    Rene Artois
I do not know other peoples financial status, but from experiences at Ilkeston and monies spent, with breathtaking improvements to the club and playing structures I think he has proved he is a winner… without doubt!
As for poor communication, we’ll its not is it?… replying, and responding to negative comments from a small percentage of fans, who you would not have heard a peep out of, if the team were likely to escape relaxation is not my idea of good communication.
As I said, let the doubters go to Ilkeston and ask independent fans about Mr Hiltons capability.. and not listen to keyboard warriors.

You’re going off course here, probably on purpose.

There has been no response to reasonable questions which are nothing to do with team performance and nothing in regard to his plans for the club / ground / land.

This is a professional football club, regardless of the previous tenure teh fans expect and deserve to be properly communicated with. Not through Twitter.

What does properly communicated with mean? If not twitter, then what? Carrier pigeon, newspaper, email, meeting at Glandford Park, personal phone calls (mobile or landline?), town crier or smoke signals?

Ferrite, City will hire the best 30 lawyers in the world and tie up the whole situation for the next 20 years.

I don’t think that any of the football authorities, either in England or Int’l, will have the wallet or the desire to fight them.

Sadly, it is too late to bolt the stable door. Not only has the horse bolted, it has covered at least 8 furlongs and is still out of control!!

… yesterday emulated our feat against Leyton Orient all those years ago! 2-0 down at Borussia Dortmund in the 89th minute, won 3-2!

I remember that game Bobby, I was driving home thinking we had lost 2-0, after leaving early.

I had a worse one than that though, after driving with my lads to watch the Notts Forest FA Cup match one Saturday after phoning their ticket office to order our tickets, arrived to find that they had not saved them. So with Scunny at Lincoln City that same afternoon, we called at Lincoln on our way back to Barton, and entering the ground about six minutes after kick off, the game was 2-0 after two early goals, I think to Lincoln. The score was still 2-0 with five minutes to go, so we went back to the car to avoid the traffic, there were two late goals and the score ended 2-2, so after driving all the way to Notingham, then to Lincoln and the Lincoln game, we had a full day but never saw any of the bloody goals, then back to Barton ha ha! Funny thing is that I nearly always still lerave when just a few minutes remaining in games.

    Enjoy

Those were the days RoamingBull, thats when Scunny used to play attacking football, five forwards whoever we were playing, also a great night when Scunny won 4-0 at Leeds, I think that Barrie Tomas scored all four goals, and I slipped full lenth climbing a steep muddy bank inside Elland Road.

At your age you should realise that leaving early is not a good idea.

I never leave until the final whistle has been blown. Even when we are getting hammered – and there have been a good few times, both home and away – I just can’t bring myself to leave.

Now have 3 grown up children who also stay to the bitter end!!

As pointed out already, they are innocent until proven guilty.

What I want to know is why, in 2023, are they going back to 2009? Have they not checked them out since then or are they incompetent?

It’s not only City who should be getting chased. There are a number of clubs around Europe who need reviewing.

    Good game and excellent atmosphere.

Feeney was really strong when he came on. Like him a lot.

Their no 6 was quality. Lanky bastard as well.

If we keep playing like that, and convert a few more chances, we have an outside chance of staying up.

    Enjoyed the day.

Of course people are going to speculate.

We’re surrounded by tabloid journalism and reality television shows!

That doesn’t mean that you have to read/watch them.

It seems that everything is LCD these days.

The op tells us not to get too giddy until we get the details. He then says “from what I’ve read” which is throwing more BS into the pot.

All this pretending & speculating has become really boring.

Why can’t people just wait & react to actual fact.

There’s no way he would have left there if he hadn’t all but sealed the deal for the club. According to some this could be done and announced before tomorrow’s game or the day after, it’s supposed to be near enough done.

Hilton was down at the club yesterday as well.

It must be happening. Burny has spoken!!

Probably the wrong forum but the Met recruitment procedure is terribly flawed, even their own boss says so and has stated he could sack plenty of his current staff if a proper probe was launched. Let’s not forget the poor girl arrested under COVID laws on the streets of London not long ago, driven to a wood, raped, murdered and buried in the wood by a serving Met officer. Now this low life surfaces and warnings were ignored five times in his employment regarding abuse of women. No not every officer is a rapist and I apologise if that was my inference but the crap culture of abuse and racism running through its ranks means the police have been losing respect for years and with good reason. They say themselves they are badly in need of reform so pull your head out of the sand III and I won’t take lectures from you, a Swann apologist.

