“SKY” if you please, ‘tash.
Had enough bother with the maroon t-shirts!

You’re quite right Deerey.
But there’s always something about a restaurant curry that you can’t quite replicate at home and I think it’s the same with home brew.
Mrs NI used to do the wine thing back in the 80s but demijohns bubbling away in airing cupboards wasn’t great once you had kids, so she got rid.
Never been back to home brew since but that’s probably got a lot to do with good wines being much more available and affordable which wasn’t the case back in the 70s and 80s.
Same goes for beer. So many microbreweries and independent “taps” around now that you’re spoiled for choice.
Now home made jams and chutneys. That’s another matter.
Don’t really like it as it far too busy.
Way too much going on with the stripes at the shoulders, the chain links and the sponsor’s logo. If the links were on the shoulders instead of those gash stripes it would have been better IMO.
There also looks to be pulling at the neckline and under the armpits. Poor stitching or wrong sizing?
However, I’ll wait until I’ve seen the full ensemble out on a football pitch. May look okay from a distance. Say ten miles or so!
If pre-season is anything to go by they are confused enough.
Let’s not make it any worse!

“That’s the sound of the men working on the chain gang”!
The modern conurbation of Scunthorpe obviously encompasses more than the original five villages Deerey!

Hmmm!
Why would the new kit have the Hitek logo when British Steel has been announced as our shirt sponsors?

I think you’ll find they’re International (USA & Canada).
If you want a true British lager TW grab a pint of Uncle Jeremy’s Hawkstone. Seems to be getting where dust can’t settle.
This thread is far too sensible for this board.

C’mon, give us a link!
Life’s too short and you need to keep your local pubs in business.
Ditch the Home Brew and use the network of local breweries.
Plus a 7th when you add Billy Chadwick!
After reading some of the posts on here I believe the lineup will be:

We’ve swapped him for Rory Watson!
So perhaps instead of getting behind our keeper we should all stand in front of him?
Rene, you started a Wimbledon thread on non football opening with a post on Sonay Kartel.
So presumably it’s okay for the BBC to air women’s tennis but not football?
I didn’t realise there was s PayPal donate button in the prediction league thread, so I’ve followed awg’s lead.
Might be worth having the donate button somewhere more prominant for general donations.
Good point.
I wonder if one could be put on the menu or heading?

The kits are still in China. It was supposed to be revealed today, alas, it now sounds unlikely.
Temu?
Despite the many deflections and distractions in the thread the current goalkeeper situation is unacceptable.
I am all for young talent being blooded and thrust in and when a young talented goalkeeper arrives I will support him.
Until then experienced goalkeeper required.
So do you think we could realistically attract one or more to the point afford one?
Any names?
Or on an optimistic note it could mean that our scouting has improved.
If you order 5 does it make you move like Jagger?

Did he play the ball with his arm?

It’s Catch 22 (no pun intended).
You need an experienced keeper, but you haven’t got the time to wait while he gains that experience.
Option 1. Stick with him and hope he learns quickly.
Option 2. Restrict his learning to training sessions and cup games.
Option 3. Ship him out on loan to get experience and bring in an oven-ready replacement. If one is available and within budget.
Or?.

Okera Simmonds, 24 yrs old striker “seems to be rated as he’s always come off the bench in every game”. Played over in Wales for Leek Town.
Leek is in Staffordshire not Wales. I think you’re confusing the town with the vegetable.

You know how the inexperienced gain experience don’t you?
Getting thrown in at the deep end!
Yep, that’s how I remember learning to swim in the small pool at Scunny Baths all those years ago.
Anyway, back to Chadwick. I see the lad scored the winner on his debut last night. Well done to him!
At the start of the year folk on here were complaining about Butler being uber-defensive by playing five across the back. Now they are saying we are light in defence with an inexperienced goalkeeper.
On the flip side we have an attacking lineup of Whitehall, Roberts, Beck, Carlton, Howe, Chadwick, Eze, Beestin and Dawson. Are they going to complain that he is being too attack minded now?
Whilst I certainly agree that we need to bring in another keeper and a right back I don’t envisage the shit-show that some seem to be predicting.

The fans weren’t stupid for wanting Butler sacked, they had good reason watching some of the worse displays than any previous scunny teams relegation and reelection seasons included.
List is available if anyone’s forgot them.So are the pictures of the team lifting the playoff trophy!

Fans know what they’re seeing with their own eye. They aren’t stupid.
Hmmm! You sure?
All will become clear at Spennymoor.
The ground on which Fitz made big faux pas in both league games.
“Dances on the sand”?
I thought the pitch had been relaid?
