goal.
Whitehall today looked terrible. As I said above, we’re still lacking firepower.
Did the same at Grimsby as he did here. Played really well for a period of time and then started losing interest. I went on fishy a while back and they said he was lazy.
I Still think we’re a striker short. Not just down to the strikers though as Wilson had a few chances as well. The finishing was diabolical, if we had our shooting boots on we would have been 3/4 up before they even scored.
Miles and Miles above them but we all know it doesn’t matter how much better you look and how dominant you are, if you don’t find a 2nd and 3rd goal you always run the risk of getting hit by a sucker punch.
I’m sure if we had say A Coalan Lavery up front we would have breezed that. Wilson needs to do better as well in front of goal.
I thought we played really well minus the ridiculous finishing. Elliot isn’t a lone striker so can’t see him getting many this season and Whitehall looks a tidy enough targetman but can’t see him netting 20+ goals.

The closure wasn’t handled the best from what I’ve read but it needed to be done. We can’t keep investing money into things when there’s very little pay off.
We only had 8 players in that age group and 2 of them already had moved to Grimsby. This is a pretty good crop of youngsters we’ve got now, so let’s concentrate on these and hopefully when we’re making progress and stabilizing as a club, we can then reinstate the academy.
Until that time comes, if we start inviting a number of released premier league/championship youngsters in for the off season, starting from next season and run the rule over them. If we find that 1 or 2 of them have something about them, we can add them to the group and have them all train together.
Why wouldn’t that work ?

As much as I don’t really have an opinion on Hilton , he does come over increasingly unhinged on that Facebook group – you could even say a loose cannon .
Not surprised at the shite flying at him on there. I took a peak on it not long back and it’s jampacked with overly emotional lunatics. As awaywego stated, I’m sure it was announced that it was closing in July so not sure how the players didn’t know ?
Hilton/White has got a point, if the group started with 8 with 2 already jumping ship and have had no funding for 2 or 3 months, it’s about time it got axed.
If we identify any young talent who we feel have got something, then we could just add them to the group and have them all training together.
We can’t keep leaking money like we are and sorry to say that decisions like this need making. As I said the other day, we’ve been run badly for far too long and it’s about time we bucked up and cut the crap.
Not getting enough funding and having to fork out for day to day running costs of something to the extent where it’s in a 6 figure debt just isn’t sustainable. In my opinion it should have been binned off when he was going to do it the first time. The only reason it wasn’t was due to Daws super plan and that was clearly a pup.
As I said, he broke his leg in November and will be more than likely loaned out to get minutes in. If Ogle or a centre back get injured, we have a player returning who is at least relatively match fit.
Spot on. Some people will not the logical side of the decision and will just moan for the sake of it. As you stated above, he goes out and get’s minutes and if we need him at least he won’t be rusty.
Good idea. Slap it on fishy, I’m intrigued.
Only problem is that you claim to know what he’s like but due to not posting what you know it leaves people like me in limbo because I don’t know what to believe.
People need to start to realize that this club has been run so bad for a number of years it’s going to take time to balance it financially. Now we’ve dropped down to this level we don’t get football league money any more.
In an ideal world we’d keep the academy and develop it but the money simply doesn’t seem like it’s there to make it financially viable.
What we need to do, is get out of this league A.S.A.P and get it back up and running. I don’t think many clubs have academies at this level. I’m pretty sure they have younger youth players but have them train as one big group with the older first team players.
I think we’ll win 3-1. Wilson, scales and Elliot to score.
Supposed to be a nippy creative midfielder with really good dribbling skills and technique. I know we have a lot of midfielders but we haven’t got that type at the club from the centre of the pitch. Butterfield as we all know have a lot of ability but not got that much pace and isn’t the most agile at his age.
Least he’s different to what we’ve currently got. On the face of it, it’s a good deal. When he isn’t in our squad, he goes to Ilkeston and get’s minutes there and feels his way into football at this level. I was hinting at the harshness rather than the ability.
3 points is 3 points and HMS piss the league has begun her maiden voyage.
A few thoughts regarding today though. Elliot isn’t a lone striker and never will be. If Elliot’s not shoehorned in on the right, I think Whitehall needs to be starting.
I’d also be tempted put Pugh/Rance in Beestin’s position as I don’t think he’s a sitting midfielder. Only one game gone though so we’ll see how it goes.
3 points is 3 points though and to be fair while Tamworth had limited quality they would be a nightmare for more sides at this level. You could tell they’d be horrible to play against. The pitch was awful as well which wouldn’t have helped.

Go support another club if you’re not happy with this one. As a club were looking to make a fresh start and yet all you do is spend your time peddling negativity.
Seriously, get a grip !

Bit out of the loop here but patrick is an Ilkeston Town fan, isn’t he ?
If that is indeed the case, what is he doing on here ?
There’s no doubting those odds. Tamworth will get put to the sword and HMS piss the league will be well and truly in it’s stride.
I do have a good feeling this season with the squad that’s been put together. This is one of those seasons in quite a long time when you can go down the list of players and not pick out one which is deadweight/making up the numbers.
Still think we’re a striker short but other than that we’re pretty much spot on.
I thought WG was referring to the 3 new signings that didn’t materialise
I thought that much would have been obvious. 3 additional players signing next week, blah blah blah…fast forward a week or so, no players.
Posters somehow forgot that.
Deerey is the only one of you who appears to not need memory pills. I urge 99% to not put your finger on your pulses, really there’s no need…. You’ll not feel anything !
I know it’s only pre season but you’d be idiotic not to be worried. Not the players because Dean has them now, if he struggled this season it just goes to prove he’s a shite manager.
Is that really Peter Swann or a wind up ?
You would moan regardless.
You’re nuts. We’re in for another striker regardless of what you think. Why we would get rid of Elliot I’ve no idea. I can’t see that happening but there you go.
Other seasons people have been worrying about lack of squad depth and now the same lot are worried now about having too much.
Is there a happy medium ?
I wonder if this is why those promised 3 further players haven’t signed yet ?
I can’t see this happening unless someone is moving on.
Why ?. We have 2 somewhat proven strikers and Poulter as the 3rd option. Not enough firepower.