I am not, and never have been a Swann apologist.

You will not find a single post from me that supports him.

Yep this government loves going after the little people but when the little people’s houses get burgled or their cars stolen, they couldn’t give a toss. Mind you seems the police are into rape big time after today’s latest disgusting revelations, absolutely tragic the way this country is going.

Do you even think before you post?

1 copper out of 45,000 Met staff is a rapist and you condemn the lot of them.

Would you condemn the whole of Banbury (pop circa 45,000) if 1 person there is found guilty of rape? Thought not.

There are few actions without downsides, but some might say the publicity is a price worth paying to put pressure on Swann.

Looking through a few other forums and it has made it on to there. None were discussing our plight when we didn’t.

Yes people will discuss our plight. However, they will do nothing to help us.

We discussed Bury and others on here – but did nothing.

Any activity by us supporters should have happened 12 months ago. It is now too little too late. And before all you keyboard warriors get carried away, no I haven’t got involved. I have neither the time nor the inclination.

These are just my thoughts and instincts due to the ongoing dire situation with Swann. A deal had supposedly be done with Ian and Simon in December. Simon came on the radio and stated that Peter and Karin Swann had rung him and wished them the best of luck. People in the media have said also that the goalposts keep being moved. The London consortium also put a bid in and now there seems to be other interested parties. If Swann had wanted to sell surely he would and should have done by now, particularly as he has run all the debts up which are owed.

None of us has any idea what has been offered to Swann. Neither do we know what was demanded as part of any deal.

If you are expressing your opinion you should make it clear. It seems to me that you blame any delay on Swann (which may or may not be correct), but the reality is that you know nothing more than the rest of us.

Let’s just hope that any deal is completed as soon as possible.

Can you tell me how you know he has moved the goalposts? I was unaware that anything has been made public.

Please also explain how you know he would rather sell to anyone other than the local consortium. As far as I know there have been no other offers made. Let me know if I am wrong.

None of us want this to drag on any longer than it needs to, but making up stuff just agitates people even more.

So it is 5million as stated in the accounts and not the fantasy figure of 900k Awayswego was suggesting.

To be fair to Awaywego, I believe he stated that the land was worth £900K. The £5M refers to the land, ground etc. etc. (Which is very close to the £5.3M listed on the books).

Let’s all pray that a deal is pushed through soon.

Person who SE replied to has been doing his best to get our situation out there, he might not know how to run a business but he cares for SUFC Deeply and deserves more than the ridicule given to him and his mate.

This person is a loud mouth who thinks he’s the biggest & best Scunny supporter around. He talks as if he is best mates with people and intimates that he knows more than anyone else – but never has anything new to say.

He can also be rude and abusive on FB and looks up other people’s profiles and makes rude remarks about them. I know this for fact as he did it to me.

    Waste of space.

Sorry Les, but the vast majority of people would snap your arm off to buy a property with a 10, 15 or 20% reduction.

I think you over estimate the depth of feeling for the Club in Scunthorpe as a whole (when probably over half the support comes from outside the town).

The “Fans Director” contributes as mush as our broken scoreboard. I cannot recall the last time he made a meaningful announcement, or even acknowledged the fans legitimate concerns. I can only assume that the club have instructed him to say nothing, and if that is indeed the case, he should resign as they are preventing him doing what he was elected to do!

Daz, I agree that the guy has had no impact on anything. However, whilst you talk about the fans “legitimate concerns”, how many of them have actually contacted him to make them known and/or ask his advice. Surely it is a two way relationship?

There would be no point having a trust if someone else carries out what they should be doing, people will listen to a recognized organization not to someone they don’t know. The Southend trust come up with numerous ideas and funding to help their club. I suppose if they are all like you on the trust ironironiron it sounds has if it will be to much hassle for them.

I agree that the Trust has not torn up any trees, but if people would listen to them then you would be best to go to them with your ideas and ask for their support.

As I do not live in the area I am unable to commit to attending meetings. I have been disappointed with what they have achieved to date (or not achieved), but it is more than most others have done.

I am not supporting the Trust, although I am a member.

It just seems that when people have their bright ideas they always suggest that somebody else carries it out.

If you have an idea why not approach the Trust and get their support?

What evidence do you have that he has any money left to spend on another court case?

What evidence do you have that he hasn’t?
