A proper reply to the question of when the turning point occurred would probably get someone a masters in psychology.
I think people wanted someone to take over from Swann, and Hilton turned up saying all the right things, everything they wanted to hear. Then the steady stream of bad information starts, people dig into their positions, and basically people don’t like to admit they were wrong. Scammers rely on that, many victims of scams won’t ever say anything because they don’t want to admit they were duped. I won’t pretend to know what Hilton’s plan was last week, I can’t decide whether he wanted the bans and the leaked text comment to force the issue and accelerate him leaving or if wanted to isolate the 2 Matt’s and Greeny and it totally backfired. But I think a lot of fans had known for a long time they were backing the wrong horse and needed something bad enough to happen from Hilton for them to say they couldn’t accept it and jump off that horse. Even then I think a lot of people didn’t care enough until the club statement that Brackley was the last game at GP, the confusion with Gainsborough and the actual reality that Hilton was pulling the plug and, if he ever had any money at all, he wasn’t going to spend another penny on their club.2 users thanked author for this post.

Did he ever actually score a goal for us ?Ticket has gone now.

No worries MK, I’ll put a post up for it.
I’ll be there.
Unfortunately I can’t get to this walk or the match due to work commitments.
MK, if you haven’t already bought a ticket, I’ve bought one for the DRE anyway which you are more than welcome to have ?
On a personal note, I would like to pass my thanks to Interested Bystander for continuing to pass on information which certainly allowed me to build up an informed view of what was going on.
And also the people behind Ironbru and particularly the moderators as well everyone who posted screenshots of Facebook, Twitter etc, which I have no wish to join, but clearly a lot of this was played out there.
You done good.7 users thanked author for this post.
All the best to her, and the rest of the board.
Thank goodness someone had the guts and ability to do it.
There’s obviously a lot of work to do but Hilton consigned to history is a good start.2 users thanked author for this post.
All the best Jimmy, get well soon.
Rene, AA, please give it a break with all these different threads. I’m sure other people are the same I’ve got a few minutes before work to see what’s going on and there’s 6 threads updated overnight with cryptic titles.

I agree with all of the above.
Although Farewell To Glanford Park Unity Walk sounds a bit defeatist to me. There’s got to be a better title.
We can’t leave Glanford Park. I’d appeal for some mercy from Peter Swann if someone can get the club off Hilton.Sellars-Fleming on the bench for Hull City yesterday.
Does anyone know what our compensation rights, which we apparently retained, are ?He has gone up massively in my estimation. It was poor last season, he knew it, promised better and delivered on that promise.
He has been conned by Hilton as much as anyone else, if not more. I can’t imagine how he feels getting his dream shot as a manager then having the rug pulled out from under him. I don’t mind admitting I shed tears listening to his interview after yesterdays game. I don’t blame the players yesterday, they were out there for us and Jimmy and must be emotionally drained after this week.10 users thanked author for this post.
It is very humbling the donations from across football but particularly from Mariners fans and their club owners.
Hilton out. There, I’ve said it !

Just been shown a clip of Jimmy Dean on Sky Sports News today. I really feel for him and I think I was wrong about not going tomorrow. I’ve donated to the fund and will be there tomorrow.
UP THE IRON.6 users thanked author for this post.
Hilton has debased it using Herbert as a mouthpiece.

Can anyone still believing anything that Hilton has said please explain why ?

I already said in another thread that I wasn’t going anymore whilst WHAM is there.
The banning issue just underlines that.
I can’t go and support a team built on not paying debts, ccjs, unpaid wages, pensions, ex players etc.
Scunthorpe United are cheating the other teams in the league and I won’t support that on principle.6 users thanked author for this post.
I think this is the end for David WHAM. He hasn’t got any control over the situation so he’s blasting any ammo he’s got left with these banning orders.
For the record I am 100% in solidarity with anyone banned by Hilton and his simpleton sidekick Herbert.3 users thanked author for this post.
I take it someone has been banned ?
Is this a real ban or a Herbert “come here again and I’ll throw your phone “ ban ?It is going to be a circus until Hilton has gone. The Herbert character is out of control.
It is at the stage now where at least administration would mean some adults entering the room.Joe, you’ve glossed over the fact that all the problems you described are down to Mr Hilton not paying for GP, and all the unpaid bills.
If he’s got the money, he has decided he isn’t going to carry on with his original plans which you bought into.
If he hasn’t got the money then he never had it when he told you he did…..
All because a story has come out about his past that actually you and a majority of fans you described are not bothered about.
You’ve got to hand it to Hilton, he’s pulling the plug on things and openly saying it’s him pulling that plug and he’s still got the full backing of good people like Joe.The great shame is that right now the stadium still exists and Swann does want to sell it, albeit seemingly not to Hilton. If in a years time, GP is being turned into flats or whatever else and we are part time, ground sharing at Gainsborough and looking at a future of NLN and below, or totally out of existence, then this period – Now – will be the point it could have been saved, but it will be too late.
In my opinion, getting Glanford Park secured should be the priority, and should have been the priority over an expensive squad.3 users thanked author for this post.
September 21, 2023 at 10:23 pm in reply to: So. Either DH Has Put Loadsa Money Into The Iron or He Has Not. #273070Maybe use the £2million that was set aside for the new training facility.
Quote from the fans forum statement in May – “ A new training facility has been secured, however its location at this stage cannot be disclosed. It was described as an excellent facility and a further £2m has been set aside to enhance the current facilities to provide everything required away from matchday. This is to include a gymnasium, players restaurant, medical facilities and, hopefully, temporary player accommodation. A state of the art 4G surface will also be installed along with several grass pitches and LED floodlighting. ”

Vultures circling already then. Wouldn’t surprise me after that directors statement if players were allowed to leave by any means possible.

Yeah, I agree, it’s basically don’t give up on us.
The reality from DHs final statement earlier in the week – “We have no home, as the previous owner refuses to now negotiate and demands vacant possession, and prior to that refused to accomodate a standard conveyancing process.”September 21, 2023 at 12:46 pm in reply to: So. Either DH Has Put Loadsa Money Into The Iron or He Has Not. #272995Don’t hold your breath, I doubt that money is touchable for such things….
