Thankfully Scarborough suffered a similar fate today so now face a tricky away game Tuesday.

Scarborough were away today, their replay on Tuesday is at home

Aye but the point being made was they have an extra game too before we meet next Saturday, sort of evens up the game time played by both squads. Hopefully we win in 90 minutes on Tuesday and Scarborough go to extra time then lose on pens, might as well really piss them off before we go there and win.

    Really Ironawe!

Yep the more money brought in the better, today’s crowd size sounded rubbish so hopefully the home attendance in the replay will bring in useful revenue.

Excellent draw for Newcastle Town, the money from today and the replay will be welcome to both teams. Sounds their keeper had a blinder second half to keep them in it but we had to come from behind so fair play to them. With seven changes today and a replay to finish things off I’m guessing AB won’t be too concerned overall.

Nice summary by Siderite and yes I along with IFA and many others were completely taken in and deceived by WHAM. Trying to see the best in people doesn’t always work out but the main takeaway is surely we have all learned from the DH experience and as a result are more streetwise around club owners and any other club ownership in the future. Hopefully we are well settled as a football club with our current ownership and I commend them so far on their willingness and openness to keep fans in the loop surrounding the clubs future. No matter how young or how old we all are, everyday is still a learning day in life.

When they release Herbert will he be helping WHAM distribute the sherbet? Heard he has a nose for it.

Agree with that point about Roberts although a person of his ability should be able to flourish in whatever midfield/forward role he is asked to play and I agree also that he is improving in his new role this season.

It’s a simple question. Do you believe the miracle, there was nothing then there was something, and you can get life from non-life.. or do you believe the miracle,in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth? One must be true.

It could turn out that either of them is correct, even your preferred version. My preferred version could be correct, do you agree?

He can’t agree, God won’t let him, he’s in his head innit.

‘All the talk at the gym this morning’

Basically you and the person on the cross trainer next to yours?

Does this mean the stereotype surrounding gym goers may be accurate, just a bunch of meatheads? Lol.

Wasn’t trying to alter your point just explaining why Glanford Park sounds so 1980s, if built in the 2010s it might have been sponsored by our current local authority and called the NL Arena, it doesn’t matter its not important most ground names are bland IMO.

Agreed keep the money rolling in whatever they want to call it, it will always be GP to the Iron faithful, couldn’t give a toss what the press call it long as the Dosh rolls in, remember, no Dosh no club, that’s how it works.

Always been such a shite name though, Glanford Park. Very 1980s.

Could it be because it was built in the 1980s? Old Trafford, Anfield, both named after city districts both boring as hell but its tradition, sometimes tradition is boring thats what makes it so English.

I guess we knew days like yesterday would come along, so frustrating at the sloppiness but loving some of the creative stuff that opened Warrington up at times, just the finish was lacking to complement the build up. Looking at the league table tells us our start has been excellent but yesterday’s overall performance was disappointing but hey ho on we go.

I never sing it either but it doesn’t make me any less passionate about my country or it’s football team than those that do, it’s just a matter of choice.

Rumour has it you hum the Liechtenstein one. ;-)

I do like the French anthem, can’t beat a bit of a revolutionary singalong.

Think it was Humberside commentary being used on the Iron clips I’ve seen, the sound was poor and disappeared completely in a wall of crackle and distortion when Alfie scored against Kidderminster. Surely not too much too ask for a radio station to get the sound right although I know internet drop out seems to effect the quality sometimes.

Surely the perfect game this Saturday to give that ” complete performance ” AB says we still haven’t produced yet. Home advantage, big partizan crowd cheering the team on, ok best not to get carried away but we could be in an even stronger position as league leaders because all the pieces are in place for the Iron to really deliver this next home game.

Tell you all what the whole thing feels different, the team, the squad fitness and attitude, the management of said team and different tactics used from game to game, the willingness to change shape to change structure to use subs in a more logical way and not forgetting the feel good factor and incredible buzz amongst all the supporters particularly at home games. Guys there will be rough patches to come along the journey as we pick our way through 46 league games but the foundations are in place throughout the club and it’s fanbase to be successful this season. Just feels a great vibe to me.

I guess we are all guilty sometimes of misinterpreting someone else’s post and responding without properly thinking things through. Then again some people write posts in a certain way which could well lead to misinterpretation then reply with a different interpretation when questioned about it. Wow where’s the psychiatrist when you need one?

Nice to see Shrimpton get a short run out near the end last night, he’s got onto the bench now and I’d like to see him given more games in the future, I’m sure Andy will give him a run in the side at the appropriate time.

First touch was poor, second touch appalling! Didn’t really notice him ‘do’ anything much after that.

Shows he needs more game time then, he would not be in the squad if the manager thought he could not help the team play winning football.

Sounded a very hard working and difficult away performance but isn’t that what happens a few games every season. Didn’t Shankly once say ” a good team goes away from home, doesn’t play particularly well but finds a way to win”, well so far this season that is our football team, very early days yes but what a brilliant start. Well done boys UTI
