I don’t think anything looks bleak until we find out who’s going and who’s coming in. Not sure how a reasonable assessment can be made yet.
MW
Thats why i wrote “looks bleak IF 7 or 8 depart”.watched both the York v Oldham and FGR v Southend PO games and twas dam fine football on show ..if thats the standard we are up against next season its gonna be a long hard season.
Funny that, because I watched the Europa League Final and the football on show was shite!
So not so much about the level you’re at as how you perform on the day.
If AB can put together a team that will go out there and fight for the shirt and each other we’ll be fine. The problem we had during our rapid demise was too many players not putting in a shift.
Agree but theres that word IF again… AB did manage to get a decent tune out of his troops this season but he inherit most from the Hilton n JD era …lets say IF MOST do leave he will have to form a squad basically from scratch.
I did notice Beck was very much on the edge on the celebrations looking rather uncomfortable which is a bit sad.Gotta feel a bit for York who finished 23 points more than Olldham then had a stinker against then in the PO semi .. reading on SM York are pressing the NL / EFL for change …good luck with that.
Who is actually under contract for next season do we know for sure?
Officially there wasn’t many. I think SCALES, EVANS and BECK. There are 5 others with no date shown BARROWS, DENTON, BROGAN, ROWLEY and FISHBURN. 11 out of contract June 2025. But seems we have options on 8 or 9 of the others from that total 16.
I think 7/8 to leave.
Looking bleak if 7 or 8 depart … i know he is under contract but rumours about a club after Evans also not sure i think it was Barnet but may be wrong.
watched both the York v Oldham and FGR v Southend PO games and twas dam fine football on show ..if thats the standard we are up against next season its gonna be a long hard season especially if too many of our main players leave .. im guessing we will get the scores on the doors next week for what is arguably one of the most important retained released lists in the clubs history.
Rumours abound .. wage caps and players linked to moves , we just have to wait n see what left in the mix.A dose in the Championship wouldnT do Man U (and Goldbridge) any harm .. now that be great to see. The Red Devils are so lucky to have been blessed this season with Ipswich, Leicester and Shampton so far off the pace thus saving them.
Pretty sure Fitz will leave based on rumour and a couple of recent SM interviews in which he was very cagey about the future / career.
Set up like you did it .arse!
The add ive been getting has the Bru logo as a header saying watch for site access for 24 hours … also getting loads of pop ups
No chance of watching the game but thank the lord for HR which was an excellent unbroken service
ive just had my crystal ball repaired after it advised me incorrectly re the Chester score, it seems to be back working as it did say i would have a hangover Monday which was spent recovering watching the many YT vlogs and highlights of this momentous occasion.
Here is where it gets tricky who will stay or go and can we build a squad that can stay up in the NL next season .. i think we will loose Roberts Fitz and Whall but most of the rest will stay following promotion.
Any new signings need to be bang on the mark.reading SM its looks like Cal Roberts has played his last game for Scunny and Fitz already has a deal lined up, as mentioned on another thread we need to cherry pick a few stand out NLN players to come in and blend with whats left from this bunch when the dust settles .. lots of talk about the likes of Billy Sharp n Ryan Colclough and others being tempted back but just cant see the budget allowing such signings even if these players wanted to return… time will tell and hopefully some new mega bucks investor might be found WHO KNOWS.
Similarly, Omotayo from Kings Lynn would be a good signing. He looks like he could effortlessly do what Beck blustrously can’t.
Agreed .. having just spent 2 seasons in NLN with a bit inside knowledge should SUFC be looking to cherry pick 2 or 3 6th tier stand outs for their NL campaign perhaps ? who has caught your eye ?
I went to renew my season ticket today and found it shut Why can’t they tell on the website ?Not impressed
Go to the Club FB page rather than the website as the shop opening days and times are posted weekly. The post today says … due to winning promotion yesterday the club shop will be closed today re open Tuesday which is pretty understandable.

