“HEREFORD boss Paul Caddis said his side will ‘attack’ their final league game of the season on Saturday when they welcome third placed Scunthorpe.”
Not meaningless to them then. If Butler decides to attack it could be a good watch.
There is no alternative he has to attack because it creates momentum.
Counter attacking theory is to fail. Give the travelling fans something to cheer for 90 minutes.
Waiting to see if they have devised a way for the trust to raise funds on a monthly basis that will yield a seat on the board.
Prefer any extra of my money going this way in light of the debacle with the FC concoction ! How long had talks been going on and who made contact with who first ? Even more wary hearing the possible stepping back of Michelle.

Well Mr Butler got his contract extension in October 2024, but can imagine there are clauses where termination could occur.

Release of Butroid was wrong. How many LB’s have we had since he left ?
Our managers then seemed to leave him marking 2 where their choices always got help ! He was a battler, stood his ground and never quit. Like so many we never develop. Hornshaw – one of his first games he marked out Iheanacho [a £25mill + player]. When he got released the comment from the manager was “You have been here too long” and no other reason given !
Charlie Goode, Kyle Wootton, Lyle Taylor – we are a gift that keeps giving !
About Dec Howe – I have seen tv footage but why has no one else shown any interest ? Perhaps he is one of those that is good at the level he plays at and was worth a risk.
Tapping up at least two of our players offering vast sums for signing on fees.
Not that they’ll actually see the promised money.
Are they daft enough to fall for it?
Apart from that is it legal to approach players whilst they’re still under contract?I think it is if the player is in his last season and no contract offer made has been accepted.
Rules seem to be different in such as the NLN.
Well this season we will never know what the outcome could have been and as yet we are still in with a chance via the play-offs should Kidderminster and Brackley get the right result on Saturday.
Just an FYI, Sparks is best pals with the CEO, apparently follows him round like a lost puppy.
Sparks has been a key man in terms of helping the ceo get rid of people and companies, as well as undermining michelle.sparks is apparently a bigger problem than people realize.
he has even be caught slagging James Moody off, questioning moodys motives at the club… which i think is fair to say is beyond questioning…
He (Sparks) may well be undermining some whilst caressing the egos of others early for a move up the ladder next season when there is a cabinet reshuffle.
James bleeds that club, his loyalty without question. Others now not so sure.
Just to remind people. When our vastly inexperienced CEO arrived he said this.
“Scunthorpe United have an opportunity to create
social value and they can do that through joy,
through the entertainment that they offer on the pitch…”Bet he wished he had kept that to his self.
In recent seasons we have had young players who deserved the same opportunity of game time that average loanees have had and even now players have been released and players no better [or worse] brought in !
What we lost was their love for the club that gave them a chance, now so many say some players do not seem to care. At least they would battle !
I have always backed ‘homegrown’ and always will. People used to complain about Lewis Butroid – how many LB’s have we has since he left ? When he was playing he rarely got help from the wide mid like others got.

Everyone says virtually the same. Cannot imagine the pressure she was under and you cannot carry that weight for long.
Best to her if and when.

Risk as a sub on Friday or have available for the last 2 – Mr Butler has a tough decision to make.
Caution and counter attacking should not be our approach, it is time to be brave.

He must be ‘chaffing on the bit’ – wants to do his bit to help win that title.
So good luck to him.
Said before “Fortune Favours the Brave” – we have to set the standard in these last 3 games.
Wins are the priority, no over complication – get the ball, make moves off the ball, make positive passes to the runners and finish the move in as few moves as possible.

Since arrival dialogue between the fans does seem to have reduced and that is how we ended up in a mess – disengagement !
The high profile visitors only there for the photo opportunities !
Unfortunately the gaffer is locked in a cupboard !
Have fun.
I like Fin and i too hope hes with the Iron next season (if Spenny down sign him).. could fell feature prominently for us in NLN after some of our current first teamers have jumped ship.
Fin has shown he is more capable when given a run of games. I want him to stay and get the same opportunities that others got that forced his loan but then they showed the bench was their only option.

The supporters have been let down so far – they had better get this right !
For one of the most sensible and reasonable posters on this site, I’m very surprised to read this sort of entitled rubbish. Supporters don’t “deserve” anything, our support is not conditional.
We’d all like to have steamrollered every side we came across, won every game, been 15 points clear and all that stuff. But if last season didn’t teach you that the division is harder than expected (whatever the quality of football) and that it’s a real grind to get out of, then you weren’t paying attention.
But it is made harder when someone is so stubborn they stick to a format that was not working !
He adopted the philosophy of some we can win and the others we will try to draw. A defeatist mindset.
I hope for the fans that we do go up automatically because the play-offs demand scrapping for everything.1 user thanked author for this post.
Having read Mr Butlers comments in todays ST it is what I expected !
We should not be in this position as simple as that. Feel sorry for all the fans who have backed requests from the club to get down and support the team. The supporters have been let down so far – they had better get this right !
Would be harsh on Fin to bring him back, not use him maybe just a sub, get promoted then release him at the end of the season. Never thought Fin got a proper chance under Butler and he will be gone at season end IMO, hope he stays at Spennymoor and does well for them next season.
Our budget may force them to keep Fin and give him a chance because it shows that he is more than capable when you see what he has achieved while Spennymoor.
So many times people write the ‘Fin’s’ off way too early and we produce nothing season after season and fewer younger players consider us as a career path. Loof at Kyle Wootton div 1 and comfortable at that level – us we gave him away.
Godden.
True about Matt Godden but even he said he was not surprised when he looked at those ahead of him. I had seen him help out during reserve games by moving into left back and he looked very capable, so could have stayed for that role.
We are where we are because of over elaboration instead of doing the basics correctly and keeping things as simple as possible.

Yes re Max and Fin for return, perhaps tough on Fin and Wembley with Spennymoor but this
club is the priority. It has to get promoted and if it does not then the buck stops with one person. From game one we employed the wrong philosophy and now they are must win games.

This my favourite so far and there has been some good ones.
All about attitude.
Won 5 from 6.
2nd Highest scorers in the division with 72 goals [only Kiddy with 75 better].
There is no option and no time for tippy tappy football littered by average at best passing ! It is a must win game.

Disappointed in club comment “as we approach the business end of the season” !!
At times from game 1 our leadership has squandered so many points. Should not be in this must win all 4 to ensure promotion situation.

Alan Knill and the squirrel.
Mr Knill, his bike at the side and the squirrel sat on the handlebars.
I can’t actually bring myself to watch it or Butlers post match interview.
Just hoping it’s all enough of a kick up the arse for them to better in the last 4 games. His post-match on BBC Humberside was full of fairly tough questions and pregnant pauses. He coped pretty well with it in what must have been a completely deflated state, and stayed positive. I like him, I hope he does well – but after Saturday the fear is kicking in a bit, I must admit.
I thought the Humberside interview summed Mr Butler up well – no further comment !
Thought Mr Butlers Humberside interview summed it up – bereft of passion and disappointment.
Fans have dug deep this season and 700 away at Radcliffe shows they are interested. Perhaps the manager and players should say if it is worth turning up anymore ? Do they realise they are playing for the gates of next season and judging the comments after yesterday people will have second thoughts.
