Can just imagine alcy in a pair of Peter Swann underpants, he likes to keep his friends close but his enemies closer!
Don’t bother it’s funnier when you leave them up. On this one I will say, a Lennon and McCartney classic. Am I getting warm?
Test/ No Test, you having a senior moment Bobby?
Bloody hell Bobby the Atkinson brothers playing for Oxford at Scunny, that is a memory 👍
Aye that sounds about right, would be a major surprise if we won but…….
Well said NI, fantastic player, unbelievable goalscorer and proper football legend. RIP Jimmy, one of the best ever.
What do we think of Bunn? Have we seen anything from him yet?
I’ve already nicknamed him ” sticky ” if that helps? We obviously need more time to see him as he’s been injured already but I think if he stays fit he could be a good signing.
Whether Neil stays or goes I would like to extend my sympathies to him and his family for the sudden loss of his Dad. Never an easy time for any family losing a parent and in this case it appears to have happened very quickly. Stay strong Neil.

It was truly appalling yesterday and I agree with many sentiments on here and in particular the players not in the team that should be rather then loanees and both the loanees yesterday in midfield brought nothing to the table particularly in that 5-3-2 initial system wheras Beestin and Pugh would surely have done better. We needed a forward and a winger brought in not two players who do nothing more and on yesterday’s showing even less then our own players do who were bench warming. If you are going to play Perry then at least let the lad play in the correct area where his passing can influence the game not chasing their best player all over the pitch achieving nothing. Also what is this obsession with zonal marking at corners? It gives the opposition players rushing in from the edge of the box all the momentum they need to meet the ball, it’s for Premiership coaches working with Premiership players not league two bread and butter dross, which is what we are. We need more basic practical thinking with the right players in the right system on the field at the right time.
It’s not rocket science, is it?3 users thanked author for this post.
It will cost money to bin Cox, and there lies the problem, the budgets gone so he’s as safe as houses.
If he did get thee push tho, Charlton are struggling so Nige might be out of a job soon, just saying (I doubt he would swap Hampshire for a move up here tho).
Vader surely Nigel has too much personal pride and dignity to come and work for the current shit show set up we have at GP? He will see the way so many decent football men have been treated here and think ” not for me thanks “.

Oohps iron awe you look really
Amazing is the word your struggling to find Xxx.
That’s quite a nice compliment from a racist like you, you must be slipping. 😂😂😂Well my sister’s not my mother and my dad’s not my brother, maybe you all Shag one another in the Ironawe family. Well something like that.
Ha ha very good Awaywego as you always say it’s all about a laugh on here, I’m sure your sister laughs when you crawl off her and say ” was that good for you sis “. Top man Awaywego, great humour, keep it coming, ( I’m sure your sis says that too ).
Everyone is entitled to an opinion alcy but I think the Southgate record in five years as manager is easily the most impressive since Ramsey won it in 66, no matter what the view on how he sets the team up. The old chestnut about ” if so and so was manager he would have England playing better and blah blah blah ” is pure conjecture and means nothing.
You seem to know a lot about inbreeding Awaywego, does it run in your family or something?
Despite your analogy NI, I would rather have Southgate managing our current Scunthorpe squad then Cox, I’m sure we would see a marked improvement.
Not a complete failure, I hear Durran Durran is serving burgers and fries from the new catering van on Saturday, could be a tasty blast coming to town. Hope the fries are hotter then his finishing. 🍟😋
Has John been to a game since he has had to pay?
Spoke to a club contact at the ground a couple of weeks ago when I went to get my Tranmere ticket and was told that John still attends home games but has stopped travelling away because his wife is unwell. Hope that puts your mind at rest Mick, you appear to have a bit of a downer on John from recent posts, would you care to explain why?
Best ignore him Ferrite, it’s probably the result of wiping one several times a day that makes him post such crap.
So, oh wise one, that’s been our reason for conceding late every time then?
Only we do seem to make a habit of it…or maybe you’ve not noticed?
In the context of this season with an improved defence I’m not sure the link with previous seasons late goal failings has been established yet and as I pointed out today was exceptional due to the circumstances we found ourselves in. Maybe you might be prepared to give these new guys a chance to prove their worth defensively before jumping in with your usual negative bilge, oh unwise one.
Well we did not concede a late goal against Tranmere last Saturday but we did have 11 players on the field not 10 ( for 70 minutes incidentally today ) and we also did not have another of our better defenders off injured either. These little details have a habit of making the team weaker defensively, in case you happened to miss these minor details before posting your question.
Damned if he does damned if he doesn’t, would probably be hoping for a yellow but final thoughts, tough call seeing out a game for 70+ minutes with just ten men. Take this result on the chin and move on, no need for despondency.
Beating Carlisle 3-0 on the final day, Torps last outing and the ground rising to applaud him off the pitch for the last time when substituted, plus the Carlisle fans staying behind at the end to generously applaud our Champions as they paraded the League One Trophy round the pitch. Just a wonderful season for us all to enjoy.

Nice to read some positive posts based mainly on Saturdays result against Tranmere and to those posting who did not attend that game I would point out that despite the possession stats which hugely favoured Tranmere, it was the Iron creating chances whereas Tranmere didnt. We just need to finish these moves off but the team looked a lot more fluid going forward last week and the win was thoroughly deserved, the optimism from those who attended is justified IMO.
Probably best not to bite when he goes fishing…..
Your probably right MK but it’s just so annoying how a parody account spreading Nazi propaganda and racist hatred can be allowed to flourish on this board but SST appears to have disappeared into his shell over such matters. NI is quite correct, hatred won’t win, no many how many idiots decide to thank Big Jokes posts, he’s not remotely funny either.
It was a fantastic season wasn’t it with many memorable games and some cracking football in brilliant atmospheres. If only……

Just another example of how over coached the game has become over the years and another reason why we all appreciate individual skill on display when it occurs. I’m sure if Green took it upon himself to try what has been suggested he would receive the mother of all bollockings from the coaching staff if things went wrong. Myself and a lot of others who sit together at GP have discussed this for many years but doing something different would be so refreshing and if it worked would be warmly received. The problem is managers and coaches look at every eventuality that could occur from set piece situations and if Green wasn’t near an opponent he should have been if the move broke down from say a poor delivery and the opposition broke back upfield and scored, there would be hell to pay.
It seems sad that in attempting to eliminate all possibilities of conceding the game becomes so sterile from certain set piece situations. Remember the last line to most teams as they depart up the tunnel onto the field is ” don’t concede “.Underwhelmed but I guess it reflects the budget, best of luck young man, hope it works out well for both parties. Where’s the bloody striker?

….and so is the unacceptable debt and ground grab.

Never seen the guy play live before and Cass makes a very good point about fitness, I thought the lad did ok without being outstanding, which I would not expect anyway after such a long period out with injury. I’m giving the lad a chance to prove himself and I think others should too, look how Rory has improved in his last few games. We need to give these young guys a chance and be prepared to take the rough with the smooth this season, we have no choice, no budget means no experience or quality in abundance.

We lack quality but make up for a lot with work rate, passion and sheer determination. The only downer for me was not finishing chances but the guys worked hard to create them which is a big positive. Deffo pen for me les, arm raised when no need, well played ref on that one and well done all the players in general for just keeping battling on for the whole game. Fair play to Cox he has instilled a great attitude in these players and when injuries clear up we should be ok. Still need another striker but the defence is spot on for me, well done guys 👏👏👏
