I’m sure after 10 days off without a match Hill will be stressing the need to come out the blocks firing and not let Stevenage take a grip early on. The team is deffo making good progress under the new manager and Stevenage are no great shakes themselves, just go out Iron and win the bloody game.

Loving this Iwelumo piss take, the only time we had an actual tree masquerading as a footballer in an Iron shirt. How about Roy of the Rovers? he’s not played for over 25 years and lost his foot in an helicopter crash, still preferable to the human tree.

I might be wrong but I recall the Peterborough chairman talking about approaching Loft or at least enquiring about him.

What as a corner flag or a ball boy?

I understand Max was at this week’s shareholder meeting, nothing the Prawn could do about that. Somethings happening but how long it’s gonna take is another matter.

Burrows and Burkinshaw toghether as I recall ( Someone will correct me if that’s wrong ).I sure remember Frank playing for us, hard as nails and a very solid defender. Things you do remember like he took a pen once and stuck it right in the top corner of the Donny Road End where all us young lads were gathered behind, dont see many pens like that anymore, not at Scunny anyway. RIP Frank thanks for the memories.

Funniest thing was Kenyon having a go at their number 9, talk about the little and large show he must have been 6ft 7″ . 😂

We got out of jail tonight alright but there was the odd glimpse of hope here and there, just an odd one or two. Orient for me the best league side so far at GP this season, quicker, stronger, good passing, great defending but finishing very poor thank goodness. If they find a decent goalscorer in January they could well finish as champions playing that kind of football. Shame O’Malley is injured again, doesn’t get much luck that lad. Having said all that we are a point nearer both Carlisle and Oldham after tonight so let’s be grateful for that.

Are we twenty minutes fitter then the Salford game?, would like to think we aren’t too far away. It would be nice to compete for 80 minutes plus tonight before we start running out of steam, Orient aren’t sixth for nothing, this game will be a real challenge for team and new manager.

Will be interesting to hear what he had to say at tonight’s shareholder meeting, I’m sure some feedback will filter through on here tomorrow.

I thought the majority of considered opinion on here was that Hackney had improved, was playing well and worth his place. Just to say the last couple of home league games I’ve watched I thought he was playing really well compared to when he first arrived. Can’t comment on his performance at Mansfield yesterday but I presume judging by comments on here the entire team simply wasn’t good enough.

He might ” do a Holloway ” alcy but let’s not confuse a proven lower league manager with a decent success to a West Country Wassock who was more famous for his meandering meaningless comments then his prowess as a football manager. I’m so glad Hill came to Scunny and Swan went nowhere near Holloway, who is very well thought of by the Fishy Forum fans BTW. 😂

The real Bill Punton for me.

Very skilful but never fit enough as he was a proper old time veteran when he joined. I always smile when I remember his mid game rest breaks stretching down to his ankles with his arms whilst stood up trying to get his breath back. Anybody remember the goal he scored in the Donny Road End?, meant to be a deep cross and ended up in the top corner, very funny but we took it. 😂

Very difficult ironfromafar but I believe you tend to see players from your youth and indeed tend to remember them in probably a more flattering way then skill wise they actually were. I always thought Terry Heath was one of the most gifted players I saw wear an Iron shirt but it’s a long time ago and I was only a young teenager back then. He would be my choice if I had to choose from a list.

Well certainly the picture of Tosserian is similar to the football we have been playing this season so there is a tenuous football link.

    450 sold.
Hopefully a late flurry of sales tomorrow and we can have 600+ there.

I believe there is pay on the day too so maybe even more , I hope the lads get good support but unfortunately I won’t be one of them.

Because they are paying them £2000 -£3000 a week !

Exactly, let’s hope they have a chairman who knows how to budget properly too because we are a perfect example of what happens when you dont.

Ok, so some opposition fans have been known to accuse Brighton fans of all being g**, or words to that effect.

I’m fairly sure God is not a Brighton fan.

Exactly TW and all football fans know Brian Clough was God and certainly not a Brighton fan, then he died of course. So much for that immortality bullshit.

Does anybody know anything that is working properly at our club?

The exit gates appear to be working ok at the end of the game, almost as if they are saying ” get out now “.

    Who told you

I told me as I left the ground after full time on Saturday.

Won’t be there this Saturday but my reasonably recent favourite memory was our last promotion season from league two and another Paul Hayes return first game back. What an absolute belter of a first goal, must have been all of 30 yards out, first time strike top corner, where we were all assembled going ape shit. The bovril was crap though.

Maybe the software is too outdated for it to be repaired, we could always knock a couple of nails in the wall behind the away end goal and get a youngster to hang numbers on them.

Always loved the ref and his wagging finger when an onfield booking was occurring, the scoreboard is however a sign of the times in a dated stadium by modern standards and a floundering team playing there. Probably quite appropriate the old scoreboard has finally given up the ghost, perhaps it knows what’s coming at the end of the season.
