A cup game – yes. But more of a pre-season fixture that is important for the season start.
Will be several changes as we all agree.
Prize pot is £150 – unless we have any late comers.
Thank you for your support! Not at all Matt. Need to maintain the forums independence – I don’t think many realise what a vital support stream this is.
Good luck everyone.
All wins are important in normal times. But this isn’t ‘normal’ – need to be ready for the 1st league game. That is when the word UNBEATEN has to be the aim.
But best to them for the next 2 games.
You should get a message saying ‘Predictions saved‘ upon saving the form. You may have to save the League Cup games, then do the EFL Trophy but it should save them all by clicking the one button.
Having checked, I can see your predictions are saved for both rounds of fixtures.
On another note, all players will be entered into a draw to win a copy of Max Bell’s book. Winner announced Saturday…
2nd prize 2 copies ??
Well scratch that we’ve signed the lad who played against Watford. A German on a 2 year deal so I’m not sure who I saw a picture of?
Another forward though we are starting to look very top heavy
That was the lad who played at Lincoln. Yes he did play at Watford and had trained with us all week.
I see the trialist wasn’t British then. UTI
Certainly isn’t, surname does seem to indicate a link to 2 countries.
Did start to think dual nationality. Certainly a tall pair of strikers.Still some combatants missing.
Help the forum by joining the league – YOUR forum needs you, the funds are vital.
So Northumbiron seems Smudger confirms what I said ! That he wasn’t British.
I know where Gravesend is. But this player could have dual nationality – neither of them british
U21’s – I think that is what Mr Swann said
Sadly no name WG – very QT. All I think I know is not British.
Mantom – not a chance.
Pearce – a reasonable shout but I think we have more urgent needs.
Nice, neat and sharp passing by Watford. Players making runs behind defences and the passes coming through.
That is what we must aim for. Keep it sharp and simple.
The trialist has got the hook at Watford any namees
No. But not from these shores ( not Maltese I can say that).
Now we have Neil & Mark in charge any future signings HAVE to be their choice within this new salary cap roll-out.
If they are not allowed any say then will the new ‘dom vose’ step forward !
343 352 do not seem to work at SVS.
Basically it is 1 10 – all defend, all create and all will try to score.
We have some good untried players who were never rarely an opportunity by our ex manager, we have some good new pro’s from the U18s.
So I am more than happy to see how we go, I know that we have a management team who know the club that will sort it.
Well put Brianiron.
Brilliant podcast and I hope we can put the distrust issue behind us now. We actual have a management duo who want the relevant departments to have an input.
If we have an exceptional U18 why shouldn’t they be considered for 1st team action.
Cautiously optimistic.
you have got to praise Northampton, just shows what having a decent manager and coaching staff make.
Well put MisteronMick.
Was one of the few who showed that losing hurt, unlike the posers who took the money and did not care. Said before – 4 yrs work invested and then given away.
I think many said that about Jordan.
He has now. Don’t understand why not announced last week. Players knew on the 9th and he said goodbyes to them on monday the 10th.
It was first broke by an employee of SET. Charlie somebody, forgot his surname !
Charlie Wilson, he means well. Just being in the right place at the right time was all Charlie needed to fly the Lillis kite. Can’t argue with the accuracy though and like Cox, Lillis was keen to come back as recorded on a Bru podcast.
Patience now for the dream duo to work their magic and lets jump aboard this band wagon for one hell of a ride.Very pleased with this signing. We do need to patient because this is a bigger task due to the age of the squad and the salary cap.
Certainly passion will be evident and I know that all the players will get the opportunity and the ‘bottom lip’ attitude will not be acceptable.
Salary cap, squad budget would both be involved.
Welcome people. Going to be a good challenge this season.
Aren’t they lucky !!
Come on everyone, your forum needs YOU !
It really does, this really is a financial lifeline and Matt does an amazing job so come on get signed up. You also get access to the latest podcasts and reading comments on here and twitter they have gone down a storm.
Sept 12th is just around the corner.
With no revenue Portsmouth have stated they are losing £700,000 a MONTH !!!
Big signings imminent, brace yourselves
They must be tall then !!
Suspect these 2 departures will not be the last.
But arrivals could be more telling.
Whilst he did get us promoted it couldn’t have been more boring and he did get sacked by the club.
He might be cheap and a low cost option but I’m afraid it will be false economy.
Wilcox is not the answer although might just be tolerable given a dominating assistant, Lillis ?
I like that scenario.
Based on what I saw good luck to QPR.
Even as a free he is too expensive !!
Being high in a league is good. Gates would rise though if we were mid table IF people were being entertained.
Good managers admit when they are wrong, recently we have some who adopt the stance ” I am right no matter what and your opinions count for nothing!”
