WGs every time you mention HMS PTL it goes tits up
It went tits up when we had players dropping like flies. All will be back pretty soon as don’t be afraid to get on board !
Thank god Clunan is back as he just makes everything look so easy in CM . Laws too made a huge difference…Smith played fantastic and Scales was Scales. Last time Smith was played in CM he looked lost but playing him further up in final third and he looked brilliant.
Add Beestin and Roberts to that mix and we’ll be firing.
is their a better group of midfield players in this division than Clunan, Butterfield, Scales and Law ?
No, and when you add Beestin, Roberts and smith it starts getting a bit silly for this level of football. I said right from the start that the quality of these players is overkill for where we’re at.
You can tell tonight just how good Clunan and Laws are and how much we’ve missed them. Beestin, Law and Clunan out all out once would hit a league team hard, never mind a team at this level.
I still think we lack a bit of quality up front but the midfield options are on a whole other level.
Beestin back very soon, Kouogun already training as are Roberts and Sembie Ferris. Only will get better from here on in and with our options when tired legs kick in and the fact we’re full time, I fully expect us to kick on and win the league.
HMS Piss the league will gather speed and carry us home.
Still asking a lot Booba with only Whitehall and Elliot as our only strikers. Our squad in terms of numbers is pretty strong everywhere else apart from up front.
You maybe don’t rate Bennett but you shouldn’t ignore him.
Hard not to ignore him, he’s ok to win headers here and there but will never score many, even at this this level !
We’ve actually got four strikers.
One is on loan at Southport!
Dean said he doesn’t want to come back as he wanted to be back down south so he’s as good as gone.

In my opinion fielding the formation we had been using up to yesterday, we had some fluidity and familiarity. I think ripping all that up and going for something completely different backfired.
As mentioned further down in the thread, with the talent we have at our disposal we should not be setting up with that formation in a bid to pinch a win as we have more than enough ability to just go and get it.
No offence to Boyce and Barrows but when Kuougun is out you can tell we lack any real quality back up there. Barrows looks better at RB and Boyce is ok for a game or two but not much more than that.
We could do with shedding a few midfielders and drafting in a better CB and another striker to properly bolster the squad. Asking a hell of a lot to think about gaining promotion with only Elliot and Whitehall.
Not too long ago we were cutting teams to shreds with Whitehall on fire but as mentioned with Clunan and Beestin out we have laboured. Clunan kept the ball moving quick in midfield and Beestin has that bit of quality to knit things together further up.
I don’t think the formation worked today at all, I thought we were far too conservative. I do however think we need to shed a few players and draft another striker if possible as Whitehall and Elliot aren’t enough.
Elliot’s injury didn’t help today either. Clunan and Beestin will help no end, I did mention we most missed Clunan weeks ago and a certain few thought I was mad but he was the one that took control and kept the ball moving.
Those two can’t come back soon enough !
On to todays formation change, I personally just didn’t get it. Why not keep with what we were playing ?
I thought we showed them for too much respect !
We’ll win 2-0. Law and max is back so that will make us stronger and saw clunan in the training pictures so we’re a hell of a lot stronger now.
Elliot and scales to notch.
North Lincolnshire Irons, Simon Elliot last week was on TV saying that there was was nearly 3 weeks to our next home game and that would give them some time to negotiate. Elliot said they would do everything they can to remain at GP.
They can’t keep giving update every 3 ore 4 days. I suspect nearer the time they will let us know.

You’re a million short Burney
I know that. I was referring to the 2 million he wants upfront because without that there will be no deal !
The 64 grapevine suggest he’s up for the bulk up front and remainder at a later date.
Hilton said himself Swann wanted 2million up front. That’s probably one of the only times he told the truth. If, and this is a big If, the council put that 750k towards it and the board members put 750k in, maybe the other 500k could come via fundraising and a grant ?
Maybe not. The truth kinda matters though. Don’t think it will create an obstacle either way
Now knowing what we know, Hilton probably brought that up full knowing he never had the money to pay for the ground in the first place and used that as a stalling tactic. As you said above, I highly doubt we’ll develop it anyway.
The most important thing is just securing it now and have it back in our hands.

