Should have been out of sight before the late substitutions. But for the ref and the lack of a proper goal scorer.

I’d have taken off Whitehall before the ref sent him off. The guy’s demeanour and body language was totally wrong.
When he got subbed he had to walk around the pitch and past the Iron fans. Never looked up once to acknowledge the applause. Compare to Dion S-F who applauded back.
Poor attitude.

Subbing Pugh for Wilson was correct. He almost won us the game. Taking Whitehall off when he was on a yellow and looking to mix it was correct too.
Taking off Sembie-Ferris was wrong!
1-1 to the referee!
Perfectly good goal chalked off for no reason after a PL VAR style delay. Wilson taken out in the area and HE gets booked for diving? Could have won 3/4 nil and we limp away with a draw. Frustrating is putting it mildly!
We did not shut up shop, we’d been playing like that since 7:45! And there’s no point in going long because Whitehall isn’t up to it. He just plods around with a face like a slapped arse! Clunan and Scales both put a shift in but there’s zero quality up front.
When DSF and Wilson got around the back we looked dangerous but it didn’t happen often enough.
So we’ve drawn a match we should have won, following on from a game we won but should have drawn.
And that pretty much explains why we’re not in Tamworth’s position!

Thought it might have been homage to Scunny Bunny!
How much of the £54 is going to Ticketmaster?
Don’t tell me. You left on 89 minutes and missed both goals!
Wearing the number 99 shirt!
Jimmy is falling into the Wilcox trap. Don’t lose and you win the league.
Didn’t work then and isn’t working now.
Did work then. The problem is that there’s only one automatic promotion spot in this league!
Apparently there’s a carvery double in the restaurant this weekend!
Just in time to face his former club tomorrow!
No worries, he’ll be back to part-time next season!
Thought this was about inflatables for the next “family fun day”!
At the level we find ourselves at we probably have to gamble on these types of players in order to get a bit of quality in the squad.
Butterfield arrived with a similar reputation but so far (touch wood) we got the best out of him.
Win some, lose some!
Prefer it when he does his Pub Landlord routine!
Find it strange that Tamworth are odds on. Would have thought evens more realistic.

Yeah, my lad and I were driving down but we hadn’t reached the A19 when it was announced on the radio.
Must have been well over an hour before Kickoff though.
My son reckons they wanted to get the clubhouse full of punters buying food and drinks before calling it off!

I had been watching both the SUFC & DFC websites all afternoon. I’d also been studying the weather apps.
The heavy rain was due to clear the NE around 18:00. The wind was still a problem but if anything that would help dry out the pitch.
As others will confirm at the time most fans were arriving it was just light drizzle.
Therefore I find it hard to believe that the pitch was in a worse condition at 19:15 than it was at 18:00! And it would have been far worse at 16:00 when it was hammering it down.
When the stewards told us it was off our first thought was structural damage until he said it was standing water.
From the Darlo report it sounds like the managers and players didn’t fancy it either. The conspiracy theories continue!!!
By the time his three match ban is over Whitehall will have forgotten what a football looks like!
The University of Life?
I thought there was already a nursery at the back of the Donny Rd End?

Crazy!
Some of the other North East clubs called off much earlier
The Heed cancelled at 3:30pm. Shields and Spartans both went ahead!
No real logic there!
Why didn’t a club official or local referee/FA representative have a look at 16:00?

So you believe no one set foot on the turf until 7:15?
Give over!
Weather was better than at 3:15 when Gateshead’s game was called off.
Was that you leaning against the barrier with a tray of chips Fansy?
Arrived ar ground to be told game is off. Ref made the call at 7:30!!!
