Fool me once shame on you
Fool me twice shame on me

feeling a tad more positive after the Kane comments i wrongly assumed England might up their game so awoke like an idiot at 1-45am for the game .. and what was served up same old BORING NEGATIVE CRAP .. was back in bed by 2-45 am… got to feel for thousands of fans who have traveled to witness these 3 group stage performances which quite honestly have been dire.

Thats me done until Southgate departs.

Just reinforces my thoughts that i done really give a sh8t about the EPL or even the England national team .. SCUNTHORPE UNITED are my one n only team… (though i do hope Southend find away to survive)

the term “Poison Chalice” springs to mind … cant see the likes og Pep or Jurgen destroying their career legacy trying to sort out the clusterfook that is the England set up in recent years .. Southgate already making noises about stepping down which is a welcome result IMO

‘So many nations like Romania, Austria and Turkey have impressed so far, but I don’t think their players are as good as England’s.’

    Who could disagree with that?

Indeed the teams you mentioned have impressed ..look hungry n fit and never stop attacking and pressing no sitting back and lack of endeavor.

Watched the Slovak / Ukr game last night and the same goes there…and an excellent win by my dark horses Austria.

Can we have someone come on and tell me Southgate is doing a good job?

I think Southgate is doing a great job …

at getting the 3 Lions home early .. dire stuff again and hes got to go ASAP .. dull sideways and backwards crap tippy tappy zero penetration and crosses into the box worse than Scunny under JD n that was bad.

Scrap through a poor group n get whipped by a decent side a fitting end to Southgates reign.

Pretty sure the problem isn’t a dearth of happiness amongst England supporters expecting to beat every team by a number of goals

That reminds me of the Iron faithful some how thinking we would piss the league and batter all who came before us last season.

As far as signings go i just dont feel overly enthused by this one

Whitehall and Carlton will be first choice. Who did you expect we would sign as a back up option ?

Hang on WG i never dissed the newbie ..just said i was a tad under enthused .. obviously but hey ho wait n see i hope the lad gets his 15 plus goals tally as add than on to others we might even make the play offs again

Indeed welcome young wish you well and those 15 plus goals a season you mentioned.

As far as signings go i just dont feel overly enthused by this one ..less so than Charlton with the long hard to say surname fella.

Also whilst the SG came in in our hour of need it also seems like a lot of work is needed re catering iN both equipment and staff . training hopefully this new fella from HKR will get it sorted.

I have no idea what if anything has gone on behind the scenes, but the club is in good hands with the four shareholding directors whom I fully support.

For the record Simon built up a relationship with WHAM to try to limit the damage inflicted on our beloved club.

He worked behind the scenes with a lot of other people to resurrect our club and spent a lot of time and effort doing so.

I hope that Simon has not left the board on bad terms and is still a major player in the fortunes of Scunthorpe United FC in the future.

The club is in a totally better place than it was under Ernest or WHAM but there is still a long way to go before the club can return to League football and we need people like Simon around to make that happen.

I will point to the global companies who have sponsored us due to Simon’s connections primarily in the motor industry as one positive example.

This whole post reads like a statement from Simon.

That was first impression when i read the post Apollo.

Biggest Wannabe there’s been, joined Swann when Swann had lost the room, joined not so Sharp in the doomed takeover, hung on to Hiltons coat tails, and finally gets on to a decent looking board but in a very small way.
So let’s have a round of applause for St Simon and now f off.

Indeed ..been lingering around SUFC like a fart in a taxi … most obviously for whatever reason him latching on to Hilton and DH played him like a fiddle.

Still waiting for a statement from Elliot clarifying why he resigned. IMO the way the fans have rallied round in support of the club surely they do deserve regular updates as to details re ins and outs behind the scenes.

Tahina left with no bad blood between anyone, she did put a “Mission Completed” letter on the tuther side, she’d done what was needed for the club so just time to go for her, we should just wish her well.

Agree .. with regard to Tahina the statement she put out covered all the circumstances re her joining the board , her role within it and the subsequent leaving perfectly … dont know about anything “kicking off” so lets see if Mr Elliot can offer the same professionalism when enlightening fans as to his departure as Tahina did…obviously if he see the need to so.

3 times he’s being a board member now, and of course got his 15 minutes of fame at being an owner. Lets hope that’s the last we see of him.

I must of nodded off as i missed the 15 mins when he was an owner .. remind me about what time was this ? .. he leaves behind a huge void to fill as just who will make the tea and wash up at BoD meetings now ??.

