A quick search of his profile shows the first post to be from 2020 with a post or two not complimentary towards Swann.

Stop taking it out on fans because they don’t worship the ground Hilton walks on. Concerns about Hilton can be brushed away as unfounded, no matter what (and some seemingly are), but we can assert other fans are conspiracists based on nothing? That’s no better than Rene’s conspiracies.

I asked the person a perfectly valid question. Read my post again and there is nothing criticising fans for their opinions of Hilton. Like many people I will make my mind up on what he does for the club. Don’t give a monkeys about the many other agendas doing the rounds on antisocial media.

Just out of interest iron insider where were you for the 5 years the Swann’s were destroying the football club?

Or have you only become the font of all knowledge since Hilton came on the scene?

Probably just a coincidence you and uninteresting bystander arrived at the same time as Hilton.

19 players on the books at this stage then.

    Jimbob’s misfits (end of contracts):

    Ben Richards-Everton
    Colin Daniel
    Daniel Gallimore
    Elliott Whitehouse
    George Taft
    Jack Moore-Billam
    Jordan Hallam
    Liam Feeney
    Mason O’Malley
    Sean Shields.

Nothing like bending the facts to suit your narrative.

Look again at the list and you will see Dean (possibly) had a hand in 2 of them being here. The rest were down to Cox, Hill or Swann.

Richards Everton was not the quickest or fittest centre back we have ever signed but he was a big upgrade on Taft who has been sh1te since his loan period ended.

Shields looked to have something to offer but he was given a few opportunities and delivered nothing

Agree Rance has done nothing so far so fair to judge Dean on that choice. The rest of the team had pretty much given up the fight by the time he arrived so let’s see how he performs next season.

Of the players already on a deal for next year only Sembie-Ferris, Chapman and Elliott are (probably) Dean choices. For the rest deals were in place from the Swann era. It is obvious from the OWS announcement that Hilton/Dean would like at least some of those to depart before August. The queue to sign them won’t be a long one.

I don’t think Dean has covered himself in glory in his 17 games but let’s not be blaming him and or Hilton for the debacle they inherited.

Agree Les that was one of the poorest midfield performances I have ever witnessed from the Iron.

Sembie-Ferris was comfortably the best of the initial four which tells you all you need to know about Pugh, Shields and Rance. SF at least reached the heady heights of shite. The others didn’t get close to that level.

Elsewhere roasted Leake was on the menu again today.

Shrimpton, Butterfield and Robertson came on and all of a sudden Dorking did not seem to have a midfield after dominating the first hour or so.

That’s 5 seasons now we have come to the end thinking “Thank god that’s over”

I would keep Ogle, Foster, Elliot, Shrimpton, Butterfield and Robertson from today’s showing. Happy to drive the rest home.

Your choice Deery but if that kind of nonsense intimidated me I would probably stop reading it.

I don’t want to get into a playground spat over it so by all means have the last word and I promise not to respond.

‘In all my years watching SUFC I have never known fans being told they are club killers by various anonymous accounts and threatened with a slap…’

However you look at it, it’s not good!

Not so long ago a board member called fans morons.

Return for the Swann’s anyone? Worked out so well last time.

Are you suggesting calling fans morons and threatening physical violence are similar?

No but I am suggesting a verified insult to all Iron fans by a board member of the club is significantly more serious than a threat of a slap by some anonymous idiot on social media.

Cox suggested on Humberside on Saturday pre match that at least some of the signings were not Dean’s choices.

It is obvious that neither Dean or Hilton had seen many of them in action simply because most were not playing for their clubs. Hilton admitted on the podcast interview that Thompson was his idea.

Perhaps more interestingly Cox became the first ex Iron manager from the Swann era to confirm our long held suspicions regarding the chairman’s influence on signings and team selection.

Little wonder we are in the sh1t.

Hilton, like all chairman needs to decide whose football opinion he trusts, be that Dean or someone else and let them get on with it.

