December 3, 2023 at 9:57 am #277844Remember, that York City match was the NLN Play-off final. Boston sold out their allocation and the LNER stadium was very close to a complete sell-out (I know because I was there). Hopefully we won’t need the play-offs for promotion and as such, we are very unlikely to see a sell out of the away end.

December 3, 2023 at 10:48 am #277845Believe that iron is only fourth most abundant element on earth. Hope that isn’t our finishing position
December 3, 2023 at 12:12 pm #277847Will sell out if we’re the away team Daz.

True… god knows what I read earlier – lol
December 3, 2023 at 12:27 pm #277849Iron is the most abundant element, by mass, in the Earth. There’s more iron than other elements if you include the mass of iron nuclei from compounds or alloys, but by element (i.e. pure iron) it is minuscule compared to oxygen, carbon or silicon. The number of oxygen atoms dwarf iron, but is so much lighter, so iron has a lot more of mass percentage when it comes to the Earth’s mass distribution.

December 3, 2023 at 1:02 pm #277851Got to find new things to talk about.
We love our new owner.
We like our manager.
We rate our team and players.
Our club owns it’s ground.
Nothing to argue about.
December 3, 2023 at 1:10 pm #277852I didn’t think there’d be anything contentious about aiding Rene with what he was thinking of, when it’s going nothing to do with politics or religion.

December 3, 2023 at 1:10 pm #277853There’s always the Herbert character to talk about, many want him banned, he made the effort to go yesterday so he’s not all bad, id rather ban fansy but they’d be no point he doesn’t go anyway.

Thanks Sid.
It was early and it was a heavy read on some physicsy/chemistryi site.
It went well beyond my limited O’ Level Physics & Chemistry.December 3, 2023 at 4:50 pm #277855There’s always the Herbert character to talk about, many want him banned, he made the effort to go yesterday so he’s not all bad, id rather ban fansy but they’d be no point he doesn’t go anyway.
Should be banned, and thankfully he is banned.

3527 Scunthorpe v Warrington 25/11
3477 Scunthorpe v South Shields 05/09
3392 Scarborough v Blyth Spartans 15/08
3392 Scunthorpe v Darlington 15/08
3380 Scunthorpe v P’boro Sports 12/08Great work guys!
Enjoy!December 4, 2023 at 7:05 am #277861The disparity between the haves and have nots in football is alarming.
Last seasons least well supported team in NLN (Peterborough Sports) were watched by a mere 8,221 people in total over their 23 home games.
Swindon, who sit just outside the play offs in L2 are averaging 8,850 per game this season.
I know that a small percentage of transfer fees are collected and redistributed at lower levels – but, is it time that the big clubs in the premier league & championship paid a ‘football tax’ that is filtered down to non league clubs?
The funding could be ring fenced to be spent on infrastructure, facilities, equipment, utilities etc… not players wages.
As part of their PL viewing rights, Sky, BT and the like should make a much greater financial contribution to non league football.
After all, the pyramidion atop the Pyramid of Khufu (The Great Pyramid) only stood at 481ft due to the many levels below it.
You can’t have a Pyramidion (Premier League) without the lower levels!

2,800
December 6, 2023 at 9:19 am #277883About right CBRP, Barnet was a league game and numb nuts who’d just taken on the club was in his honeymoon period, plus cup games just don’t generate the same interest.

So, they choose the Chester game on 2nd March.
January 23, 2024 at 2:59 pm #279691“With the attendance record for a National League North LEAGUE game sitting at 6,311 currently, Scunthorpe United is looking to pack the park against Chester on Saturday, March 2nd and look to break the current figure.”
Article – OWS.January 23, 2024 at 4:41 pm #279699Really good to see this, hopefully we can build some momentum on the pitch again during feb and smash the record. With Chester likely to bring 6-700+ it’s certainly attainable.

March 2, 2024 at 9:03 am #281918Can we catch Tamworth or will we set another new attendance record in the play off finals?
That question needs to be asked of the players in a group Q & A.
Certainly have to show up today, future gates will be affected by how interested they are. Have said before not always about the win but the attitude shown if beaten ! No matter who the opponent was The IRON used to fight, that has to return starting TODAY.
