Quick summary for those short of time.
Everyone was wrong apart from 64.
Everyone is an idiot apart from 64.

What happened today was exactly what David Hilton predicted would happen when he told those present at the February fans forum that Swann had ceased channels of communication.
Hopefully common sense will now prevail though it is my opinion that we saw little of that in the 10 year tenure.
It would be great if personal agendas could be put aside or at least find different outlets for speculation dressed up as facts.

We are at home so one holding midfield player is enough. Shrimpton is good enough and mobile enough to do that job and play quick simple passes (ala Clunan) to get us going. Butterfield and Scales should be further forward as Ferrite says with Butterfield picking passes to the front 3 and Scales who should be making forward runs with whichever of the Danny’s gets picked.
Denton back to left back for me as he is more positive in forward positions than Kelly has demonstrated so far.
Sembie Ferris and Wilson to join the Danny up front. Time for a bit more end product from those two.
3rd Saturday away game out of 4 does not help. The Alfreton game will make it 4 out of 5. Obviously a Sinclair Z80 used for NLN fixtures.
We’ll probably get drawn away in the FA Cup the week after.
As Ozzy Osbourne once said “Of all the things I’ve lost I miss my mind the most”.

August 18, 2023 at 10:48 pm in reply to: 09/08/23 – County Court Judgement – £1,547.00 – Case No. K5AA1W08 #269799So we get to have a leaving party at the Scarborough game then.
Mr Swann would have to be a complete idiot to agree a sale without proof of funds.
Mmm.

Just found a site with NPL match details and Ilkeston only played their first league game on Saturday. 3-1 away win. Barrows played but no Sembie Ferris.
Jimmy said Roberts was going to have a scan tomorrow. He didn’t look particularly sharp in the pre season friendlies so even if he gets the all clear tomorrow it could be a minimum couple of weeks before he is starting. Sembie Ferris had a couple of friendly appearances for Ilkeston after his surgery but had no pre season games with us. Don’t know if he has appeared in the league for Ilkeston.
Thanks 64. Just needed the clue.
Very good.
I hope to understand one of your cryptic posts one day 64.
Today’s is another one wasted on me.Agree Awaywego the losing mentality has become well entrenched at the club.
We started very positively all over the pitch on Saturday but 2 or 3 missed chances and you could see the confidence slip.
When Butterfield scored that should have started the charge to finish the game off but I think we slipped into what coaches love to call game management mode. We might grow enough as a team to be able to manage games as the season progresses but we are not there yet.
Early days but against Tamworth and Peterborough Sports we created chances whilst Whitehall was playing. Less so when Elliott was on.
Whitehall is never going to get 25 a season but he gives centre backs a problem. We need more from the other 2 either side of him. I would start with Scales and Wilson until Roberts is fit. Also might be time to give Sembie Ferris another try now he’s had his operation. Scored freely for Peterborough at this level before he moved to us.
I think we will get 3 on Tuesday although I will take a scruffy 1-0.

I think we have seen some progression. Against Taworth we won an away game without playing well. Something we have not done for a long time.
Against Peterborough Sports we had more possession of the football than we have had probably for 5 seasons.
Ran out of ideas on what to do with the football but it’s a start.I have never managed to pay using credit or debit card. Always ended up resorting to PayPal which has always worked for me.
I did contact their support one time regarding the problem paying with cards but they just rather unhelpfully told me it should work.
I think from National League TVs poorly worded marketing that NLN Saturday games will only be covered during recognised International breaks i.e. when the almighty Premiership are not playing. From memory from when I used it last season the schedule does not appear until the day of matches.
About the same distance and travel time as Ilkeston. Surely there is a closer option with decent transport links. Doncaster would do nicely.
Where is Bucks with his offer of free PR consultancy when you need him?
I think you should be OK as Saturday’s games are not available for UK subscribers.
Only saw Barrows in the second half at Gainsborough at right back when he looked very good and the second half of the Burton game when he replaced Kouogan at centre back. Looked pretty decent then as well.
Probably brought in thinking Ogle would bring in some cash. Probably a good idea for him to get game time and full fitness. Ilkeston is as good a place to do that as anywhere else.
I must have got it wrong but I thought is was a disagreement over a purchase of the ground and associated land.
Following the Iron these last few years both things are understandable.
Didn’t see it and don’t know him but hope his world looks a better place this morning.
I think anither 4 or 5 NLN teams have plastic pitches.
As NI alludes to there are different levels of pitch around depending on age and costs. The one at Ilkeston is 4g and I was told only Liverpool and England (St George’s Park) have pitches of the same standard. Albeit on a dry day that one seemed to play very much like a good grass pitch – no bubbles or uneven bounces. The one at Tamworth is 3g and looks fairly old. You could visibly see the black patches of the base layer where the “grass” has worn away. Hence the bubbles and dodgy bounces. Didn’t look any different to the dodgy ones around when I played 40 years ago.
This quality of pitch has always favoured the home team. Remember the likes of Luton and QPR having great home records whilst having away records nearly as bad as ours in recent seasons.
Tactically Tamworth were lightning quick to challenge our midfield every time they received the ball. The first challenge was always a nudge rather than a tackle. Hence our midfield never got the ball under control enough to get passes going.
The ref gave us free kick for most of these nudges in the first 15 minutes but then decided to let them go. Too busy playing with his cards probably.
The sodden pitch was poor and I am sure it affected the performance but we were so lucky to be level at half time.
Second half we were marginally better particularly when Dean brought on Whitehall and Butterfield.
Felt a bit for Elliott because Wilson and Law were bullied out of it so he was ploughing a lone furrow up front.
Fair play to Tamworth what they lacked in quality they made up for with workrate and probably feel hard done by. They will win a lot more home games than they lose this season.
Always have had a soft spot for Beeston but he is not a sitting midfielder.
Great to win an ugly game though – not done that very often these last 5 years.
Shame the kidywinks spoiled the day somewhat with their behaviour. This could become a serious problem at NLN grounds not set up or used to dealing with big away followings with a reasonable percentage of dick heads.

This site claims to have live commentary of Tamworth games

Humberside are covering it. A tweet from them says it is on Freeview channel 721. Don’t suppose you can access that.
Had a look on the BBC Sounds app and the schedule for Radio Humberside suggests it will be available there.

According to previous inside information we won’t have any kit to play in, the new signings wont be allowed to play and the National League won’t allow us to play anyway.
After the last 5 years of sh1te wouldn’t it be wonderful to have to seriously worry about a capacity restriction.
Ironmageddon postponed again then?
