So are we all happy about our club being moved to another town?
No Ferrite, I would think thaT 99.9% of Scunny fans are feeling very sick over what goes on with their club, all this is down to two people. It was annouced many months ago that Hilton had bough tthe club and all its assets, he then presented supporters to buy into a new share system at £1,899 per share, then brought the earlybird seasons ticket deadline forward to before the end of this disasterous season, it then came to light that he did not even own the stadium and land, even though he had starteds selling the shares.
I hate Swann for what he has done to our club, but there is a lot of blame also to be directed at Hilton, it is so easy to tell the truth on happenings, but this has not been the case at Scunny for years. The supporters of SUFC do not deserve to be treated this way, whilst these two play their little games, why don’t they grow up and sort the bloody problem out. I doubt if more than 600 will travel to Gainsbro’ after the first couple of matches, the whole situation stinks.
Cant disagree with any of that .. as pointed out financially playing in another town is a disaster and i cant see more than 1000 “home” fans making the trip regularly even if the team are at the top end of the table.
The club , individuals certainly lacking any updates clarifying anything thus leaving fans in limbo and out of pocket re season tickets and those who rolled the 1899 dice.WHAT A BLOODY MESS

thought i would see what GTFC ground is like .. seems ok , take it open un covered end will be the away end for our “home” fixtures.
Local pubs and businesses can make hay while the suns shines with twice the number of home fixtures being played there.
What about North Ferriby , Winterton , Barton , Brigg Town
Thanks for the link showing all the past SUFC kits and badges … im the proud owner of quite a few of them … i much prefer the old round unity club badge than any other.

I saw the rather poor quality image of this proposed new ground via a link sent to me from twitter and a few things caught my eye ..
12k .. overkill ..5 to 10 fine
Build the ground first with one or two stands so can play there season 25/26 is possible if the planning etc can be done in record time .. BUT it would mean playing at a half finished stadium that may never get completed let alone it being surrounded by various other construction sites re Hotel , Shopping center n food court etc etc .. all this would lead to rather an unpleasant vibe and feel to attending home games and IMO put many off.
A few other questions
How much was paid for the land ??
What is the budget for the build ??
Funding ??
Who nicked the signs ??
Where the hell are we playing this 23/24 season ??.. its getting very late as fixtures are out in early July if im not mistaken. My heart says i hope it all goes well for the best the club its a success
My head says total fantasy…and Swan holds the Aces re GPRe season tickets and 1899 for that matter.. if it comes to a ground share for the coming season and it is not a convenient location for some can they get a refund as when buying the ST (in cash) was on the assumption games would be at GP … similarly with 1899 .. i would hope a full refund to the circa 50 or 60 who dipped their toe in the water would be the order of the day.
ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE Loving the new signings and confident on the pitch we will have a team than can challenge at the top of the NLN.
Quite a few places only have 2 or 3 stands ..Carlisle and Gateshead to name just 2.
Im not daft but some of the comments especially delivering a new stadium in 2 years are lets say very optimistic i really hope i am wrong tho… i am however refraining from getting involved with all the very speculative comments and replies on both sides i just want the best for the club.
Obviously the biggest concern a the moment has to be if and where we will be playing next season and how this effects season tickets previously sold.
Back on the football ..seems after early rush the signings have ceased… and waiting to see the kits with anticipation.
yes with all what going on i found it strange so many have already bought a season ticket.. wasnt the number circa over 1000 on the early bird gig ?
As my daughter commented living in Gunness a season ticket for GP was great , alas no so jolly if it ends up being a journey to “home” fixtures were ever they are.

with all the massive off the field uncertainty something i cant get my old head around and thats the 5, 6 or 7 new signings that have penned a contract effective from July 2023… whilst im very happy with the signings why would Hilton get himself into contractual issues if everything doesnt work out , thus legal cases between these players and the club… unless theres some very small print covering the club before July ??
more so why would players contemplate to sign a contract with the club in such a state and possibly without a ground to play in ….i can only imagine they took advice or have been assured all is ok and thought ..lets go for it !!sorry if ive missed some obvious answer to the above ..
Rumours swirling on SM and fishy Hilton is on his toes n leaving
I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that all our internet spaces have been invaded by so called ‘fans’ of Bury FC.
They are on here. Most joined in the last two or three months.
Nonsense
Don’t worry, it’ll all come out in the end!
Apart from Iron Bystander, which other posters joined this forum over the last few months? Pat came and went and admitted to being a mate of Hilton’s. There’s no one else
Im relatively new on here
i have no affiliation with Bury FC but did do an away trip to Gigg lane in the mad van if that counts.Scrub that i just checked n i joined circa 18 months ago
blooming heck maybe the Rolla was leased after all !!… i hope with all the excellent signings things on the pitch go better than off it…
WHAT A BLOODY MESS .. so many issues need clarifying ..like where will we play?

