Make it L3 – with 4 up and 4 down between L2 and the new L3.

Actually it would probably make more sense to have a L2(N) & a L2(S).

This season it would have panned out:

    L2(N)

    Port Vale
    Mansfield
    Tranmere
    Northampton
    Salford
    Hartlepool
    Bradford
    Harrogate
    Carlisle
    Walsall
    Rochdale
    Barrow
    Oldham
    Scunthorpe
    Stockport
    Wrexham
    Halifax
    Chesterfield
    Grimsby
    Notts County
    Altrincham
    Kings Lynn
    Solihull Moors

    L2(S)

    Forest Green
    Exeter
    Bristol Rovers
    Newport
    Swindon
    Sutton
    Crawley
    Leyton Orient
    Colchester
    Stevenage
    Borehamwood
    Dagenham & Redbridge
    Bromley
    Torquay
    Yeovil
    Southend
    Woking
    Barnet
    Wealdstone
    Eastleigh
    Maidenhead
    Aldershot
    Weymouth
    Dover

Only 23 teams in National League this season, hence the imbalance, but a fairly straightforward split.

Would offer some gate-boosting derbies too, such as Torquay v Exeter, Solihull v Walsall and of course Scunthorpe v Grimsby.

The only problem is – would we have to return the trophy?

Desperately clutching at straws here, but I’d much rather be playing at Wrexham, Chesterfield and Notts than Sutton, Harrogate and Crawley.

Will it change anything – very unlikely. It may convince a prospective new owner that there is something worth saving here.

    This^^^^

Couldn’t be highlighted any more UTI99? I think it could.

    It pays to advertise.

Are they hoping to bump into someone with several million pound on the way down who can afford to buy the club?

Total shot in the dark, but I think the protest is more about how the club has been run over the past few years rather than about its market value.

Glanford Park Avenue would be a good moniker for a non-league club!

My question about being offended was about people who libel facing consequences and violent people being handcuffed. Trouble reading?

My amusement was at the thought of the guy who finds offence in any criticism of the club and it’s chairman calling out others.

    Trouble understanding irony?

Why would you think that Lee is going to be on the fans side? Swanny just given him a well paid job.

Party to the pay negotiations were you?

Composed several replies last night, but decided against hitting the send button in respect for SST and the site.

Have come round to Deerey’s thinking and have just had a jolly good laugh at the statement.

Hilarious that Covid is still blamed, and that the plea to “come and spend your money at GP” is still put forward. And that “I’ve done all I could” bit had me in stitches.

Sitcom gold. Particularly UTI99 asking if there’s anyone who’s not offended.

    Belly laughs all round!

So General Melchet has left the trenches and relocated to Paris, leaving Captain Blackadder and his platoon to go over the top and face the ultimate sacrifice.

    Baaaah!

I’m surprised any players chose to come here in January given the position we were/are in.

Anyone half decent and match fit would surely have had other suitors.

The odds were already stacked against us.

Too late to change the really important stuff. We’re going out of the EFL no matter what.

The question is will we be starting our National League campaign with new owners?

Or will we have a club at all?

Whatever our position it sure as hell won’t be a better one than when PS took over.

How about chanting “Lee Turnbull’s claret and blue army” for 72 minutes, then walking out?

Wind back a year and check out how many posts were saying something along the lines of… “it doesn’t matter who the manager is, it’s the chairman that’s the problem”.

As far as those supporters were concerned the appointment was more in hope than expectation.