Lottery winner is pie in the sky, we need solid investment, I’m sure Michelle and her board will be on the case, we are totally in their hands I believe but she is a proven businesswoman with a solid record, in Michelle we trust.
There are grants available too don’t forget !
I wouldn’t under estimate the solidarity and generosity in the football community. I’d like to think with a large section of the football community already knowing our plight and situation we find ourselves in won’t band together to fill the coffers via crowdfunding.
You take that option and add it to a potential grant and money from ourselves, I wouldn’t rule it out, Cliff.
Elliot was scoring for fun from a wide attacking position so it’s not where he’s being played. Elliot is purely a confidence player so I’d like to think once he get’s another he’ll follow it with a few.
Madden was somewhat similar when he was here. Whitehall is the one that’s disappointed me in recent games. I will however admit that Elliot wasn’t very good against Brackley. I still think to fully finish this squad off we need another CB and a striker.
I’d off load Pugh and somebody else and get in those additional players we need.
Sorry, not the insider… The Athletic.
Keegan not sure about but Botham won’t give a toss as he’ll be neck deep in those Circulation Booster boards. On a more serious note, in my opinion the only reason he bothered before was because of the treatment he was receiving in terms of free food and drink.
Not been here off his own back since, has he ?
Give them chance Rene !. Michelle only acquired the club on Wednesday.

Ogle fit and Evans back from his ban, so we’re much stronger now at the back. 2-1 to us.
Good news regarding the other players. Jason Law will be back training full tilt next week. Max’s injury wasn’t as serious as first thought so he’s only 2 weeks away instead of 4-5 weeks. Clunan 2, maybe 3 weeks until he’s in full training. Roberts is due back at the end of November. Beestin has had another tear in his hamstring so not sure. Sembie Ferris 2-3 weeks.
Chris Plummer gave the news in his pre match interview today. After match tomorrow we may be much stronger for the following match as we have a 2 week break until we play Chester. Law, Max and Clunan may be back.

Sadly the CCJs on the club will still need clearing and tax, wages and pensions need to be settled
Simon Elliot gave an interview to Andy comfort on Humberside and said the board already had all that in hand. Elliot was asked if they had the required funds and gave his answer.
Only thing that’s rumbling on is the purchase of the ground, which is already further than it was as Swann is already in dialogue with Michelle.

Michelle is deep in discussions regarding buying the G.P back and apparently going well. If the ground becomes ours once again, this will likely be the most important days in United’s history.
Over the moon.

Dean said the other day that Clunan hasn’t really progressed so no idea what’s going on there. Beestin has another tear in his hamstring so another 5-6 weeks. Roberts will be back January time. Ogle not sure about. Kougoun is out for 5 weeks. Law will be out for another 5-6 weeks.
October 3, 2023 at 9:13 pm in reply to: This saga is unending but I hope it resolves like this #274441Jason Herbert needs binning off for starters. I saw the video of him throwing Aiden Mccartney’s phone and then wonders why he was pissed off.
I’d rather it all wasn’t constantly raked over though in all fairness. I’d rather get everybody united.
IronAge Aiden Mccartney on twitter the other day said a fan consortium is edging closer to buying the club and Hilton is ready to leave the club this week.
This was his twitter post as of yesterday 2nd.
“Hearing David Hilton is ready to walk away from Scunthorpe United this week. A deal is edging closer with a fan consortium. Will be a big step forward in securing the future of the club. Still lots of work to do around Glanford Park and a future deal with Swann. #UTI”
Kouogun, Evans and Ogle missing and it showed.

Scales back and Beestin to come on for last 20 mins will add some belief. I’ll go for a tight 2-1 win to the iron. Once Beestin is fully back with Clunan we’ll be fine.
Surely Swann won’t want to be known as the past Chairman who destroyed SUFC and broke the hearts of our very loyal supporters.
Swann spent money that he and the club didn’t have and to offset the losses kindly signed over all our assets to his company. I don’t think he gives a toss how he comes across.
Including us.
Loss of Clunan, Beestin and Scales has been huge. That would effect any team at this level. They’re 3 of our best midfielders. Scales is back against Buxton, Beestin may be fit to come on and play 20 mins.
Sooner we get all 3 back the better. I still think if we get those 3 back and firing with Roberts somewhere down the line, we’ll be far too strong for this level of football.
You keep taking the tablets WGs .. those opto pills seem to be working great.
I wish i felt the same way ..alas i think we are fooked.
I was talking about on the pitch, not off it.
Including us.

No it’s not Deerey but at least we currently have a club to support !
