Looks like Sir Keith’s commupence to me. He paid his mate with influence for his part in toppling Corbyn and is now getting found out.Does anyone really believe his nonsense?
The civil service did what they were told, they cleared the guy the PM owed

I don’t believe him, but I think Corbyn was toppled because he led Labour to a shambolic defeat, regardless of excuses for that.

I don’t believe any of them and haven’t for a long time, a lot of other people feel the same way and that breeds apathy within our democratic system. Polling turnout becomes lower and allows extremes of either left or right philosophies to prosper. We are all fast becoming victims of our own stupidity, you reap what you sow, the people who originally fought for our voting rights, holiday entitlement and shorter working weeks will be spinning in their graves, the last few generations are a pathetic example of couldn’t give a toss. My late parents generation are the last true examples of how to fight and behave in a way that benefits the country.

‘the last few generations are a pathetic example of couldn’t give a toss.’

Indeed, and it’s getting worse. Take charitable donations in the UK for example – down £12bn in the last 10 years. 660,000 donors down per annum since 2016. A main factor being the young having far less disposable income and job security and older donors slipping off this mortal coil. Charitable giving is not a social norm anymore, like it used to be. Charities are facing increasing crises. Lack of trust in institutions seems to be a big factor, according to research.

Let’s also take into account that, due to the internet, most people now know that the people at the top of most charities are taking very lucrative six figure salaries.
The last time I was asked for money on the High Street I enquired of the young lady as to what salary the head of the charity she was representing, took.
When she responded, I told her I was on an oap.
    She did look ashamed.
And as for multi-million companies asking me to round up on my purchases for some charity or other? No. You do it from your record profits.
And don’t get me started on the BBC sitting on £millions of the money collected for Children in Need.

Whenever you pay for anything now even a cup of coffee there is a tip/no tip function on the reader you have to press before the card can be tapped, a tip for a cup of coffee, bloody no way.

Do they, or just another one of the things you’re bitter about? I suspect it’s no way near ‘most’.There are around 150,000 charities in the UK, big and small, not just the huge ones you allude to. Many address desperate health and social needs.

That’s the great thing about choice, you’re not obliged to do donate anything. You make it sound like a chore. If they don’t ask they don’t get.

It’s more I think it’s unnecessary not a chore DM people seem to want something for nothing these days.

That’s the key thing about ‘charity’. You’re not supposed to expect anything in return.

The coffee tip is a tip for staff not charity DM I jut don’t think asking for a tip is necessary for serving a cup of coffee you pay for that’s why people get wages. When I delivered heating oil I didn’t go knocking on the door after the delivery saying “ your oils in the tank now where’s my tenner” it’s just this bloody mercenary world we live in it’s something for nothing but it’s just my opinion.

Ah, okay, I understand. Confused the staff tip with charity donation request. I’m not keen on it either. They should just pay staff a better wage and take it off profits. Many restaurants have ‘service’ included in bills nowadays. Only realised when my daughter who works in hospitality pointed it out on our bill the other week. Saved me putting in my unusual 10%.

    Explain?
Or in your back to front upside down left wing world, is it ok for the rich to beg for money off the poorer?

BTW: I see my post got me rent free into your head again?
Two replies, or three, yo the same post?
    Lol

I might be inclined to explain when you can show a bit of politeness. But don’t hold your breath. Life has taught me to let certain types find out for themselves rather than spoon feeding them. No matter how old.

Don’t think alcy is far off being spoon fed these days, he’s only been back 5 minutes yet seems more belligerent than before, if that’s possible.
