Symbolism ,exactly that’s all it is.Its surely symbolically nice to reflect Britain as it is in our national “symbols”
Correct and lets not forget it is actually on the national football teams shirt not apparel designed for the Chelsea flower show. … not sure i could ever see other nations messing about with their countries flag.
I recall an Aussie fella here getting chucked in jail for standing on a Thai flag and more recently a Thai bank manager being demoted as the flag on the back was dirty and wind damaged..
Boycott Nike and this shirt ..easy
4 games in 9 days should not be a problem for a super fit FULL TIME correctly rotated team and tactically astute manager ….should it ??
And what does that have to do with us?
My comment was tongue in cheek as is yours Ironx3 ..
It is however times like this 4 games in 9 days that the players out on loan ie Barrows, Shrimpton n even Wilson may have been utilized especially with Evans ban and current walking wounded.. hopefully no more crocked or banned in the next couple of games or could leave us very light for the last few games of the season and even the playoffs.
This has got a draw written all over it…

Not that it effects me but in discussion with my daughter whom it does i thought the ST pricing was excellent regardless if in NLN or hopefully NL next season especially the Britcon terrace which would be my choice.
Barrows
Shrimpton
Wilson
never really got a look in never mind a run of games as i thought the first two were and are worthy of it , Wilson has always looked somewhat uninterested when given any chance to impact a game off the bench and did want away end of last season until the takeover etc…so wasnt surprised at him going out on loan… Ross n Finn i was.Hopefully these players will all do well whilst away and come back better that appears to have been the case with Pugh and DSF.

Nobody was talking about him last week, or for the last 5 years or so.
He was not a good manager @ Scunny. He has done very well at Coventry. These things happen.
100% bob on.. i thought Robins was poor at Scunny that said was appointed by and working with a nail in his boot in Swan n Co and it appears he has /is doing a great job at Coventry obviously under different circumstances and budget so credit where its due on that score.
i much preferred Alexander.1 user thanked author for this post.
yes a change in the style of play has been noted …alas i dont think you can really take anything going forward from the last 2 fixtures both against such poor teams … i doubt we will get it so easy Saturday and in any of the other remaining games til the end of the season ..
Lets get back to this circa 5pm Saturday and hope we are celebrating another good direct attacking performance n 3 points.
Beware a Banbury Banana skin .. surely not.
Prediction 3-0 Scunny
Att 3,056Just seen my typo Att should be 3,356
Could be pushing Torps for the summariser’s job? Will we be any ‘braver’ next time around?
Please god NO ..last thing we need id Coz back in any form ..especially on the mic as cass suggests very brave man to say it wont happen but we have to be braver !!.. gimme Rigsby Torps any day over Cox.
Last thing we need is to be in NLN next season with York…it would be a Shambles.
Beware a Banbury Banana skin .. surely not.
Prediction 3-0 Scunny
Att 3,056I’m not optimistic for Tuesday at all. Hope Dean and the players make it unfounded.
Same here DM …unlike on the fans facebook page at least here one can post this without being targeted and tagged a non believer and have a month off.
Here was me thinking its a free country alas it seems remotely negative common sense opinions and comments are frowned upon especially by Mr “go Jerry go ” Mahoney.
Im busy next coupla days ..so an early prediction for Spennymoor is a totally different from BS and going for a score draw.
Players best turn up Tuesday at Spennymoor to save his arse again hadnt they ? ..
hey its just nice waking up and having something positive to take in like an away win and bonus a good attacking performance.. HOWEVER lets not get too giddy as i suspect my grans WI group could turn up n give BS a decent game at the moment apparently Gladys is on fire up front last few outings.
Yesterday will hopefully instill some much need confidence in all involved.
Whilst i find myself liking JD for his down to earth manner and the fact he does seem to have a real desire n love for the club im never overly enthused by his interviews .. pressure eased again but with Spennymoor on toppa the current form table Tuesday will be a whole different task from BS.
Its all about consistency .. consistently giving 100% along with the right line up n tactics.

4 5 1 … again could be another painful side 2 side watch ..hope not.
Wilson not getting a sniff lately ?? n the new fella Youmbi ?
1-1 predicted and JD survives to lead another week.
Rather a strange decision IMO ..
Well we need a reaction from someone after Tuesday.
If it’s not forthcoming from the ownership then it will have to be from the coaching and playing staff.
It’ll be more of the same tomorrow.
Players will be at half pace, protecting themselves from picking up a serious injury.
You can’t go on trial if you can’t play due to injury.
There minds will be on “where am I going to be playing next season”As mentioned by TJO earlier in this thread there is the possibility many players whose contracts are ending have already got a foot our the door thus so mentally not giving a toss risking any injuries etc.
It really is a total clusterfook and such a shame after all the hard work saving he club , GP and a great first half of the season.
Based on what I’ve seen this league is the one our players are equipped for. However nobody deserves the standard of officiating we’ve had to endure. When we were a “small” team playing “big” teams they always seemed to get the benefit of decisions, why doesn’t that work in NLN?
I think cass because the refs back then in the EFL knew what they were doing (wink wink) , this lot clearly don’t know how to referee full stop.
The refs have been consistently total gash in this league .. its proven week in week out , prime example the guy against Chester was having a blinder until the red card n then lost the plot missing 2 stone wall pens in the latter stages.
Maybe the Board have done the cost / benefit analysis of promotion and have calculated that it’s financially sounder to remain in NLN.
I have being thinking this for a while now.Could well be true Rene … lets face it if we were lucky to go up how would we get on the the NL with this bunch.
What is the right call for the club to make now ?
Could another manager get these players to stay second in the league and have a chance of winning the playoffs or do they write this season off now by leaving things alone and risk losing a lot of revenue between now and the end of the season ?Real tough call for the BovD TJO .. Saturday JD must know hes in the last chance saloon so come 5pm im sure things will be clearer.. loose hes gotta be gone win he stays to fight another day ..then there is the real prospect of a draw and what then ?????
Indeed Rene.
IMO anything other than an away win at BS on Saturday and JD could be toast.. im predicting a 1-1 draw just to add doubt into the B ov D decision. For the record n purely hypothetical …

