February 9, 2025 at 7:30 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #298642I enjoyed Steve Wright he changed how people thought about DJ’s and presenting on the radio, bit of a pioneer in this country although the Americans had been doing some similar for awhile, think that’s where he got his format from.
If those numbers are accurate Mick then that should be enough to tell them the idea is dead in the water, we have the Trust, that’s all we need because it keeps the focal point on just the club with no other distractions, we don’t need break off faction groups.

February 9, 2025 at 4:36 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #298637Sadly this reminds me of working in grim and grimy Scunny workshops in the 80s, with radio 1 compulsorily blaring out the speakers. As if the day wasn’t miserable enough, having to endure the likes of Steve Wright and Simon Bates all day. Torture.
Thought Mr Angry had his moments TBH although most of them just made me seethe.
Actually NI Thomas Becket was probably the last AOC meeting bill’s criteria.
We gotta to get out of this place, if it’s the last thing we ever do!
Eric Burdon about to sue for copyright breach.
Can you name any previous AOC who fitted your criteria bill?
Yeah probably his best interview yet on the radio this season but being 5 unbeaten and 1 defeat in 13 helps there, we all remember the sulky ill tempered interview from a few months back but he’s learned from that and as a young manager he’s shown he’s capable of changing things round team wise when needed. He got criticized for being slow to change tactics and having a poor interview technique when things were going badly but I’m delighted for Andy that he’s learning all the time and as a result he and the team are moving in the right direction now.

Was the Meeting well attended last night to set up the Group ?
Couldn’t you attend to satisfy your curiosity?
Had a bit of a chuckle at the write up on the Scunny website.
the shot moved so viciously that it had Fitzsimons well beaten and the ball would’ve been destined for the top corner if not for the intervention of the post that caused the ball to ricochet back into play before being cleared.
Well done that goalpost.
No more proof needed, if the goal posts and I presume the cross bars are all going to move to stop us conceding then surely promotion is assured.
Any update on the Unity Launch at the AAGP ???
Earl fell asleep, Jerry spilled his pint and Stu disappeared into a cupboard with a blow up doll, nothing new really, lol
We are bang in form, one defeat in 13, 5 wins on the bounce, might be dreaming but if we beat Curzon, Kidderminster and Chester we can order the champagne.
Calm down calm down and have a cuppa tea
Did I mention dreaming? Lol

414’s been totally absent since Chorley away. No credit where it’s due from him.
I think the Big Billy Goat Gruff nudged him back under his bridge.

Is Carlton turning out to be the guy that just doesn’t do it for us or is there more to it than that?
What have you swallowed?
Maybe his missus did and he’s still feeling happy.

AB has shown in recent games that by having a go at teams and passing the ball quickly on the floor ( not all the time I admit but more often than before) we can beat teams and score goals. Yes we appear to be more vulnerable defensively as a result but in the main this approach has been working. Warrington can’t score for toffee just go out, pass it quickly and beat them, don’t even think about pissing around like we used too.

I nominate Trump, he’s such a fine upstanding truthful genuine person, plus he could convert Westminster Abbey into a casino.
Bring back Dave you know it makes sense!
What an absolute cult.
Wish you’d sort your spelling out mate.

Did Squeak Titterton live on cheese ? had he never heard of WD40 ?
Why are you referring to yourself in the third person awaywego?
Do you think he’s attempting to put his sordid past behind him now he’s older and supposedly wiser?
Did toppo ever get to be a rich man?, oh sorry that’s Topol.
Did they all dress up as women or was it just Awaywego?
If the West hadn’t stuck it’s nose in after WW2 none of this would be happening now, as for the orange faced idiot this is right up his street for headline grabbing, completely bonkers idea.
Is there an echo in here in here in here?

” Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon “, ah shades of the Unity man back in his carvery days at the GP restaurant.
Dig out your old White Album and put on the George Harrison penned ” Piggies”, good listen.
Jimmy didn’t fancy getting hammered by a superior team with a superior manager, he always liked running away from good teams when he managed us.
Just shows what dogma can do to a man’s brain, would rather work against the world economy than with it to ensure all get a fairer deal long term.
Saw the thread title and thought it was about who could lift the heaviest sheep above their heads.
