Well Cordner may get a recall.

Wonder how confident he is feeling having been ‘hung out’ by his manager !!

    Why ?

Oh yes, realising the supporters may just be right. But on the horizon do not be surprised to see the 3 CB’s return because he won’t like having to accept that 442 works for us.

Quotes from the manager on the new scout:-

“He’s going to be helping me pick the first team players, then he’s going to be helping Russ (Wilcox) with the under-23s and helping Tony Daws in restructuring everything at the football club.”

“ He knows characters, he’s been around this industry for a long, long time”

Incredible and he’s only 23!! Let’s hope those young whippersnappers Wilcox and Daws feel the same.

So The Messiah has arrived !

Took him about 3 years to take over from Fatty Lawrence as fist choice. That was usually the way with young players at top teams. Was surprised when Iron midfielder Keegan went straight into the Liverpool team as a striker.

Similar to when they signed Ron Yeats, Shanks handed his education to Dick White – Dick was a great teacher.

Scunthorpe United sold him for £18000 which in todays money would be near £335,000. Liverpool sold him for £300K ( just over a million ) – wonder if there was a sell on clause ?

What would he have been worth in todays world.

They didn’t do too badly did they once they got a chance.

Ray Clemence showed what CLASS is. Gentleman on and off the field, a credit to himself, the clubs he played for and the fans who supported him. Look at that welcome the Kop gave him when he returned with Spurs ! Said it all.

RIP MR CLEMENCE pleased we could start it all off together. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Good to read 4 4 2 was evident – trying to reinvent the wheel does not work long term for us.

But the 3pts from Oldham will mean nothing if we do not win on tuesday. Because others near to us also won.

37 games left and our aim must be 111 pts from them.

There can be no messing from this game onwards. No place to hide for any player.

Get back to a stable set up and rebuild from it. We have to start with 442, we have to put square pegs in square holes. Can this be done with our squad ? Yes it can. Other clubs play 17 or 18 year olds because they have to, we have to. For one Charlie Barks CB would be fine alongside Manny for a few games while the others realise the team doesn’t revolve round them.

But the priority is getting the basics right. Trap a ball / Control the ball / Pass the ball with pace. Then players give options by movement off the ball.

Coco was well paid. Hence attempts to move him on last season. Still think 2 more to come.

Another defender and a CM leader. The 4th because we have lost Vincent for months.

Criticise players when they don’t perform in their OWN positions.

Both Rowe and Butroid are fit and have been for the last month. So why aren’t we trying to settle at least one line. That line is in a 4 4 2. I fully endorse a youth policy. But they have to be of a good standard and I don’t believe some of these are coping well with full time coaching and expectations.

We are at it again squares in round holes and opponents do their homework and know where a weakness may be.

Management on-field 0 don’t deserve a mark if you don’t put a RB where a RB should be.
Management off-field 0 – their master plan on recruitment, about as confused as you can get.

Having seen the team sheet it is abysmal.

So negative it beggars belief we can get worse, but we will if certain people don’t get a grip. Is this the plane – total surrender ?

3 for certain agree with the 4. A GK and CM vital.

The only last minute who could sign 2moro would be a keeper. Much easier to settle in. There are several experienced about.
