IIRC somebody with knowledge of the EFL loan rules said that the outstanding loan meant we could only sign players on a free.

I’m sure there was plenty of options available on frees for the right price. How much in transfer fees did the respective new clubs pay for Gilliad, Easa and Van Veen?

Watching and listening and somethings are going on.

Really, I bet hiring in a plumber to unblock the drains is about as interesting as it’ll get

We have a reasonable team of triers, however, the problem is we haven’t signed anyone with genuine quality. A couple of players who can lift the team, make things happen and most importantly, stay fit would make all the difference. OK, they may cost a few quid, but we are losing far more revenue through depleted gates and will lose even more money next season when the enviable has happened

Why, do they have a “man” of the match in women’s football?

“The club will pay no rent until it can afford to pay a market rent. It is fully protected, in that it has security of tenure for over 100 years and cannot be moved, or developed unless a new stadium and training facilities are provided elsewhere and that is whilst I am here, or anyone else. It will not be borrowed against and will remain a community football club for all our and our offspring’s lifetimes”.

“I will build us a brand new state of the art 12000 seater stadium on a greenfield site”.

“I will now build the new stadium on a different greenfield site”.

“The club’s existing stadium will be rebuilt in stages”.

“I will build a new block of apartments to help fund the club”

Now, remind us which statements we should believe?

You forgot “the team will play exciting and entertaining football”

Come of it UTI99. The few seasons of relative success in league 1 have come at a great cost that we are paying for now. The club has been disgracefully miss-managed by your masters

And does anyone, hand on heart, think we’ll ever get back into the league, given a management who appear clueless, and a chairman who apparently no longer cares?

I can see us bouncing back in time but it could be a long haul. It took Barrow 48 years. One things for sure, it won’t be under the present regime

I doubt Northampton will be as bad as Tranmere were. I don’t expect massive changes but I think Scrimshaw and one of the new midfield loanee’s will start.

What’s the point if we’re just a finishing school for other club’s players?

I agree to a certain extent. However, number one priority is to stay in the league and I think these lads give us a better chance. By all means give our players game time but only at the right time

Would have thought a wide player would have been a priority. I guess we aren’t going to bother with wingers this season

Yes a new owner will make our players turn into Messi, Ronaldo etc.

    Cloud cuckoo land.e

Perhaps not, but a new owner might put a proper scouting system in place capable of signing players who are fit for purpose instead of relying on one of his lad’s to do it

Ah yes it’s well known all those clubs relegated to the national league are in ‘extinction’ now.

Perhaps not, but a good few have had to start up again as Phoenix clubs following mismanagement by their owner’s. I’ve no desire to watch an AFC Scunthorpe team playing in the NECL

Maybe some of our fans need to experience 4 seasons in the National League before appreciating the EFL?

I think we’ll get the chance sooner rather than later

I am not keen on 3 at the back……
We are the home team and again it wasn’t football to win the missing fans back

I don’t think we have much choice with the number of injuries we currently have and the quality of the squad

5 goals for Walsall and Newport last season in 30 appearances, and 5 foot 9 tall.

Professional career, 5 goals in 11 starts & 21 subs appearances.

That’s where the problems started! the day the chairman sacked graham for some reason only known to the two of them, it has been downhill ever since that day.

I find it amusing when supporters hark back and say its all gone down hill since Alexander was sacked. Let’s not forget that he was managing during a time when money was no object. Dropping players, playing players out of position and negative team formation ultimately led to a loss in form and his sacking. I don’t think there was too many fans sorry to see him go at the time. If still here, I doubt he would fair any better than Cox under the current restraints brought on from above.

Couldn’t knock the effort but dreadfully short of quality. Kenyon and Bunn don’t look fit. I just hope that Swindon are one of the better teams.

We’ve a wealth of attacking talent. Let’s use it and get the ball forward quicker to put teams on the back foot. This slow tippy tappy side to side football just invites the opposition to get everyone back behind the ball. If we go down, at least we’ll have given it a go

I am still unsure about Spence and Beestin to be honest.

Too right. It was painfully obvious that central mid-field was lacking last season. Cox must get his recruitment right in this area if we are to progress next season. Problem is we are about 9 players short of a half decent team and I doubt the budget will stretch that far.