Member on the SUFC Fans FB page came up with understandable reasoning behind Elliots resignation as simply the 4 directors who have chucked in a decent lump and are equal shareholders will make up the BovD this meant that those not wishing to stay for personal reasons as in the case of Tahina or others not putting adequate funds in and being left out the loop.. seems pretty fair to me though im sure having played a blinder to get into pole position Mr Elliot isnt too happy at being nudged into resigning.

    Life goes on

Money back from Hilton .. THATS A CRACKER as Frank Carsons dressing room would say ! more chance of platting snow.

Back to the footy … whilst i am some what happy most of the players have signed to stay lets not forget they werent good enough to get it done last season under JD ..hoping its a diffferent end result with AB at the helm which would sort of make the point just how good or bad JD was whilst here.
Loosing Ogle (cant blame the fella for moving) and failing to come to a deal with Butterfield is truly sad but life goes on.
Re Beestin .. inconsistent injury prone maybe should of kept Pugh n let Beestin go ?? .. unless of course AB plays him differently.
New signings thin on the ground hoping for at least another 3 players PLUS the assistant to AB whoever thats gonna be.

I get the impression from listening to Michelle’s interviews that she felt let down by backing Dean in the transfer market only to see him sign a bunch of players he never used.

Agree .. she was bang on as well, again (in hindsight) IMO 100% the correct decision to get rid of JD

This issue well cleared up by Michelle in her latest interview.

I’ve not been able to listen to it all, yet, but I did catch the first couple of minutes. She also cleared up what Elliott has put into the club, financially. He paid for some training kit.

Bloody hell he’ll be applying to the Vatican for a sainthood after buying that training kit.

You forgot the freedom of Scunthorpe .. hes already got the key ………. to the AAGP broom cupboard , onnee kidding it was actually an exceptional bit of astute business by Simon Elliot to land a seat on the BOD for buying some training kits which were gratefully sponsored by Jason Threadgold Co… hence forth his allocated area of commercial director hopefully pop concerts at GP and an evening with Roy Chubby Brown are in the wings

    4 more please AB

sign midfield/winger cover when Law and or Roberts get injured
    sign another proven striker
    sign a right back
sign a box to box quick utility player (Kai Corbett still without a club)

    plus
Loan in some hungry youngsters including a back up keeper and striker

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but thinking back it was a clusterfook at times ..just why Youmbi
Leesley ever came is head shaking .. other loan players who just warmed the bench like Clarke and sadly Corbett who wasnt given enough game time IMO.

Thank gord JD was shown the door as this ill thought out poorly executed method may well have just carried on if he had stayed as would more failure.

Sounds like both Beestin and Boycey are staying … lets say AB has 3 more signings to make where do members think he should target with regard to positions and is 3 enough , im hoping for MINIMUM another 4 plus trialists to get to the 21 – 22 squad number plus then any loan business that suits.

Where they do the interviews is an echo chamber, the interview rambled.

Basically they will all be fit – well those here will be pending 2 offers to be accepted or rejected. Certainly JD was repetitive, blamed the same things every time. Did feel sorry for him, was obviously out of his depth.

Going by Michelles latest interview if JD had stayed it would be a carbon copy of last seasons over budget failures… IMO great bloke very passionate but in over his level.. enough of JD ..AB talked well and seems very confident in the team he is trying to assemble.. agree with earlier post the interview did ramble a wee bit more so the room was like inside a toilet and echoes made some parts a bit unclear.

    AB is growing on me

great interview .. got to love this ladies loyalty, honesty our club is in safe hands.

By the sounds of it JD wanted to keep the same highly paid team and probably style n tactics that failed last season so hats off to the BOD for making the decision to get rid.

im sure as time goes AB will gain media confidence

He seems confident enough to me, and has things to say. He’s just not very good at speaking clearly.

Just watched the vid in full and i thought he seemed very laid back .. there were some unclear wording but i put that down to the accoustics of the interview location , the room lacked decent sound quality.
Very cagey on who his assistant will be … anyone got any info ..or even a guess ???

I presume Michelle has split the ownership up to not only recoup some of her funds but also to spread the decision making.
No mention of Simon Elliot getting in the owner mix … i take it hes still on the BoD but nothing to do with ownership .. very handy as he can carry on making the tea and hoovering up when theres a meeting.

Much prefer AB interview style to JDs twitchy uncomfortable manner , im sure as time goes AB will gain media confidence especially if results are positive..
Did i read correctly that Will Evans had a slight dig at Dean after penning a new 2 yr deal .. something similar to when i heard JD left i was hoping to stay .. ??
