On judgement day ,your mockery will receive just punishment.
Aye! He loves us so much that he’s going to punish us for all of eternity if we don’t love him back!
That’s not the behaviour of an omnipotent deity, it’s the behaviour of a psychopath!
All made up nonsense anyway. Nothing to see here, move on.

The first thing that should be looked at is that fabled “strip of land”!

Couple of Mackem mates who were at the Boro game last Saturday.
Said Hackney and Matt Crooks bossed the midfield (Crooks also on the scoresheet).
Remember that Bradford game? 3-2 with Toney (2) & Crooks getting the goals. Happy days!

From the IT Brackley newsletter:
“The Glanford Park Stadium has an ACV (Asset of Community Value) on it and we at the Iron Trust are prepared to activate the ACV which would give the Iron Trust until the end of February 2024 to either work with any prospective buyer or put together a bid ourselves. A decision on this will be finalised next week. We have been working with the FSA Football Supporters Association on the options open to the Iron Trust.”

There’s a thread of light relief and it never goes out!

Wasn’t the wearing of scarves around the wrist a Bay City Rollers thing?
When I arrived in Newcastle in 1971 I had of course a red/white scarf and a red beanie hat. As a naive Scunthonian I couldn’t understand why the less than friendly Geordies kept spitting on me and calling me a filthy Mackem!
Fifty years on I still hold a grudge!

In fact ban all supporters!!!
Or didn’t Hilton try something like that?

Off to Hartlepool v Chester on Saturday. I’ll see if I can pinch you a scarf Awaywego!
I was really hoping that this petty minded bickering would have stopped.
Appears that some people just can’t help themselves.

We’ve got three strikers in the top ten goal scorers for NLN.
Unfortunately one of them is at Southport!
Wars of religion in the 21st century?
Tch! Who’d have thought it eh?
Sorry, CMC – it just doesn’t scan.
Can only be ‘Chrissy Plummer’s Claret and Blue Army!’
(Please, for pity’s sake, do not put in his full first name.)Shouldn’t we be singing Edelweiss?
(One for the over 65s!)
it is time to stop posting about finances and let them get on with it because that is their problem not ours.
Get what you’re saying Mick, but the lack of finances during the last “takeover” ultimately became “our” problem.
But agreed, a lot of work to be done and the new team need to be allowed to get on with it.

Noticed Conor Townsend on the list too.

It’s a real shame that this didn’t happen back in January. Then we’d have been spared all of the shenanigans surrounding the 1899 club, acquired land on Warren Rd and the abuse on social media.
Swann still holds all of the aces, but I’m sure he’d rather be playing with Michelle than dodgy Dave. He’s going to save £££s on solicitors’ fees too, as I’m guessing the court case will now be dropped.
Sadly the CCJs on the club will still need clearing and tax, wages and pensions need to be settled. Let’s hope some of the money raised can go towards that end.
I’m not popping any champagne corks just yet, and until the club is back on its feet it will still be a very sober October!

That’ll be carbon footprint then?

There’s a lot of positives to take from this.
My great fear was that another faceless businessman would come in and history would repeat itself.
Having someone ITK take over is a step in the right direction IMHO.
Fingers crossed for a smooth transition.

October 4, 2023 at 4:37 pm in reply to: This saga is unending but I hope it resolves like this #274597I was being sarcastic Ironfan. I’m delighted with the news.
The gist of this thread has been don’t let anyone who supported Hilton to get involved with the takeover.
Do I hear the sound of tunes being changed!
October 4, 2023 at 4:23 pm in reply to: This saga is unending but I hope it resolves like this #274587So it’s suddenly okay for someone who served both Swann and Hilton to take over the club is it?
Ah yes! The plight of the eternal victims.
In view of what’s just happened to us when a match was replayed he may want to stfu.
Take a one goal defeat, it’s better than two!

October 4, 2023 at 2:13 pm in reply to: This saga is unending but I hope it resolves like this #274527Honestly guys you want to look at yourselves. The lengths of some of the posts are crazy.
What has the length of posts got to do with anything?
Seventeen posts on this thread, most of them lengthy? Fansy put it succinctly in the OP.
Dunno why it’s turning into a witch hunt?

So that’s Awaywego opting for a running fist fight along Cleethorpes seafront, just like back in the good old days!

Mark B is spot on. The fact that we’ve had a decade of pantomime villains to boo seems to mean that we are desperate to seek out the next one even before they have arrived.

You’re at risk of acting like those you are criticising.
I guess it’s what social media is all about?
