If they’re unattached to any other club, it’s not a transfer is it?
I wasn’t sure if we’re allowed to offer contracts full stop.
Save on his wages and recall sembie ferris and introduce Wilson into the mix. Not bad options.
We could also go Law on the left and Roberts on the right so we have numerous options to fall back on.

Kyle Finn for them who’s on absolute fire has netted 11 goals from CM and has a lot of interest in him. Who’s to say they won’t cash in and not get a good fitting replacement ?
Football’s a funny old game, as said about there’s a lot of twists and turns yet to come.
Personally, I felt we lost out in the midfield battle against Boston in the second half and that cost us.
We are lacking some serious beef in midfield.
As I’ve said previously on another thread we could have done with Pugh here to bring on to solidify midfield. Shrimpton’s not the answer in games like that against Boston.
It’s time when we’re up against it we would have done with Pugh to come on from the subs bench to bolster CM. Shrimpton came on and looked completely lost and just got over run.
I’m not a fan either of playing CM players as tucked in wingers. I find it far too negative and thought Wilson should have come on the other day against Boston.

We need to dominate teams and have them chasing shadows for the full 90 minutes.
I agree we need to dominate teams and completely outclass them for 90 minutes but it’s not realistic though, is it, rene ?
Agree with Apollo on this one.
Don’t suppose his wages are massive but I guess him staying or not is not going to determine us winning the league or not.
I wouldn’t go that far. Smith’s not been that good of late. Smith’s been influential so far but the season won’t solely hinge on him. Wilson has enough about him to succeed at this level. Ferris has done well on loan too.

Shame if that happens as neither are then likely to play much the rest of the season.
Sembie Ferris has netted 5 goals in a poor team so I wouldn’t write him completely off. I rate Wilson and think with games he’ll do well. Beestin isn’t a winger and never will be, he should be in CM or not in the team.

Far too much negativity after one disappointing draw.
Anybody would think we’re on a 6 game losing streak lol
Kelly gave them more invitation to advance
I didn’t like that sub at all. Why didn’t he bring on Wilson in an attempt to carry the ball up the pitch ?
I could see why he took Smith off due to fact he wasn’t tracking back but not sure I agree with the subbing of Roberts.
Jimmy went defensive and it backfired.
Harsh!! How many points has he won us?
He has to be joking surely ?
The defending was lax at times but it had nothing to do with Fitz. I think he’s been superb.

Thing is though Ferrite if we don’t buckle up as a club and become more sustainable there won’t be a long term. By all means install a youth set up once we’re back on track financially but we’re a long way from that.

Let’s not.
If you haven’t noticed by now, he’s a wind up merchant.
So what’s become of the “acquired” land off Warren Road?
Anne summers has bought the site and are looking to build a state of the art Sex Emporium.
Thing is with Elliot as well as any other striker is that he needs a run of games and least now he’ll get 3 non stop games. Up to him now to grasp the opportunity.
Apart from the fact that Scunthorpe United will be a long way back in that queue for anyone worth signing!
You’re right but we take whoever who wants a trial and see what they’re like as it does no harm. Include local-ish championship youngsters too.
Hilton despite being a con merchant did make one good point about youth recruitment. Hilton said at the time instead of the academy all we would have to do is take in countless premier league released youngsters on trial every pre season and run the rule over them and see what they have to offer.
Any of them impress then we offer contracts accordingly. No way is it worth the huge expense of running an academy in the hope we unearth a few more squad players.
On course for 25 goals this year. Sure there are parts of his game he can improve on and I’m not a fan of the play acting, but he’s doing the job he’s paid to do and sticking it in the back of the net.
Absolutely agree. You can tell some games just don’t suit him because due to his size he’s neither dominant in the air and isn’t overly physical so can be bullied at times.
Bit of an odd ball as he appears to be a diminutive poacher striker stuck in target man type body. To be fair to him he’s scoring and is joint top scorer do we can’t criticise too much.
Awful watch but Jimmy had a plan B for that awful pitch.
Is he learning, after all ?
It hasn’t been confirmed that Smith is staying so Tom Pugh may get recalled as I am sure budget constraints may be in force
Sembie Ferris will be recalled as a direct replacement. Pugh has his strengths but his blistering wing play isn’t one of them. On a more serious note Ferris has netted 5 times for his loan club and he’s in good form himself.
As for Elliot he needs to learn to stay onside because that’s embarrassing too, just watch the bloody line when waiting for that through pass, it’s what good forwards do.
I remember a certain Paddy Madden that had a penchant for being offside. Elliot needs to be more patient as he has the pace to out run anybody at this level.
Great for the lad.
Never seen anything to suggest he is worthy of being a regular in the iron shirt though
Dean made a comment on Pugh when asked about his form not long back and he said there won’t be many better CM’S at this level than a fully fit Pugh so he obviously rates him.
Gone down a storm at Hereford and they’re up to 4th so he must be doing something right.

Let’s hope they like him enough to buy him then.
I was thinking more along the lines of leaving him out on loan with the call back option in place as a replacement option for Clunan. I like Shrimpton but rather have Pugh covering.
Jenkins will end up going back to Leeds.

As mentioned above we weren’t in the best place at the time. Now with everything settled, with players back including Roberts and Beestin, I think we’ll beat these 1-3.
I will however say that these are horrible to play against and any gap in quality they try their hardest to bridge with pure shithousery.
I believe Robertson and Poulter could play. I agree with Cassidy apart from the joke inclusion of Stanton and the dubious Butler prediction. I was thinking Shrimpton at RB and Robertson in CM ?
We could do with another CB to partner Max to enable us to rest Boyce and Evans.
Roberts is getting there in match fitness terms and it’s showing. Roberts will get better and better and certainly shouldn’t be at this level. I would put him in a similar bracket to Butterfield.
I think Smith will end up going back to hearts come January but was checking on Sembie Ferris earlier and he’s playing really well and hitting some real form so wouldn’t be surprised if he came back and showed his worth.
Evans looks terrible without Max beside him.
I’ll go 2-1 to us. Law and Butterfield as the scorers.
I like width.
Cutting inside makes the (already) small pitch even smaller and you run in to more ‘traffic’Exactly my point. I know the term is out dated now but Roberts and Smith are more “inside forwards” than attacking wingers.
Dean did say he was going to freshen it up. I’m expecting Law back in on the left hand side with Wilson on the right and Elliot up front. Smith and Roberts are clearly both talented but they always cut in and come central which makes it that bit more difficult when teams sit behind the ball.
Expecting Ogle to be back in too.
To be fair she’s always bleating on about women’s game needing to be more on parity monetarily to men’s football. Annoys the shite out of me because she fails to understand it works on the money generated and interested generated which coincides with the money they’re are deserving of.
Despite that and the fact she tends to go on and on when she’s commentated on matches in the past, while trying to come across as if she’s reinvented the wheel, Barton is simply being Barton. ]
Not saying he’s right by any means but always take what he say’s as pinch of salt, he’s made a career out of being controversial.
