September 29, 2023 at 9:02 pm in reply to: Top Hilton trolling by Ian Sharp on the donations page #274126I took a look at Scottish forums and found out Livingston have a new owner. Several failed companies on Company’s House and a history selling counterfeit items. Sounds eerily familiar!
Butterfield cements himself as legend status for that alone. Well done, lad. Hope he gets a rapturous applause tomorrow.

I believe Hayes spoke about this on the podcast and said that he signed before it went belly up and didn’t know it was going to deteriorate.
I see one of Hilton’s scapegoats has donated £1899.

I am all for unity between fans, but Herbert has utterly debased himself. If we are to have a phoenix club he should be kept a long way from it or we will get division.

I mean Gainsborough said so at the time, so how was I supposed to know otherwise?
Thanks for your worthwhile contribution. I just liked a post of yours. Does that make it a love in?
I don’t blame anyone for believing and hoping for the best, but among the sensationalist stuff, the multitude of failed businesses were real red flags. From that point I was wary, and my concerns only grew, especially as such concerns were not met with understanding from Hilton, but derision.

Thanks. It’s sad that we’re here again for the second time in a year.
I felt quite sad listening to him say he wanted to believe in Hilton on Sports Talk. Such good meaning betrayed by one man’s pettiness and a whole lot more. Shame on you, Hilton.

An interesting listen so far. One interesting thing I have heard from Stuart Maw is that he feels like it’s the death today. I get that, but it’s interesting in that I had that two weeks ago and now I am left with sorrow now. The anger has gone and it wasn’t unexpected for me.
The stuff he said was deluded, but I feel for those who have been conned.

David Pillock?
I was joking, but some seem to be thinking along these lines:
We all deserve umpteen chances after saying you’ll change, while not changing behaviour.

Well, there goes honest Dave’s previous argument that we had a plan B sorted and approved by the league, seemingly. No doubt this is the fault of Matt Ellis, Gainsborough, Matt Slater and all the other villains trying to do him down.

Just like the supporter cap and so many other things. All these horrendous lies against honest Dave end up coming true.
Dave right now:
Thanks Dave, thanks Pete. Both of you have destroyed this club.
I am pleased Deerey changed the title to something more respectful.
I get concerns from JI about keeping civil no matter what. Two wrongs don’t make a right. It’s an emotional time and many will have said harsh words as a result, myself included. I am trying to bear that in mind after last fortnight’s drama. I do want there to be unity and I am pleased Hilton backers have realised the bans are out of order.
I realise many don’t use social media, so won’t have seen the comments on there. However, I think frustrations at abuse from Hilton fans there has bled into the reactions from some of us on here. There has been a laser focus on the behaviour of Hilton critics, but very little compared to the behaviour of those against us from some quarters, as burners gave death threats, doxxes and slander. Mostly from elsewhere; that Facebook group has fewer JIs calling for better behaviour. Hilton joined in with such slander and stoking division. His most ardent fans joined in and felt emboldened. Yet the comments on here has mostly been nothing more than concern, even if it is pervasive. That is not worthy of abuse. For there to be unity, it has to be both ways. I want to see less of the club killer accusations and character assassinations. I would like to see no I told you sos. Unfortunately I have seen some of that return since Monday, and if people are going to be cheering on bans because they don’t like the views of forum admin there won’t be unity. That wouldn’t be the fault of Hilton critics.

Some on here dislike him, find him a worrying character, but the comments are mostly critique, even if strongly put. It’s not abuse, which is unlike Hilton’s comments directed at the site and fans. This is yet more divisive rhetoric from him, which has been an unfortunate theme for his entire ownership. He expects to be held responsible for nothing.

More evil journalists after honest Dave. They all have to be crooked for doing their job, as is the FA.

I just hope those on that platform who slammed Bru for their handling of Swann now realise how tricky a situation it is to manage ownership interviews.
Max seems to struggle, but maybe the others realise now.
There was a lot of anger from being made out to be wanting the club dead from their end, and they didn’t like what they saw as unfair negativity.
It doesn’t matter who was right, but I think there is greater recognition of the situation and worries with Hilton now. JI was right about the thread title and I think it would best to move on and seek common ground with those willing to do so across the board. For any Facebooker or any other fan reading, I apologise if anything I said offended.
If what IB and others brought to light was kept silent, we’d have just been blissful with ignorance. It would have, in all likelihood, come crashing down anyway given the nature of the character, as he has shown in particular detail since that Athletic story.

We can’t be having MK Iron budging in on mine and ironfromafar’s fame!
They’re back up.
And much of it hasn’t!
Problem is that the stuff which has is very concerning and now it’s too late. And it’s not because of those with concerns. There has been this laser focus on people for daring to have concerns, yet the worst behaviour has been among Hilton backers and there has been less on that. This has let to people, like Herbert, feeling emboldened enough to act as club vigilante against fans deemed not pro-Hilton enough.

I agree with the latter, but the abuse and damage has not been one sided from this board. Herbert’s antics, Hilton’s antics and many of those who refused to accept that people are allowed a different opinion to giving Hilton praise have stoked the rift far more than anything on here.
Much of the speculation turned out to have legs.
