You need wise old dogs as well as enthusiastic puppies.
In reality it was only 3:00am. Clocks went forwards last night!
Watched two ex-Irons playing for Chester at Blyth yesterday.
A chunky Alex Kenyon waddling around at CB and debutant Elliott Whitehouse, also looking like he’d put on a few pounds, jogging along in midfield.
To be fair, considering he’d only joined the club on Tuesday, Whitehouse had a decent game.
However Blyth were really poor and if it hadn’t been for their keeper having a blinder Chester could have won 5-0.
Look odds on to go down now, so probably won’t be going there next year. Shame!
With Jimmy rearranging the deckchairs!
You’ll find it a totally different experience to the old Bootham Crescent days!
My Chester mate has just messaged me with the exciting news about Whitehouse!
Off to Blyth Spartans v Chester on Saturday so May see his debut.
Second manager that didn’t fancy him. Interesting stuff.
They’ve also signed a 39 year old Ben Foster.
Rob ‘n Ryan must be splashing the cash!
One of my mates has two spare tickets with hospitality for the Notts County game. He didn’t realise when he bought them that it was going to be the same day as his wedding. If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place.
It’s at Scunthorpe Registry Office, at 2.30pm. The bride’s name is Moira, she’s 5’6″, about 8 stone, quite pretty, has her own income and is a really good cook.

Never been an all Manchester Cup Final in over 150 years. What’s the odds?
Farsley and Blyth are both in the relegation zone at present.
They both finished in the bottom four last season and only survived because there was just one relegation spot, which Guiseley took.
Not the greatest advert for youth development!
The weekend just gone?
Knew you were a Codhead!
Like the time we got beat 5-1 or something at Man City. We weren’t that bad and City weren’t any way near their current class. Fowler hatrick after coming on second half wasn’t it?
3-1 actually! I was there.
Andy Keogh scored and we were 1-0 up a halftime.
Battered cod?
The thing about being a pessimist is you’re never disappointed!
Don’t seagulls eat fish?
What do we know eh?

“I’ve found a new (to me) prediction site.
Last week they got 5 of 7 NL predictions correct.
I’m interested to see how they go today.”Looks like toney found it first!
Fylde have had money chucked at them too.
If they miss out this season (unlikely) they’ll be tough opponents.
Let’s see what Jimmy’s mix-and-match approach throws up on today’s team sheet.
WAKE UP BRITAIN!
Another well argued post.
The length of time that we’ve been drinking In last chance saloon means we’re probably legless by now!
Draw at best.

Should have made it £18.99 and made 189,900 available!

” I think you’ll find that being funded by the taxpayer is very different from being paid through taxes, although many would argue that the BBC licence is just another tax in everything but name.”
No it isn’t. You have a choice on whether to buy a tv license or not. If you’re liable to taxation then you have to pay it!
Unless you’re a Tory of course.
Does GP have an attic?
“That would be fine if the BBC wasn’t funded by the taxpayer.”
I think you’ll find it’s funded by the licence payers….
“The BBC is principally funded through the licence fee paid by UK households. In 2021/22 this generated £3.8bn. In addition, the BBC’s commercial operations, such as BBC Studios, provide supplementary income. In 2021/22, the BBC made £1.7bn through its commercial operations.”
Furthermore….
“The BBC is a statutory corporation, independent from direct government intervention, with its activities being overseen from April 2017 by the BBC Board and regulated by Ofcom.”
But as you have so many friends working there you’d have known that already.
Lying on our setee at home in Scunny. Watching it on tv (black and white of course).
Recovering from a nasty bout of jaundice which meant I missed the last two weeks of school. I had also missed the England v Mexico game as I was out of it for the same reason. I remember my dad coming into the bedroom to tell me the score!
For some reason, probably youthful naivety, I never doubted we’d win. Even when Weber got the equaliser.
Cue Ken Wolstenholme!
