Like CassidysTash – are we looking at a starting gameday squad now as opposed to the 1st 11.
Could be the plan.
Just paid my subs. Bring it on.
Good luck to him and can still play at this level should an injury crisis hit.
Met Trevor many times over the years through local leagues. Scunthorpe through and through and sad to read he had passed away. He will not be forgotten. RIP Mr Wells.
Joined Kidderminster this morning.
Captain – Michael Clunan.
They say Billy Whizz is signing for Bradford City.
June 5, 2023 at 9:32 pm in reply to: Is There Any Proof That There Are Swann Mouthpieces on This Site? #263846There has to be someone watching and reporting to The EGO.
The proof [- how many people in the past suffered Solicitors Letters regarding comments on the forum ?
That is why people should watch what they say. If you don’t have documentary evidence to back up your statement then please be wary.
Made some good progress with this over the weekend, will tally up in the morning and put a list of contributors below!
Sounds promising. Certainly hope some of the missing return as they were missed.
Just to say again this is to help the admin of this Fans Forum, being totally independent. All site users are really valued, hope you value Matts hard work. I certainly do.

Hi Matt.
Great news. Will do the usual way. Cheers. Bring it on NLN perhaps my sometimes optimistic and some of sheer bravado may actually come good.

Really enjoyed it again. Looking forward to doing it again if SST can fit it into his hectic schedule.
Have a good close season everyone, plenty of challenges in NLN that is for sure.

15k is insulting, especially considering numerous clubs have been tracking him. 100k is about fair.
100K plus an array of add-ons will be good business. And now the club have revealed that an offer has been made others will act I am sure.
15K should be a monthly loan fee.
Hallam now signed for Ilkeston for next season, good luck Jordan hope it works out for you.
Yes good luck to him and also wish him the best, hope injury free as well.

Remember of course we don’t know yet if any under contract will actually be here to start the season.
There was never any point of an interview with Mr Swann – you only got his version and how do you challenge when you don’t know a thing.

Just to remind Quibell Park is not owned by NLC – it is subject to very legally tight Deeds of Covenants.
Lord Quibell was very clever and a former borough solicitor told me it would cost a fortune to try to over turn and they would not succeed. Would have thought must be still available to members of the public.
Since giving away Kyle Wootton who has been recruited that was as good as him ? Will Swann wasted a fortune recruiting players nowhere is equal.
Paddy Madden – another driven out because someone had to show how powerful they were. And we never stopped paying after this.

Having had 17 games and failed to develop anything he will be at the level he knows.
I expect nothing other than going to win every game from season start to its finish. Normally say 12 games before a decision needs making. But in this case 6 maximum. Tough world !!

Playing at Spalding has benefitted him. Regular games at a tougher level helps develop. I hope those offered all stay, they will have great opportunities next season as we rebuild.

May 2, 2023 at 1:32 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261492The coaching aspect is a good point. We’ve had players look utter dross or bang average and go on to significantly improve elsewhere. Hill/Hurst in particular are good football league managers, why could they not turn the tide?
Our failures are systemic and pass from one manager to the next and one group of players to the next. Hopefully Hilton can change the culture at the club; No mean feat.

Hurst – saw his attitude on 2 occasions once when watching the academy at Winterton and then watching the U23’s at Birch Park, Bottesford Town. Was shocked at what I saw. And then it seems he upset Mr EGO.With Keith Hill – like many thought good choice but quickly realised a disaster was on the cards !
I’m predicting that Dean will play the U18s and we find out they were the answer all along. 7v1 win for the Iron!!
Not sure he is that sharp.
Not leaving Michael Nelson in control for the remaining 17 games. But he knows that now.
But I don’t think he realised how detested The EGO is and trust had been reduced to zero. I realise Mr Hilton needs time but he made mistakes – as I said Nelson, he was 1 and then the debacle over the Academy set up and then the U-turn. It was all avoidable if he had spoken to people first and come up with a plan. I mean some coaches found out they were sacked as they drove to Bradford on a sunday morning !
Let’s see what unfurls during the close season and the managerial attitude when the season starts. Because if targeting is in the thought processes from game 1 it will be difficult.

He had 17 matches with nothing to lose ! He could have entertained, maintained the stability that Mr Nelson seemed to be creating.
But the ‘nothing to lose’ became completion of a created demise. His post matches are as bad as Mr Cox’s and that takes some doing !!!

Let justice be served.
Has anyone read anything where he said “Goodbye” !
Never wished us good luck did he ? And did Will Swann depart ? That is based on the recruitment made to support Jimmy D. – awe inspiring was it not !!!
Cox ,Hill, Daws, and Wilcox.?
If Hill has anything it’s as a racconteur; Cox is alright, Daws spoke quite well and Wilcox too. There’s no comparison.
Hill and Cox should have been nowhere near the managers job !
Wilcox – not particularly inspiring but the players liked him.
Daws – one temp manager option too many.A U-turn would not have been needed if proper discussions had been held.
It is obvious nothing had been discussed with any coaches in the academy before the ‘it will be scrapped’ statement was made. How do we know this – well that morning the U15s were away at Bradford and a parent said the coaches actually received messages from friends about what had been said ! They had not got a clue !!
That was wrong, then you find out that to shut it down was actually going to cost a fair amount of money. That would have been known if the correct people had been talked to.
Now we need to see what the financial plan is to fund the academy moving forward.
So for me the jury is out on Mr Hilton.
We seem to move from one incompetent decision maker to another.
£1500 a week is a ridiculous wage and yet our new owner infers we wasted money, this does not improve the situation does it ?
Academy saved now, viable business plan in place plus support from the Chairman, I’m guessing the doom mongers will be grumbling about something though. Well done to the new owner for listening and considering a workable plan, not like the previous guy whosw word was law whatever others thought.
But did he change his mind once he realised to shut it down immediately would not save a penny. That actually was going to cost him.
Strikes me that no discussions had been held with the Academy before the original statement ! Which seems very strange.

There is no comparison Nelson to Dean.
Nelson had a mess to sort out. He did that while bringing in stability, a balanced set up and improved confidence despite losing players on what seemed a weekly basis. Dean had all that sorted for him – so he has performed poorly.
Messrs Hilton and/or Dean have loaned or got rid of players and replaced with some that would rank highly in the ‘Will Swann Book of inadequates’ – what an achievement !!!