If Barrows, Kouogun and Kelly don’t start then it’s definitely a “jobs for the boys” situation.
If Clarke and Youmbi don’t start then Jimmy will have to admit they were the wrong signings.
If Wilson doesn’t start then he clearly has no future at the club.First team shake up most certainly required .. be interested to see JDs next move for Saturday after last nights debacle.
TJO .. not so much burnt out but fans must be feeling terribly let down and loosing interest fast with seemingly a total lack of passion and professionalism within the first team squad .. by all accounts to a man all were a disgrace last night …. so WTF has happened and is going on JD in his interviews is still what a great group of guys he has.
If the same Scunny rock up as did last night dropping points at BS on Saturday would not be a surprise ..it would surely pile on pressure for the board to act… IMO i cant see any results forcing them to sack JD with only 9 games until the end of season n his contract.
Also doesn’t help that the players have effectively been told they’re getting a pay cut at the end of the season regardless of what division we’re in. Hardly going to inspire you is it!
What do they expect the board to do ? The club is more important than them.
They should be inspired, who is going to be interested in offering them future employment with this attitude. If they don’t want to be here tell the board now and let them go.
Call a board meeting with all staff … get to the route cause of this disaster and as posted above get rid of those not committed and dont wanna be here…if left much longer the issues will just fester and cause more division.
Hilton knew what he was doing when he appointed him. Feel sorry for him but he needs to admit he is out of his depth.
Agree ..i feel sorry for JD, nice guy bags of enthusiam but not up to the job in other ways , he was all part of Hiltons plan .. DH was never gonna be around long term and he set JD up to fail and sadly hes doing a great job at it… for whatever reason the players are letting the fans down massively and should have more pride in their chosen profession.
Not pleasant waking up to that scoreline … tho cant say im surprised with Darlo on a roll and the Iron spluttering along.
Probably about time Scunny fans recognize the following facts
We are crap and playing the wrong style of football , set up all wrong and our players are no better than most in the NLN and more so appear to have zero interest and pride in their profession
Some thing badly wrong behind the scenes re JD Plummer(what does he bring to the table) and PLAYING STAFF hopefully it will come to light and be rectified in whatever way required…
2 or 3 of the senior high profile first team players making waves ? … has WhitEhalls shithousery (he looks tho doesnt give a toss n wants gone) manifested in the dressing room to get JD out ?Promotion is very doubtful now ..playoff will be a let down IF we get in them which we still should.
Im predicting JD will be here to end of contract/season and take it from there… regardless he should not be given an extention as would be found out badly in the NL.
The towns businesses , fans and council have all done their part as have Michelle and the board ..sadly the guys who make it tick HAVE NOT and are an embarrassment , what a total disgraceful way to repay the 6500 home fans from the previous Saturday.
Rightly booed off at full time.
On to Bishop Stortford away who have lost the last 12 .. a loss there n JD could be toast but i doubt it.

Dont work there or know any 1 just read the news and like listening. You seem to slag them off every week but r you just trying to be funny?! I did not here yesterday cos I was at the game. Great turnout as you say. Isn’t he a young lad who is doin games now? You have right to have your say but why not email his boss to help him get better. Where in 6th level so not going to get someone as good as Motty!!
Im not sure of the HR commentators names but yesterday was Jed Penworthy i think .. TBF he wasnt bad and at least no tech issues this week, i admit to whinging about Mr Wishhart and i do try to find an alternate listening source when hes on the mic…yesterday Chester live commentary was pretty ggod as i dropped on it for a 15 mins for an away prospective, also recently i used the 2 Rushall Olympic fans who did it from the stands at GPAA .. it would be great if some one out there could do a watch along yt vid same as Simon of Walsal fan TV fame (great channel).
Sounded like a real rip snorter of a game n a great atmos ..shame couldnt nick a deserved late winner.
Just our luck Darlo appear to have hit form and scoring for fun … 3 points away Tuesday will be a tough ask.

Now you’re having a go at Torps!! And you’re clearly obsessed with that Charlton bloke who I thought was ok. Could you do any better…get a life mate. RH commentary won’t be around forever anyway with all their cutbacks so no one for you to slag off behind a keyboard.
Do you or a family member work for HR or some affiliation there too ? you seem overly protective re my view on the services they offer.
I reserve my right to comment via whatever media suits and not in a position to arrange a meeting with them in person to discuss my opinion .. to clarify not slagging anyone off just my opinion and IMO HR service is all to often very hit n miss both professionally and technically.
Yesterdays commentary was slightly improved though still the main guy was corrected by Torps on numerous occasions for getting names, facts and even the score wrong… read my tongue in cheek comment on Torps again and tell me you arent hearing the Rigsby mode now n then.
Great game , amazing att well done to all.