It is not Hilton’s choice to not take credit cards. It has been forced on the club and several other clubs and is well documented.

Anyone holding off purchasing until the legal confirmation of the ownership change are making a personal choice to disbelieve Hilton’s word. No problem with that but perhaps moaning about your decision having some minor financial consequences hardly seems fair to me.

Could someone explain to me the difference in Nelson’s system and Dean’s. Both played mainly a nominal 4-3-3 as far as I can see.

Main difference is Nelson had Lavery and Dean didn’t.

Wrexham v Notts County not on NLTV. It’s on BT Sport. Not a bad call though for Monday afternoon.

Getting beyond embarrassing watching our shower and the glee from arsehole Oldham fans is probably more than I can bear.

I get the stadium tour thing at Wembley, Camp Nou, San Siro etc.

    Glanford Park not so much.

How many other tier 6 clubs sustain either a full time restaurant or shop?

Hard though it is we need to start accepting the reality of what has been done to our football club and all of the unpleasant consequences that go with it.

Let’s try not to forget where the responsibility for the demise of the club belongs.

And it’s not David Hilton or Jimmy Dean.

Did I miss the part of the interview where Hilton said he is moving us from playing somewhere we can pull in 3,000 crowds despite 5 years of shite to somewhere where their own towns team pull in 700?

If Hilton thought he could sustain a National League or higher team at Ilkeston he wouldn’t have tried to buy Bury or SUFC.

Unless of course he is an even bigger idiot than his predecessor. Which is very hard to believe.

It would have been much cheaper to fund Ilkeston a couple of promotions than to buy our club and still have to fund a couple of promotions.

It’s a personal opinion but as a supporter I don’t give a toss where the team train. According to our last half dozen managers we have been great at training but sh1te in matches. I would like like us to become better at the bit I pay to watch. Never been to watch training in my near 60 years of watching the Iron.

For balance the thing that does concern me about Mr Hilton is that (if true) then letting people know they are losing their jobs via the media rather than face to face is an absolute disgrace.

One positive for me was Thompson. The one player in our team that would make their first eleven. He is going to punish mediocre National League teams.

The biggest negative for me was that their main threat to us was obvious in the first 5 minutes but for the next 85 minutes we did nothing to address it.

Their right winger had Leake on toast all day. We dropped deep into a shape to try and make life difficult for them but 90% of their free possession either side of the half way line ended up with an easy pass to the feet of their most dangerous player who spent the whole game without Leake (or any other Iron player) within 10 yards of him. He then either took Leake on directly very much his own terms or played a simple ball through to his full back or midfield runner who were invariably not tracked leading to an unchallenged cross.

Net result was a steady stream of quality balls across the box from their right hand side that produced 4 goals and could easily have produced 4 more.

Common sense says if you are a full back and your winger is beasting you 1 to 1 then you mark the fecker so tightly that his team stop trying to pass to him. Takes you out of the game but also takes him out of it.

Someone on or off the field should have been screaming instructions to the young lad from the 7th minute at least to get tight and stay tight.

They would probably still have beaten us because they are a very good football team but at least we would have made them work for it.

Never won a game there before and we are very unlikely to change that tomorrow.

Agree with Cliff, enjoy the occasion, hopefully put in a decent performance and keep some momentum for the 7 games that really matter.

Best of luck to Jai. Always gave his all and looked like he cared.

Not helped that his variety of coaches could never decide what position was his best – centre back, full back or midfield.

He will have more chance of a successful career if he decides which position he enjoys most and sticks to it.

If he is not getting any game time at all then the National League (or lower) is the only option.

If he has already made a bunch of appearances in mens professional football then U-21 games aren’t going to help him.

I am thinking the keeper and back four are certain starters barring injury.

Bennett, Butterfield, Bunker probably will start most games because they have a bit of quality. Personally I would put Wilson in that second group as well. Perm any 2 from the other 25 and that’s the team to deliver the miracle.
