Rene WG clearly did not understand your question and TBH it’s not the first time, I think your wasting your time replying to him, just my opinion.

Sorry, Flint Town. I must have seen that he played in the welsh league and automatically thought of Leeks.

Thanks god I didn’t say he last played for Sheep Town.

Absolutely you’d have been right round there with your wellies on.

Okera Simmonds, 24 yrs old striker “seems to be rated as he’s always come off the bench in every game”. Played over in Wales for Leek Town.

Leek is in Staffordshire not Wales. I think you’re confusing the town with the vegetable.

I’ve long suspected he is a vegetable.

I see Beck knocked it down into Roberts path for the first goal, no mention of that from the anti Beck brigade either, guess it luckily hit his head and fell luckily into Roberts path, lol.

Where did you “see” this? Because that’s not what happened at all, was a 1 yard pass with his foot, ball didn’t touch his head. Lol.

Just making sure you were paying attention, I hear sometimes the lights are on but there is no-one at home, glad you were in, for once, lol

The problem with option 1 (not a problem for me) is a vocal online majority are adamant he shouldn’t be given the time. Some are going as far as insulting the lad, and using it as an excuse to hit Butler with.

…and there is the problem, areseholes are areseholes and no amount of rational reasoning with them will change who they are or how they act, it’s not what a young keeper or the manager needs from, l believe they are called supporters.

Don’t let Awaywego confuse you DM he was answering both you and I in previous posts we had made on this thread, he’s basically covering his arse about being right about Butler fulfilling his brief but having the right to say Butler should have been sacked earlier in the season when things were not going aswell after the good start we had. My point was he should have shown more patience and kept stum about rushing in with his sack Butler comments and his knowledge of the game compared to a full time professional is on a different level, as is the rest of us. You can’t have it both ways IMO you can’t always have your cake and eat it as my old fella used to say, people should exercise more tolerance and in the case of young Campbell I don’t want him driven into a darker place mentally because of what certain posters are saying about him. We won’t have the same impact in the coming season on the NL as we did on NLN last season but everyone should get behind Butler and his team and give them all a chance.

I made similar points to you Roaming Bull on another thread on this theme and was told I talked nonsense by one of the anti Campbell brigade. They clearly had not read or absorbed the points I made before rushing in to spread more negativity, they can’t help themselves. I fear young Campbell could be in for a rough ride if these people turn their social media attitudes into live vocal vitriol on match days, I wish the young man well this season and the fanbase should unite and get behind him and just give him a chance.

‘Butler got their in the end, and that’s all that matters’

    Hmm…

…aye but only because he read the ” experts” comments on bru, lol.

    Lynch mob

Their agenda as usual is set in stone, best ignored or possibly baited occasionally for amusement purposes, several of them are biters.

The fans weren’t stupid for wanting Butler sacked, they had good reason watching some of the worse displays than any previous scunny teams relegation and reelection seasons included.
List is available if anyone’s forgot them.

His brief was to get the Iron promoted and he fulfilled his brief, you and several others jumped the gun with your ” know it all ” philosophy, you were wrong , Butler was right , facts are facts, you could learn a lot by being patient but you won’t do that because your brief is to be a know it all compared to a professional who knows more about the game then you, was it ever thus.

Contentious subject but at least Campbell’s understudy when he arrives can play in these games and be ready for action if needed, plus it will give certain fans another keeper to howl at if they deem him not good enough.

Fans know what they’re seeing with their own eye. They aren’t stupid.

    Hmmm! You sure?

Some stupid fans wanted Butler sacking last season, luckily the board aren’t quite as stupid as some of the fans.

    “Dances on the sand”?

I thought the pitch had been relaid?

I think it’s refering to what the pitch will look like in January.

Nonsense, there’s a big difference in your argument. If a striker misses 4 or 5 chances but bags the winner every game he’d be playing for Real Madrid. If a keeper makes 3 or 4 saves and then drops a clanger every game he’ll be unemployed.

I never said every game, you should absorb a post before rushing in with both feet, your mind is made up anyway about Campbell so I guess the one sided bias will continue.

Keepers can win you a game or lose you a game, so can defenders, so can forwards that’s why it’s a team game. A keeper is a member of a team they all have the capability of winning or losing a game based on their performance on the day, just banging on about the keeper being gash ( in their opinion) is no different to saying a forward is gash for missing easy chances. It’s always been the case a keeper can make one cock up after making three or four decent saves which prevented goals and fans bang on about that one mistake, a forward can miss four or five easy chances then bag a late goal to win or draw a game that looked lost and he’s the dog’s bollocks in fans eyes. That’s the just the human nature mindset of the average football fan, was it ever thus.

You know if we literally get behind our keeper when the season starts he will keep 46 clean sheets in the league games as the goal will be jam packed with fans all getting behind him! Good thread this one.

Widespread opinion is the whole tournament was a waste of time and lots of football fans haven’t bothered following it, me included. No wonder these Premier teams have massive squads because the players involved in this latest waste of time will be well fatigued when their season kicks off, it’s all about moneybags moneybags moneybags as per usual.

So making an absolute clanger (not the only one in the game) is “not looking too bad”? We must see things very differently.

Obviously that’s why forums are so diverse and interesting

Completely deserved IMO, after a close first set Sinner completely shut Alcaraz out the game with his superior tactics, probably the hardest a tennis ball has ever been hit on centre court, really riveting stuff. Alcaraz showed his vulnerability at times under pressure and Sinner is a polite, charming incredible tennis player, a credit to professional tennis.

I realise Djokovic wasn’t 100% fit in the semi final but the way Sinner dismantled the greatest player ever in just three sets was hugely impressive. All the makings of a classic final but Alcaraz has been the more inconsistent of the two despite being brilliant, I’ll go Sinner in 4 or 5 sets

Our supporters don’t need much to resume the Butler flak.

Some will want him gone by mid September, just wait they always start crowing early season.

Where would this forum be without panicking fans banging on?, particularly preseason, we need this next three week period to fly by so they can start moaning about team performance when the season starts.

What the media and some of the organisers billed it as was never the issue really NI, governments of these poorly run countries and the many conflicts they find themselves in or actively encourage themselves are the reason hope for humanity isn’t working out. Once again it’s the powerful few who dictate the fate of the many, the world has plenty of powerful, vicious rich bastard’s piling the misery and desperation on the multitudes, history shows we don’t change that much over the centuries when it comes to controlling the population, usually for the worse and the powerfuls personal gain

Not getting behind Campbell would just be negative and counter productive to the team’s chances to do well well this season, the guy deserves his chance after biding his time behind Fitz, back Campbell back Butler and as always back the team.

James O’Brien is excellent and his shows are always worth a watch/listen and yes it is coming and if people in countries all over the world continue to vote for Trump and his brain washing political ilk and Farage with his similar tactics then it will be here sooner then we think, scary times.