No chance of watching where i am today cos of internet buffering woes but usually commentary is ok ..that said PLEASE can anyone send me the link for RH as im currently getting a blocked message.
TIA
Clunan interview .. he mentions the long wait plus more.
I hope they have been practicing penalties.
Heres the interview make yer own mind up if you think AB may be bluffing re Roberts .. his words “being brutally honest i dont think he will be in involved … he wont be involved.
sorry about the long link pulled it off X
Just read a FB post saying AB confirmed on radio Hull Roberts is out Sunday .. mind games ?? if not his goal threat and assists will be a massive miss for the Iron..
IF we win on Sunday there are so many other variables how things pan out, who stays who leaves, the budget etc etc but same as Sf 49 i too am not overly confident in ABs leadership and motivational skills coming up against well drilled NL sides .. not sure i buy this just one more game huddle on the pitch malarkey , saying that fingers crossed AB gets the players up for it and its attack from the KO and a WIN.
Sadly im sticking with my earlier prediction
Lets be right any assistance received from the council re the MW closure was only ever gonna get sorted with Prince Harry intervening..
Bax Mellend a legend in his own mind.
I had a dream … well a nightmare more like.
** Based on Cal Roberts not being involved, yes he really is that pivotal.
Im gonna kick off the score predictions for Sunday and apologize in advance if i piss on anyones chips its just how i see it unfolding.
Got a gut feeling
It will be very close yet open game with a few goals , no way its a 0-0 n pens this one.
The Iron players for whatever reason put in a lackluster performance, Chester want it more on the day and run out winners .. its what happens at Scunny when theres a huge game and crowd..2-2 90 MINS
2-3 AET
Chester go upAtt 8,889
1 member = 1 vote
1 STH = 1 POF ticket? It’s discriminatory allowing a ST holder to be able to preferentially purchase 4 tickets.
Very poor imho.
Agree Rene .. doesnt effect me but i do feel sorry the loyal regular fans who will miss out .
IMO a STH should have been able to buy their own ticket plus 1 more maximum.
Rene when shall we start the score predictions ?????? btw im assuming Cal Roberts will be out injured.
I’m sure we had 8999 against The Millers years ago.
capacity is 9,0XX but i read some where the away end will have the front 2 rows of seats covered and something else about some seats covered for segregation.
Around about 8,800 – 8,900 ish looks likely.
As for the Chester fans parking issues … hopefully most will be leaving early due to a convincing Iron lead (half time would be nice)

I liked him.
Yes so did i .. cant remember the circumstances of him leaving Scunny but IMO it was a shame he left
im gonna be out in the rural boonies so no chance of a viewing, its a few beers and HR on the wireless (phone) for me and then catch up with the highlights when back to the metropolis (if we win)
Just me and my house keeper who i might add is now Iron 100% especially when there is free Chang beers on the table..she is cooking up a jungle meal of pik gang gop (spicy rainy season frog curry) and a mango and coconut dessert… depending on the score she may get a tip .. or i will 5555555
Good point AWG …
So much riding on the result of this game NL or NLN again a big difference in the ST sales for next season perhaps.
As for the game im not sure it will be as clear cut as the recent community day league fixture and i am however positively sure nerves will be jangling if its 90 mins draw ET and even the dreaded pens. I shall leave my score prediction until i know if Cal Roberts is playing as IMO that could be massive.
Lots moaning about season ticket holders being allowed to buy 4 tickets, surely that’s one of the perks of buying one they’ll distribute them to who they see fit.
The community game they could buy another for a friend for a tenner.
Seems a sensible move imo for a club that gets it wrong so many times, most casuals will know at least one season ticket holder.Even worse for Chester fans, their casuals questioning themselves and the club with their monthly membership scheme gold, silver and bronze and all you get for it is entry into a ballot for any tickets left after season ticket holders have purchased theirs.
Many commenting do have a very valid point ST holders being allowed to get more than they should have will mean many loyal regulars will miss out .. IMO ST holders should have been allowed only their own ticket OR max 1 EXTRA…
ST holders dragging friends n family along who have possibly never been before.
Dosent effect me but really bad planning by SUFC and bound to piss off many.
This is one gig that will go down in the annals of history as being a total clusterfook .. its got disaster written all over it especially now Kieth Harris and Orville have pulled out due to bird flu.
Roberts wants to go to war with the trust… has apparently banned the trust bringing new merch onsite as well as click and collects!
Claims the trust and other fan groups have no right to use any badge, past or present.
He even think using the term “Iron” or “Unity” is an outrageous use of the club “identity”If this turns out to be the case then WTF is Roberts thinking .. he will alienate himself even more from the fan base.
The Trust do so much great work for the club and arent funds raised directed by to the club anyway in the form of shares and or donations ??
Some nice stuff being sold and by all accounts the UNITY flag sold out very quickly.Maybe Roberts has a deal with the new folks who took over from Merch labs recently or they arent happy contractually re this sudden competition using the same logos and club related wording.
Seen a number of cocksure braggadocio posts on social media about beating Chester and I don’t like it one bit. Look where the Kiddie braggers landed. All game for a bit of taunting if they’re giving it large but to think we’ve already won is naive in the extreme.
Absolutely agree ..some of the comments are really daft .. IMO without Roberts for the final and Chester being well backed (1500 ) seeking revenge its far from a done deal and a lot of iron posters could well have egg on their faces looking very silly if it does go pear shaped.

Tango man seems to have been thru the juicer … still IMO a fair interview in difficult circumstances.
The there the Chester manager obviously in a more jolly mood.
