In fairness wasnt a lot to cheer about especially first half .. although indeed still toppa the league i just get the impression many Iron fans assume we are better than what we actually are. I hope this defeat is a blip and doesnt lead to a turbulent run a la Kiddy wh have done just that.
My pre season pick for promotion Chester going along nicely after a dicky start and will be a litmus test as to just how good or average we are.
heres the Scarbor version of Ironarmy…images of the away end and can see just how bad the view must of been.

dont know why but i just had a feeling this would be our first loss, this feeling was compounded when seeing the starting line up..had bad day written all over it and so it transpired.
Very poor first half followed by an improved second but zero pace cutting edge up front which was obvious looking at the line up.
Its been a cracking start to the season but have the performances really been that good (convincing) ..i dont think so and the wheels could easily come off without strengthening up front , all we need is Roberts to get crocked again and it really would make it hard to stay where we are now.
Wasnt impressed by AB line up .. Evans in wrong position when Brogan Rowley Shrimpton on the bench and surey Fishy should have started in place of Whall…Cant help think the fans where let down especially on the first half showing.
Question is where can the club find a decent striker who would come here on loan ??? not easy but i hope they can and quickly.
Looked like a terrible ground for away fans negative comments re overcrowding and no view of the game etc etc and the pitch had more repairs than Del Boys Robin Reliant… still i hope everyone had a pleasant day at the seaside candy floss n all ..just a shame the footy had to spoil it.
light weight in attack was bound to happen at some point running with such a small squad just come earlier than expected… defense needs to play well tomorrow or we get beat for sure.
3-2 to Boro looks tempting for a sneaky 10 quid wager at 35/1 ..
Having already predicted a high scoring draw i have decided to go with my head n change that to a high scoring loss .. listening to AB re injuries and the pitch etc just makes me think Scarboro will nick it… we got to loose sometime could well be tomorrow… just know Bennet n Cam Wilson will play a blinder but also Boro do look pretty tasty up front (think its Tear danger man) so our lot gotta be well up for it in defense.
At least the weather looks nice so the candy floss quoffing stroll along the prom may soften the blow if the result goes against us.
Hope im wrong ..its been known to happen before.
This fixture has got a few goals in it for sure ..
im going 3-3
Scunny 3 Newc 0
Att 1899 (has to be doesnt it ?)
Wouldnt be surprised to see fringe players
Shrimpton
Boyce
Rowley
Brogan
Law
Campbell
all start.im going for 1-1 .. reply back at AAGP
Bullseye!
10/1
Just seen this .. .. been out out on the piss.. havent even logged in or heard a match report but what can i say ??? apart from i am brilliant 55555
hopefully no injuries picked up today also important.
Are the FA not interested in this ‘potential’ situation?
My thoughts exactly especially after the recent warning / slap on the wrists…
Be smashing at some point in the future for Scunny to draw either Spalding or Matlock in a competitive fixture..
Wouldnt be surprised to see fringe players
Shrimpton
Boyce
Rowley
Brogan
Law
Campbell
all start.im going for 1-1 .. reply back at AAGP

To be fair he did buy land for a new ground.

Or maybe it was a bit of a fib.
I had forgotten about the land on Glebe rd i wonder what happened to that ?? did the signs ever come down ??
The 1899 scam … i guess that may have been sorted by the new owners ..
bottom line is in the early days quite afew were taken in by WHAM (me included) alas he was and probably still is a wrongurn though i must say hes obviously still living rent free in lots of Scunny fans heads going by the number of threads on BRU at the mo (thanks Rene your a gem 55555)…Nice to see a Matlock fan come on another thread and comment re their share system and the “mystery” investor rumoured to be you know who.
Seems Scunny fans are the new Bury fans shedding light tp MTFC if WHAMs life away from football has ceased (didnt last long did it).
Pray for Matlock Town ..
we should have a sweep stake as to what name the new investor will be using.
What’s happened to Simon Elliot? Does he. No longer attend or just removed from his perch?
Good question nary a mention or sighting of the lesser spotted Elliot.. the days of strutting on the pitch fist pumpin the DRE are well n truly gone ..maybe he has quite literally fallen out of love for the club..heyho.
As for Mr Herbery out early so can fit more rioters in the jails possibly .. wasnt he banned for AAGP?
Reports / rumours coming in overnight that Hilton is the new owner of Matlock Town ?? if true seems the FAs warning fell on deaf ears ..also now being debated on the SUFC fans FB page where onr poster who previously supported Hilton to the death now wants him thrown in jail.
One can only pray for Matlock town IF ITS TRUE THAT IS.
Bet Jimmy now wishing he hadnt jumped at the Spalding job as they are deep in trouble and surely WHAM would make him his first signing after his “success” at Scunny.
Nooooooooooo theyve equalized
all the other games commentary is fine .. but i dont car about them only Scunny .. cant get the NLTV either , all ive got is action updates via flashscore .. im a tad peeved
Found the radio commentary link but its blocked due to tech or contractual issues … anyone else getting this same rolling message when logging in … second time this season its been blocked.
Would take a draw tonight .. and thats my prediction .. 2-2
Many thanks for the messages guys.
good luck to JD .. cracking bloke .. he remained diligent and focused in our clubs darkest days and even with the Hilton monkey on his back he did OK .. wishing him success at SFC
Been off the radar last few days .. only saw the fantastic Kiddy win today as very sadly my brother passed away suddenly on his birthday and have been attending his funeral in Northern Thailand , indeed a week that has and will change life for ever..
I am now the last remaining from our direct family, very sad as he left not only a beautiful wife but a young son.On the footy front …..i hope all keep a level head and take a game at a time .. no more HMS piss the league this year as it made us look twats last season.
As for Curzon A they stuffed us last season so a bit of payback would not go a miss.
For me football is and always be just a game , i will follow SUFC where ever they play ..
There is more to life than the footy … thought it does help keeping ones mind active in times of intense grief.
UTI
Actual appointed managers Hill Cox Hurst 3 worst in my memory ..
One of the strangest post match manager interviews ive seen seemed frustrated almost to tears … little man syndrome , wife wears the trousers and wet the bed as a child.
The man is a Dick ..as they say in Geordie land Y i hes a Dickman.
Just tuned in on the way to my daughter’s, at first thought it was Radio Sydney.
Indeed radio Wallagongadingdong !!
Whall , Charlton and Roberts all start… Kelly in , Beestin on bench quite a shake up ..still no Shrimpton.
Scales and Clunan gonna be very busy tonight.
STICKING WITH MY SCORE DRAW PREDICTION
‘ Just wish he’d go Whitehall, Carlton; Roberts as a front three, would scare most NLN defences.’
Love to see that ..but realistically cant see AB going with it… it would mean Scales or Beestin miss out.
Yeah I’d take a draw tomorrow and a win next Friday night, four points from the next two games would be an excellent return looking at the opposition we face.
Yep same here… how ever it happens 4 points from the next 2 fixtures would be excellent.
Im going for a score draw tonight.
Post removed
duplicate post of Chorley TV vid already posted.my crystal ball is away at the repair shop .. but suppose a lot it depends on ones age.
Im 60 next bday so going on my prediction below the jury is still out.
3-5 years to get out of the NLN
Then
5-10 years to get out the NL at the right end and back into the EFL.Thats a min of 8 max of 15 years could well be pushing up daisies by then.
Living abroad will give you more years…. so I say yes you’ll see it !
Planning a trip back at some point(covid n Bizz issues put paid to my last trip back to Blighty) and TBH i wont mind where the Iron are plying their trade at that time just be brilliant to be back at GP for as many games as time allows.