No mention of Rick Green ????
I think you should all stop bickering. Swann will cave in, we’ll win the league by a landslide and we’ll be in place to piss the national league the following season.
Believe to achieve !
Stop bickering ..yes that would be a positive
Swan cave in … cant see it happening things are very messy
Based on the first few signings and giving JD a full pre season with them
win the NLN handsomely … im optimistic
Challenge at the top of the NL the season after ….. i remain optimistic (we wont piss it)DO A LUTON .. take note circa 10 years ago Luton were in NLN yesterday they were promoted to the EPL miracles can happen.
Given the club seems to conduct much of it’s comms via Twitter and there’s a sizeable chunk of the supporter base on the Scunny Fans Facebook group, quite a few on here might benefit from taking a look now and again rather than expecting us to post links. In this day and age, it’s not that difficult with a smart phone. Or you can carry on being in the dark I suppose?
IMO there should be more updates via the club website not everyone uses FB n Twitter .. as yet nothing except the one so far, whilst all around even with all the uncertainty players being signed , land being acquired and gates being locked. If only the club were as keen to keep its fan base both in the Uk and overseas fully updated on current issues as they are at selling numerous sponsorships , 1899 shares , season tickets , old kits (without even a comment to know where the team will even be playing) wouldnt it be great ..
My daughter now saying maybe they should of waited before buying the family season ticket, im not one for saying i told you so BUT ..i told you so.

With me not being on twitter or FB the silence is deafening re any furthers happenings re SUFC , GP , the takeover deal being finalized etc etc .. has anything substantial other than obvious to n fro throw away comment been announced , confirmed ??

You do it then! Why does it matter so much to you? If you’re not in ‘our position’ then where does your motivation for all this detailed and time consuming engagement come from? I resent any inference that I don’t care about my club just because I’m not leaping into some sort of frenzy of activity. You have all this data. You take responsibility and get the press involved. You take ownership for what you are telling us you know … and if you prove yourself both correct and effective in acting to help our club to secure a better future then I will thank you.
I’m not here for the argument, I’m here because I know the difference between right and wrong. If you want to sit and wait, you do that.
As for the press, they are already on it.
This interested bystander stance appears to be coming an obsession, for some one with little or no affiliation to the club leans towards having some negative agenda re Hilton and smacks of shit stirring especially ‘advising” Scunny fans to meet up and get the media involved.
Bringing Simon Elliot into it on here as you have also not necessary.
Sadly this whole saga has gone way to far down the path for fans to sort get any accurate info and know where it will end so lets go day to day.
BTW loving the new signings so far ..all excellent.

Not been impressed by Rance at all … rumoured to of arrived carrying an injury, could well spend more than the average time out injured or suspended as he likes a booking now n then. Hope he stays fit and improves on the performances he put in during the short time he was at Scunny before the end of the season.
Robertson looked a prospect , dont know much about Poulter n the other youngsters.Hoping Butterfield n Ogle stay ..
Nice to get back to some footy talk as the off the field if n ands re Hiltons past , the new land and stuff that normal fans know little about is very negative and tedious and must put guys off posting on here.
WG ..agree but a lot depends of the players still here on contract decision to stay or leave (Butterfield Wilson and Ogle mainly) .. maybe when seeing the excellent new signings coming in they could be swayed to stay.
Good Keeper options with Fitz n Chappo (assuming Foster is leaving) Whitehall Elliot Carver a decent strike force for NLN would expect then to bag plenty .. maybe add one more again Wilson staying or going may effect that.
All in all on the pitch its shaping up ok and im guessing a few more still to come in ….now just gotta find some where to play.
Probably best to draw a line under that discussion on here chaps.
googled .. indeed founded n defunct well after i departed Blighty…nuff said on that.
EDL .. enlighten me
im guessing there will be a few nervous fans today in the build up to tonights gathering , steel toe caps glistening , Dr Martens ox blooded the Fred Perry and union jack braces ironed and ready to go.
This there some way fans not in attendance can listen in ??
Winner of the most pointless and idiotic post of the year, awarded in May.
Certain it can’t possibly be beaten!
Tongue in cheek post .. with a bit of 1980s fashion thrown in ..not meant to be taken seriously
obviously not read as such
No podcast .. no live twitter feed .. why so strange to ask

Luton best the Mackems to get to one step away from the PL … crazy tale and one Scunny fans should take heart from …. as Loyd said in dumb n dumber ..SO YOUR TELLING ME THERES A CHANCE !!!!!!!
good to see THE Scunthorpe thread again so popular over on the Fishy … see the cods do care about us.
Im liking the early signings all 4 ov em.. again i hope they are all JDs picks thus propelling to either hero status or zero status.
UTI
Just a few more hours and hopefully a peacful forum with clarification on all the issues currently being guessed at..
Please new signings are being done early .. that has not been the case in many years…hopefully more to come soon
I don’t expect a stadium to be built there InterstedBystander
The fact we’ve erected 2 big shiny signs on the fence today suggests it’s a negotiating tactic to bring Swann back to the table.
If Swann calls Hilton’s bluff in 2 weeks time, this could get messy
I agree. As I said earlier, Hilton’s flexing.
A question for tomorrow night- Who have you acquired the land from, what is the title number for both parcels of land and when was the transaction completed?
What are your thoughts on Simon Elliott acting as Hilton’s mouthpiece? I have warned against this previously, pointing out that both the club and Hilton have a voice.
Nothing wrong with Simon voicing an opinion, he has no formal capacity at the club as far as I’m aware so he can post what he likes.
AGREE … oh and Hilton did say in a past interview maybe the ironarmy podcast that Simon was in talks re getting involved and Hilton welcomed that.
