This is a bit like the crew of the Titanic arguing over whose fault is was that they hit the iceberg. And whether it’s going to stay afloat or sink in one, two or twelve hours!
Man-made, natural or both (the argument seems to be over the percentage points) it’s happening and action has to be taken.
Where I do agree with Bucks is over the zero emissions deadlines. Unless everyone is going to start travelling the world by sailing ship or hot-air balloon surely this will be impossible.
Coincidentally, I was talking with my mate’s son-in-law last week. He works for Nissan and reckons that electric cars will eventually become obsolete as they are already looking into other methods of propulsion such as hydrogen. He also said that EVs are not as clean as some would have you believe as they still give off particle pollution and the manufacturing process is no cleaner than for internal combustion vehicles.
Perhaps that’s where the science should be directed, but it would seem that there is no quick fix for any of it.
And there we have it!
Precisely my point I-A!
You could always get some other schmuck to for it.
New scoreboard anyone?
When we voted for Brexit I turned to my wife on that historic day and said”If you think the establishment will implement the wishes of the British people you are in for a terrible shock.” These has proven to be correct words.
So why did you vote for Brexit if you knew it wasn’t going to work?
Things won’t improve for us fans until we start winning football matches. And that’s not Neil’s fault!
And as for the state of the ground. When your house is up for sale do you bother fitting a new stair carpet?

Not that it concerns us anymore but I’ve always said it should be scrapped and the League Cup should be for EFL clubs only (ie no PL). The PL managers are always moaning about too many fixtures anyway.

Not interested.
Another Mickey Mouse competition! In case you haven’t noticed, we are now a Mickey Mouse club!
Aye, and they’ll be promising the same again in the run-up to the next election.
But will BS buy the BS again?
It certainly is Groundhog Day!
Difference is, opposition fans take the piss out of us, not give us theirs!
If you’re going to watch us at Wealdstone, you must be desperate!

Seeing as how four go down, not two we’ve a bit more competition this time round.
Port Vale has never been in the Premier League BS!
The old pub quiz question:
Which club have competed in every division of the Football League (PL Championship, Div 1, Div 2, Div 3, Div 3N, Div 3S & Div 4)?
Won’t be a problem next season.

I know this shouldn’t have surprised me, but Daws, Mussy and Cox were all in the same Iron squad around 1989/90/91 (as was Alexander)!
That’s over thirty years ago!
I know the principles of the game are basically the same now as they were then, but bloody hell!
North Lincs Hospice for terminally ill football clubs?
Highlights the waste of space Keith Hill was!

To look at it the other way round. Do you think the likes of Cameron Wilson and Tom Pugh would be prospective PL players had they been at City, United or Liverpool?
As I gave said Gurnelisra, this government is shite, but 90% of those sitting in parliament are nothing short of being bloody clowns, have you listened to them on an afternoon on TV.
So why did you vote for them three years ago?
I distinctly remember you posting “Boris will do for me”.
Well his party certainly have “done for you”.
But the amount of concrete and tarmac have increased dramatically at airports and airfields on top of which the amount of heat they store has also been increasing. Just think of the London Underground, which continues to get warmer as more and more heat is stored through the system.
I think you’ll find that IS man-made climate change!
It didn’t cost £200m to find Foden or Rashford. The lads were out there all along. It needed someone to pick them out and a team of coaches to develop the raw talent.
The Manchester/Merseyside conurbation is a big one though, much bigger than Scunny’s sphere of influence so perhaps it’s not surprising really.
Bigger clubs attract better coaches (possibly because they can pay higher wages). Scunthorpe has perennially opted for ex-players. I suspect most lower league clubs do likewise.
Hence stagnation. No fresh approach or ideas. And that’s what we’re experiencing now, and have been for years.
We have been plodding along making no progress at all. And that’s the case from the academies through to the first team, via the coaching staff.
We’ll get nowhere without a complete clear-out, starting with the owner. But we all know how likely that is!

“by the way Northumbiron, your 48,000 figure does not include the 125,000 of them awaiting assylem to be granted.”
Yes it does! Read the post, then do the maths.
Then look at the fig for France and Germany. And take a longer look at Belgium with a population a sixth of ours.
I repeat “They” are not sending “Them” all over here, and we are not overrun.
Try looking at things objectively for a change.
The big clubs at the western end of the M62 do all right.
There’s a certain Man Utd forward presently sunning himself in Qatar that did okay coming up through the ranks.
Put Boycie up front and tell Dewhurt to kick long!
You are missing the point, because you still haven’t answered my question.
Is it to be a trade off of working towards zero emissions versus continuing as before?
I take it you’ll be going for the latter.
The Tories are doing a great PR job.
For the Labour Party!
Wirral Rubbish anyway!
“Terms & Conditions Apply”!
The number of refugees granted asylum in 2021 was:
France 137,015
Germany 132,680
Spain 70,985
Italy 43,550
Greece 37,285
Belgium 21,030In March of this year there were around 48,000 applications for asylum in the UK.
To say “they’re all coming here” is a nonsense.
