Well done Cass, I think you have just answered the survey for most people.
Was that the proverbial vote of convidence in the manager?
He kept saying he will put his money in to keep the club afloat, but isn’t that what he’s already done to amass an £11m debt which he recover by taking ownership of the ground, so in reality he’s just loaning the money.
I thought he was a businessman, he said again he inherited a £4m+ debt from Wharton which he didn’t know about, what sort of businessman buys a business with a hidden £4m debt, doesn’t say much for his due diligence.

I’m listening on Twitter
In my opinion Cox sounded a beaten man on the radio, he sounds like he’s no idea what to do next.
It was a big mistake letting Hurst go.2 users thanked author for this post.
Why would Cox walk and make himself jobless with no income, if he waits for the sack he will most likely get a handsome payoff, although as I alluded to earlier his job is probably safe as it will cost the club money it doesn’t have to fire him, and it seems outside funding has been pulled.
Shocking, even the commentary said we packed in at HT, just what goes on in the dressing room at HT.
Cox is clearly out of his depth, there’s no scope to change players so surely there has to be a management change although this will cost money.

There’s only one person who uses covid to defend the clubs problems !

I see the BS and windup merchants are at it today.
In fairness Cass I don’t think he is ever likely to say much different, although his summary of events is somewhat different to the impression I got from the match commentary on the radio.
Its like his pre match comment about having a good week in training, he’s unlikely to come out and admit it was a crap week.
As the weeks go by it becomes ever clearer that he has no idea how to improve things, unfortunately I’m afraid its time for him to go although as that would cost money I doubt it will happen.
Wow!
Have you sent an email to Neil?
I’m sure the 99’s will pass on the message.
18 will become 19!
And still no Taxi on Monday morning.

There’s little wonder the number of people posting on this board is declining if this is what is considered interesting to debate, I despair.
They are supposed to be professional athletes some of them paid thousands a week and are playing one game a week, it’s early in the season how on earth can they be unfit or fatigued.
If this is the reason for the current performances and fading away in the latter stages of a game it is truely shocking.1 user thanked author for this post.
Neil Cox “We knew they would change at half time; we had done our homework
He does his homework every week but it doesn’t do any good, maybe he should stop doing homework and just go and play attacking football.
If its a fitness issue then it’s a management issue, with the army of coaches and analysts it’s shambolic if at this point of the season the players aren’t fit enough, excepting the odd loanee.

Tactically inept and overthink things.

Definately a management issue who seem tactically inept.

With Manny back on Saturday and a much more solid back “five” a win will stop a lot of this critism a loss is likely to intensify it. Still not sure how we will score a goal though unless we are fortunate enough to get a penalty.

I appreciate life is all about opinions, but it is strange that all but two posters on here are pretty much agreed on most things contributing to the continued downward spiral in all things Scunthorpe United. The two opposing these views seem to have totally contrasting views that it’s difficult to believe they are not part of the infrastructure of the cclub or even tha same person.

TAXI for Cox.
No, make it a minibus to take the rest of the poor management team away.Hopefully Fast Cabs are booked for 9am tomorrow.

It will cost money to bin Cox, and there lies the problem, the budgets gone so he’s as safe as houses.
If he did get thee push tho, Charlton are struggling so Nige might be out of a job soon, just saying (I doubt he would swap Hampshire for a move up here tho).
Stelling must be wetting himself laughing when he looks at the clubs results and the steady decline since his chat with the chairman.
Our decline really is sad and I cant see a way out of it because the current regime isn’t working, the new players are really no better than last year on the showing so far, andfans are back so Covid can’t be blamed now.
I don’t think you can even blame young players, there are plenty around as young as ours, and at all levels, “if they are good enough, they are old enough”. Nigel even used to go on about how young his squad was and we did OK with them.
Which ever way you look at it the mess we are in is down to inadequate management both on and off the field, most views on this board (apart from two posters) tend to agree on this.4 users thanked author for this post.
He must only have the coaching manual left behind by Wilcox.
TAXI for Cox.

Leggy – quote from Google – When you say a player is leggy, or she looks a bit leggy on the pitch, you mean they look tired. The player is not running very fast, they lack energy, and maybe the fans can see they are running in an unnatural way.
After so few games how on earth can the players be leggy, they are supposed to bee professional athletes. What on earth are all the coaches and specialist doing because they are clearly not keeping the players fit if the manager considers them “leggy”
TAXI for Cox.

Certainly some strange decisions and tactics from Mr Cox, but he’s the one paid to make them and it will be his head that rolls if the team fails.
There hasn’t been any evidence of exciting attacking football which he purported when he arrived, he’s very much safety first and very wary of the opposition who ever they are, he doesn’t seem confident that we are better than anyone, it’s quite concerning with him at the helm.

September 5, 2021 at 10:19 am in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #213219Cox now has the players so it is starting to point towards him and a lack of tactical ability. His after match ramblings dont inspire confidence either.
Still no goals from open play!TAXI
It is difficult with ten men but that was shocking.
Tactically inept and unable to adapt, zero shots on target.
It’s going to be a very long season.2 users thanked author for this post.
Is there a new podcast on its way or have they been closed down?
As George Kerr used to say, “it will say in the sunday papers it was a penalty” so that’s it, it was a penalty.
