Swann had accepted no responsibility for anything. Sympathy should be reserved for those who may struggle to pay mortgages – the employees of SUFC. We now appear to be under another transfer embargo and there has been talk of unpaid tax – but we are suggesting sympathy with a person who has destroyed a community asset.

If he handed SUFC over for £1 let the club play at least one season until we had time to build elsewhere then I would offer nothing more than silence against his antics (certainly no sympathy). Never forget we have a squad made up of players who really should be part time and will be in NLN next year – as the very best outcome for where we are at the minute. Sadly liquidation is just around the corner.

You could feel sorry for him if he tried to do the decent thing. He isn’t, he is still refusing to take any responsibility. He has killed a club, Scunthorpe history and some of those at the club may struggle to pay mortgages or worse around a time of year they have to put brave fronts on for family not knowing whether they will get paid. None of us know where he was getting the money from to feed this habit. He is blaming a shady bookkeeper for allowing this but still refuses to front up to fans and come clean. Elliot and co need to buy SUFC for a pound and let him have the land use the money to start again. Him and his like care nothing about the average fan (we’re morons don’t forget).

Goalkeeper top priority – has been for years. We have to bear in mind we’re bottom of NL with the freefall still in full effect. Are we going to get a decent keeper? Doubt it. Even so Dewhurst is worse than Rory who was the worst we’ve had for decades. Taft needs binning as well – not a footballer by any stretch

Swann gone is great but a squad with players who are any good and actually give a sh*t is a pressing priority. GK 2 CB’s 2DM’s 2AM’s a striker some wingers the list is long

On the plus side there’ll be loads of shirts sold as mementos of the last shirt in the club’s history

Bookies rarely wrong 1/4 on is pretty much nailed on. Considering Torquay’s odds who are close to us it shows the bookies know that the club won’t last that long and if they do certainly won’t stay up with no money coming in

I haven’t been for a long while, whilst the Stench of the Swann family drifts through the club I won’t be back, the worrying thing is each weekend I become a little more detached from SUFC to the point of inevitability. Its beyond disgusting what one family can do to a club. Feels like there’s nothing left in it

The London consortium would be Ian Sharp surely? Long time Scunny fan and Film Producer/Director. He is based in London isn’t he? I thought he was in with Simin Elluots lot!

The old computer glitch eh! Advertising for jobs – they should be advertising shirts for sale for Xmas, if they had the money to buy some

I think we’re surviving month to month at the minute. Wages will be a big determinant. Even if its delayed by a few hours/days like last month it is a sign of a deeper problem.

He’s probably got a £6m mortgage on it and now realises he can only get £3m for it. The only route out would be to sell to developers rather than those interested in a football club, and there would only be one way he could do that.

If it was me (and it never will be) I would just buy SUFC for a £1, let him have his land and stadium and then groundshare with Donny for a year or so whilst building a new ground with the support of the council and possibly the lakes developer (which has just been sold apparently).

All very unlikely but the only driver is to get this family as far away from SUFC as possible as quickly as possible

Swann isn’t selling. It’s as close as it’s ever been and it’s never been close.

Scunny has always played exciting attacking football under a 442, Swann’s era has been defined by each and every manager switching to 532 (352). It’s really bizarre.

Depends on the terms of this lease (if it exists). If SUFC don’t exist then no barrier for land development – that’s how he’ll benefit

So the deal that was never on in the first place is off. Swann does not intend to sell – he just needed the next excuse.

Can you explain what evidence you have to tell us that the deal is off? (That is, the deal that you say was never on in the first place!!).

PS how do you know that there was no deal on the first place?

I want Swan gone as much as the next man, but all this BS is getting somewhat monotonous.

I was merely commenting on the on/off rumours and the fact Swann always appears to have an excuse for things go belly up. I have no evidence of anything –
like all others. I assumed, incorrectly, that this was quite clear in the wording; all very tongue in cheek. If its getting monotonous, don’t read the comments/twitter/social media.

All a bit convenient for Swann these rumours – close to going bust but two interested parties – wonder if Bru can ask him if has seen proof of funds yet

I doubt the lad will play for us again. Seriously question whether he’ll play football again. He’s just one of those unfortunate people who can’t seem to get a lucky turn.
Feel for him but as we’re close to going bust we have bigger concerns.

Journo a Iron Fan Aidan says there is something in the bid (which bid I do not know!). Let’s hope there is some movement and get Swanns out of the club by Xmas. I would start dragging my sons back to GP 😂

It will be a slow death – he won’t sell for footballing reasons. The only way he gets anywhere near the money he wants involves the destruction of SUFC and the sale of the land. I feel for the club’s employees, youth players, volunteers, they must see the destruction first hand .

Where is this fan director chap? Not much of a conduit really

Same Les, trying to deal with the palliative position of the club is very hard but need to prepare for the disappearance of the club.

The squad and management is threadbare, we have a squad barely capable in NLN. I don’t know what to think anymore, do I prepare for life without football because this owner isn’t going to sell and he isn’t going to put any money in, nothing stopping him taking money out – we’ve hit the iceberg its just a question of when to abandon ship.
