One thing’s for sure, he’s used to a relegation battle!
Coat of Arms of the Borough of Scunthorpe (1936-1974) which doesn’t exist any more than Glanford Borough Council (1974-1996).
Given a choice I’d go for an updated version of the old, circular Unity badge.
No whacky fadeaway shirts, no kits that look like Primark leisure wear.
Let’s at least try to go out looking like footballers next year.

Mischief making?
Seven second delay?
Martin Fry bought me a bottle of Holstein Pils in the green room bar at Tyne Tees TV Studios.
His best return was playing for Blackburn in PL2 (the U23s league)….
“Premier League 2:
After arriving on trial in July, Nuttall went on to contribute 14 goals in 15 appearances and gained two assists. It was after ten goals in seven games midway through October for the development squad that Nuttall was promoted into the first team, before dropping back down into the development squad towards the end of January 2018. On 12 May Nuttall was one of seven players nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Season. Also on this list were Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Lukas Nmecha and Harry Wilson. Also, despite his 13 appearances in the Blackburn first team, Nuttall finished as the Premier League 2’s second-top goalscorer with 14 goals, behind Lukas Nmecha’s 15 strikes.”
Nmecha now plays for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. He’s played 28 games and scored 10 goals including 2 in the Champions League. Nelson has 2 in 20 for Feyenoord. Nketiah & Wilson we know about.
Not sure what you can read into that, but Nuttall seems to be the one who’s lost his way.
Precisely. And they usually get left out or loaned out until their contract is up.
KDT the most recent example.
Can’t afford any passengers on next year’s budget.
Have we ever had a forward who was woeful one season, then prolific the next?
Can’t think of any off the top of my head.
Oh dear!
Utter shite player as per my post of April 10th.
So maybe the supporters’ angst would be better directed at at those who brought the utter shite to the SVS (because Nuttall is far from being the only one)
But of course they can’t because they’re not on the pitch. In fact some aren’t even in the building.
Thus the players missing chances, letting in goals or giving away penalties become the Aunt Sallys.
The pressure cooker has been bubbling up for three years or more. Nuttall merely used his finger to flick open the valve.
Nuttall has been under pressure for half a season. Our supporters for at least three!
Perhaps we now know why he didn’t feature much at Blackpool.

I’ve been planning that since Christmas’.
Even if Hill has been planning it since Christmas it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. Particularly if ownership does change.
If things remain as they are, with Will Swann still in charge of recruitment, then yes, it may happen.
Even if we bring in “seasoned pros” to add experience. If they are of the same quality as the likes of Davis, Kenyon and Bunn then I’d prefer the teenagers!
Also, if it’s written in a paper it depends on how the journalist has interpreted it.
Does he mean in the starting XI for the first game of the season, or part of the SUFC squad at the beginning of the season?
Does it mean those OOC are definitely going to be offered a new one? Does it mean Delaney wants to stay?
Not sure how he can say who will or will not be here in August given the uncertainty surrounding the club at this moment in time.

“I for one do not want these morons anywhere near the club going forward! they are not interested in the club and just cause trouble that the club can’t afford.”
Sounds like a description of our present board of directors!

Perhaps fitting it should be a draw, like our first.
“The game was halted for three minutes after tennis balls were thrown onto the pitch by angry home fans while four of them ran onto the pitch to protest to minimal effect”
Was that you and your grandkids Awaywego?

9 goals in 20 games on loan at Brigg!
But at the time we had better strikers in the building, like Bobby Grant and Chris Dagnall! 😂
Lyle Taylor was another we let go too soon. Hindsight is a wonderful thing of course.
“Tomorrow’s game against Hartlepool provides the club an opportunity to turn a corner.”
I think that’s a typo.
It should say “provides the club an opportunity to TAKE a corner’!

“The club will fight extremely hard to give the fans the quality and excitement they deserve to challenge at the top of the National League next season.”
Yey! Top of the National League next season.
Another hollow promise, or wishful thinking?

Will there be stewards with handcuffs in attendance?

Well just can’t run in those big clown shoes can you?
Oh to be struggling like Man Utd are!
I can concur that there has most definitely been a circus there.
Usually on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday night.

Fully agree Pat.
I’d add to that it’s not just about the money (although that helps) it’s about getting the right players and the right manager/coaches.
This has been discussed on other threads. Suffice to say recruitment HAS to be right. I doubt very much if this can be done by Will Swann and a handful of footballers’ agents!
And in that respect I’m a pessimist!
“Contains negative pledge.”
We’ve had a few of those over the past nine years.
