Open the bars earlier (any imposed restrictions?) on match-days.

The Licensing Act 2003 was partly to try and eliminate ‘binge drinking’ from our previous ‘stop watch’ drinking culture.

Get them on our premises eating and drinking our food rather than them spending their money in the many other local outlets.

If they are determined to have a ‘good sesh’ then they’ll do so before entering our establishment anyhow.

    Pre-Match Prep:
Friday nights at the Iron Bar. It could feature prize bingo, racing nights, pub quiz, karaoke, Scunny’s Got Talent, local club type bands, young bands whom might want to ‘rehearse’ in front of a live audience, open mics, comedy nights.
The ‘entertainment’ can be rotated weekly and could feature a couple of different events each week?
    I.e.
    bingo & pub quiz
    Open mic & comedy club

Just some thoughts on how we can be more of a community club.

    Thanks NI.

That sheds more light. Sometimes there’s no one actually to blame.

Just a pity for the travelling support.

On Saturday, if we lose at PB Sports and Scarborough win at Banbury, then they’ll leapfrog us in to second place.
We’ve 3 games in hand on them but we’d need to convert those to points.

7 days a week business… I’ve heard that touted many times.

    Here’s another idea.

    Young Iron Day Care Nursery.

    Morning 7:30 – 12:30… £35
    Afternoon 13:00 – 18:00… £35
    Short Day 8:30 – 16:30… £50
    Full Day 7:30 – 18:00… £60

Obviously you’d need trained, qualified staff and the equipment and environment to deliver.

You’d not be making, selling or repairing anything, no stock to check & purchase, no wastage to throw out, no shrinkage from shop lifters etc.

Day nurseries are obviously always going to be needed. Demand for places will continue to rise in the coming years.

It’d generate a guaranteed Mon to Friday income stream.

Ref would have probably arrived at the ‘ground’ about 6:30 to 6:45.
If it was waterlogged, why didn’t she call it off upon her arrival?

Away NLN games that don’t clash with PL games.

£180 for a commercial premise to show the game.

    Iron Bar holds 200.

    £10 entry = £2,000
    £20 beer (a guess) = £4,000
    £10 food = £2,000

    Income = £8,000

    Iron Bar = 200
    Exec Lounge = 120
    Restaurant = 150

    470 potential.
That could generate £18,800 (using the assumed expenditure above).

Money in to our club rather than the oppositions.

Chezzy have a good camera, whatever it is. Great quality video from there.
All 3 games are pretty poor.

I booked it with NLN TV at 20 past 7, so now watching Tamworth v Boston rather than waste the money

I’m going to message and ask for a refund tomorrow – as I’m now watching Chezzy v Woking.
Not my team, not what I signed up for.
I’ve got Tamworth v Boston on the tablet.
Seems you can watch as many games as you’ve got devices.
Chesterfield have just gone 1-0 up – good free kick.

FWHST would be for 14 (60%) of the 23 games… obviously a tad more than a half season.

You could do 12 if you wanted to get closer to the actual half season figure – 6 fixtures up to end of Oct and 6 fixtures from beginning of March.

    How about a FWHST?

A Fair Weather Half Season Ticket for those whom don’t like the cold, dark, wet winter Saturday afternoons.
First 7 home games of season
    Plus
Last 7 home games of season.
Do a bit of ‘dizzy’ (discount) to make it VFM.

    Record Highest NLN Attendance
    7,488
    21 May 2022
    York City v Boston United

Let’s mark our short stay in the NLN by setting a new highest attendance record.

Sat 13th April – we MUST sell every seat as it’s our last home game of the season and we can celebrate winning the league in front of a capacity New Show Ground.

Other potential games (to tie in with pay days) could be:

Sat 3rd Feb v Rushall Olympic
Sat 2nd March v Chester FC

Let’s celebrate the rebirth of Christ and our Club:

Fri 29th March (Good Friday) v Kings Lynn Town

Plenty of opportunities to leave our mark on the league.
Get the marketing heads on and let’s celebrate!

    Nb
9-0 is the largest margin of victory in this league.

    Highest Home Win
    Chorley 9-0 Gloucester City
    4th September 2021

    Highest Away Win
    Redditch United 0–9 Boston United
    21st August 2010

We can do a decadance (sic) of joy if we thrash someone 10-0

Are you up for the challenge Jimbob and your merry men?

An Iron for life – Life is Iron!

All red blooded creatures contain Iron.
    We are all Iron!
Iron is the most common ‘heavy’ element on the planet.

Pack the park – let’s smash it!

So, they choose the Chester game on 2nd March.

    New or Roast Potatoes?
He’s dogged, you’ve got to give him that.

Football Clubs are generally rich people’s play things.
No one gets rich owning a football club.
    Football clubs don’t make money.

Community clubs are exactly that, only of interest to a limited number of people.
A small pool of potential customers means that sponsorship will most likely only come from smaller local independent businesses – it’s a low ceiling.

The easiest way to redistribute wealth through the leagues is to rehash the amount of clubs relegated and promoted each season.
I’ve said that before in another thread.

    4 automatically relegated from PL.
3 & PO Winners promoted to PL.

    5 automatically relegated from Championship.
    4 & PO Winners promoted from L1

    5 automatically relegated from L1
    4 & PO Winners promoted from L2

    NL becomes EFL L3

    5 automatically relegated from L2
    4 & PO Winners promoted from L3

    5 automatically relegated from L3
4 & PO Winners promoted from NL

    6 automatically relegated from NL
2 & PO Winners promoted from NLN
2 & PO Winners promoted from NLS

You can’t hope to survive on whip rounds & begging bowls.

Wrexham and Notts promoted from the NL last season are more than holding their own in EFL L2.

The NL is stronger then many people think. Arguably stronger than L2!

I’ve being saying for many years that it should be EFL L3 with four down to (new) NL / four up from (new) NL

    Match odds:

    Darlo: 4/1
    Draw: 9/2
    Scunny: 14/5

    Correct score:

    0-1… 5/1
    1-1… 11/2
    0-2… 6/1
    1-2… 7/1
    0-0… 17/2

Bookies seem to think a 0-1 or a 0-2 to us. Happy days!

4 goals from last 10 games.
    1 goal from last 6.

1 win at home all season.

Joint bottom of the home league table with 10 pts.

The most frequent score at home for them is 1-1 (4 times)

    1-1 (4 times)
    1-2 (thrice)
    0-0 (twice)
    0-1 (twice)
    2-2 (once)
    0-2 (once)
    3-1 (once)
    1-3 (once)
    3-2 (once)

They’ve lost 3 on the bounce at home without scoring and have lost the last 2 home games 0-1.

    So…

    Head: Darlo 0-1 Scunny
    Heart: 0-0
    Gut: 3-0

The gut feeling is because they’ve only won once at home this season, haven’t won by 3-0 yet and haven’t scored at home for 3 games. It’s one of those weird things that you can’t predict and you end up saying “I didn’t see that coming!”

A wet & windy night in Darlo. It’ll be a tough watch.

Hopefully we will secure the three points that we so desperately need!

Fingers crossed that Boston can grab a point at Tamworth.
