What cliche and common topic to rant about do we get if we put an extra penny into iron414?
Fatigue sponsored by Iron414’s Cure for Insomnia Inc. Can’t get to sleep, then no problem with the monotonous tomes available for just £10 per post.

It took several years for Fergie to win a thing at Man Utd. It’s a good job they didn’t listen to RedDevil414 demanding he should be sacked in December 1986 because he’s a simpleton incapable of learning anything* and won’t change his playing style through arrogance.
*Granted, Fergie had pedigree in the Scottish league at this point, but RedDevil414 would be reminding those arguing this by saying there’s a world of difference between the English and Scottish leagues.
Today’s posts don’t really change my opinion on that.

Yes, I do see my howler of an error with my English in my last post. I blame my headache.

There does seem to have been an agenda from a small section to just right Butler off from the start, and while such statements about Butler are not the most outrageous ever, it does show a judgmental and coloured view.

I doubt the Goat will be invited back.

I don’t think Hilton observes these forums anymore. :-)
We are too busy defending as a team, to attack as a team. That usually only happens between minutes 50-70
In some divisions this would see us up in second or third spot, in this division it will ultimately mean failure, again. It is noticeable how every time we break it’s very hard, because there are few players further up to make forward passes to.

Aye, the club nearly died, we had nothing to be worried about. It’s not like a poor performance against Radcliffe or having a CEO.
Hurst gets the boot.
Take it that wasn’t gloating on the farsley thread Deerey by the happy clappers then, like I pointed out most of it was very childish.
Think it was mostly a response to the OTT doom and gloom from some others prior, which wasn’t exactly balanced.
Also, it’s funny to hear talk of ‘happy clappers’ directed at those who were accused of being too negative when Hilton was wrecking the club.
How long before Michelle decides the constant criticism is enough, sells up
That was the argument about not criticising Hilton when he was fleecing the club and some used that as an excuse as to why he left and stopped paying staff. Yet some of the same people are happy to go into criticism of Michelle, which they would have said was “driving the saviour, Dave, away” over a year ago.
Criticism of Michelle is allowed, but it does highlight the absurdity of that argument with Hilton (and Swann, for that matter).

There are some glib dismissals of other teams because their players are often plumbers, plasterers, builders and mechanics, as if this means games should be a stroll every time. We should be performing better, and figuring out teams who come to be solid and get in our face as Radcliffe did, but it will sometimes be a tough slog. It was for every other team who came down with pedigree (York, Stockport etc).
I don’t think people want Butler to fail, if he fails Scunthorpe fail.
I don’t think DeereyMe was levelling that accusation against others.
Maybe we were suffering from the off field turmoil of hiring a CEO and giving an unproven manager an extended contract.

I think the posts deleted had less to do with ‘wrong opinions’ and more to do with perceived insulting posts with language seen as beyond the limit, even if some of it was because of innocent mishaps. For example, IFA used a word that is insulting, probably through predictive text since it was out of place, and it got deleted as a result.

Bloody hell 2 posts Siderite and you think I suggest he plays an injured Whitehall, Really.
Fair enough. I had missed your referral to the previous post and sarcastic nature of it.

“Butler”! You bloody Muppet where was Whitehall?
Butler was to blame for many things, but not for not playing an injured player.
I do agree that Carlton was poor and we missed Whitehall. Also, even if he was having a poor game, subbing for a defensive midfielder was odd.

Ugh. Forgot about the scrapped replays.
I have tried to be positive and to put things into perspective, but that wasn’t good enough. Not by a long shot. Slow tempo, overly cautious, poor passing. Even if Radcliffe came to frustrate, it’s not an excuse.

I did see you also say that it’s “only charged with domestic abuse” as if pushing pregnant girlfriends off the beds, humilating them and controlling them in what would be an abusive environment that leaves them mentally distraught is akin to kids playing knock-a-door-run on Mischievous night.
He has not been found guilty, but the allegations are serious and there is no reason to just disbelieve them, so I would not want someone with those allegations hanging over their heads at the club at all.

There’s also the fact that Brad has served his punishment. Has Kevin?
Accuses others of sexism, minimises the allegations of him humiliating his girlfriend, pushing her off the bed etc are nothing and ‘special rules for the female variety’.
Given the recent news about KVV, I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.
I think that would be fair if we were not around top of the table. Criticism is fine, but some of it has been completely OTT. Yes, recent form has not been great, and the performances haven’t been good enough for a stretch, but you’re speaking as if we haven’t been consistently around the top for the season to date. If we fall away there will be (deserved) criticism, but some of it right now seems completely out of proportion.
We should be doing well with our squad, but it’s not going to be a stroll, even with a good squad. Last year should have been a lesson in that. Also, Butler is still an inexperienced manager, so will make mistakes, but it doesn’t mean he’s incapable of learning. He has his own philosophy, and seems willing to stick to it, but the last few games has seen a greater use of its strengths that were limiting us. Beestin is now being used mostly in midfield, and seems better for it. We can have concerns and criticisms, but we should maintain some grounding, in my opinion, and support Butler and the team first and foremost. It’s early days, it might falter, but some of the comments have been doom and gloom as if we’re about to be relegated.

Yeah, that’s bad. However, have they considered our plight? We’ve hired a CEO.
We have King’s Lynn, Chorley and Curzon Ashton in this bracket now.
I’ve been told he’s unlikely to on here (not by you).
