We are hostage to Hilton now, until he sells or the club goes out of existence.
My principles tell me not to go anymore as he is deliberately not paying people who are owed whilst paying for a team, which on paper, should walk the league. I don’t want to go and cheer that team, but if I don’t, and if lots other people don’t then the money dries up even faster.2 users thanked author for this post.
Apart from Iron Insider/Ironeye, I haven’t seen a single post on here actually calling for him to go at any point. Even IB just posts stuff about Hilton and doesn’t call for him to go. I don’t know If there are people saying that on Facebook and Twitter, I’m not on them.
If you read his statement from yesterday he stopped paying for almost everything except the players and coaches 7 weeks ago. People haven’t been paid, deliberately. Sorry, but that is wrong. How is this fair on the other clubs in our league ? It is basically cheating, and in my opinion is absolutely shameful and an embarrassment to Scunthorpe United.
Nobody is making him go down the road he’s taking, except himself. Stop being conned by all the bullshit talk he keeps spouting.

Right so the situation is quite simple if he decides to go the club is finished no money or buyer means no iron, I personally don’t give toss about what his past is I only know he has kept the club going thus far . I also believe he has also got by far the majority of fans behind him so I hope sincerely he ignores the keyboard warriors and continues. I might be in the minority on this sight but who cares!UTI

Dear David, this guy actually believes in you and clearly loves sufc, he actually wants to find ways to help resolve the whole sorry situation. I don’t agree with a lot of stuff he has said where he has referred to people that doubt you – David Hilton – as dick heads and idiots. But he is clearly a good, well meaning person and a fellow Iron supporter, are you really going to keep deceiving good well meaning people who just want to go and watch there local team every couple of weeks ?

Let’s look at the facts. This club has again got a team to be proud of. We was hours from folding. To those with negative thoughts I ask you to go away and support another team. We have alot to thank Mr Hilton for. We all have done things which we later regretted.
Stay Mr Hilton and see this through , dont let the shit supporters ( if genuine supporters ) win. You can be the Boston Strangler for me , but how you have transformed my club in such a short time is amazing. Who are we to judge, we are just the little people who pay their money to support a football team and pay their council tax. Maybe we have our own businesses and needed prompting by some helpful company to access a government scheme to reduce our rates, which we were also naive enough to actually be paying.

We were in big trouble in January and we still are now. Arguably worse with the GP fiasco.
Listen to his statement, we are being conned, he has always got a justification. He had to steal £68k of public money just to get by.
