Our bond issue is our owners word isn’t his bond, hence the shitshow that is Scunthorpe United FC.

I thought we were talking McKeown, not McCartney.
So shouldn’t that be “Bye, bye baby. Baby bye, bye”?
Well at least McCartney hasn’t pegged it yet, poor old Les M has.
Macca? We need some experienced legs but not that experienced! Unless we get Ringo aswell in a BOGOF deal.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeeeaaaahhhhh.
Agree with all of it despite it stating the bleeding obvious.🙄
les is right, if we don’t sign another five or six experienced heads within the next week, we are pretty much f***ed.

Was never really here was he.
Played against Rick mid 80s and he embarrassed me-probably relayed that one before.
I only remember Deere as a CB. Would have been ’75, 76?
We sold him to Hull in 73 DM but he did return after a short spell in non league to finish his career with us from 78 to 1980. Legs had gone by then compared to his early days but was still a fans favourite.

Talking to Greeno on Saturday still big and nasty, said he’d have a word with Cam and Neenan about coming back.
Spoke to him a few times back in my heating oil delivery days, he lived out at Keadby and was great to chat too about Scunny back in the seventies and footy in general. Complained his knees had gone but then again that’s one of the many physical problems the older professional players have to contend with.

How about seeing him play before passing judgement?
That fits quite nicely into my Perry Mason analogy UTI, there is hope for you yet.
I think that was more like 68 I-A, but you’re right.
What wouldn’t we give to be able to choose from Deere, Welbourne and Atkin in defence?
Yep and Steve Deere started off up front where I remember him banging a few goals in before he dropped into defence.
I heard Mr Blue Sky on the radio yesterday, ah that last line ” please turn me over “. Wish we could do the same with our football club.
Rumours were that Beagrie was on 4k a week with us and how long ago was that?
That would be with a chairman who let the manager make the decisions regarding player recruitment, backed his judgement and let him get on with the job. We have a different animal for an owner now who despite stepping down as chairman to keep out the firing line as much publicly, still pulls the strings. Hence oblivion awaits.
June 20, 2022 at 9:33 am in reply to: Let’s Hope The Opening Two Months Fixtures Are Kind To Us #239107Summer of 69 signings would be better, Terry Heath, Nigel Cassidy, George Kerr and we could take a punt on a young Kevin Keegan.
Better off with Perry Mason, he was great at legal stuff, which may come in handy when liquidation arrives.
6 million quid to a fan based consortium, 8 million quid to an outside punter.
We’re did you get that info from Bob?
If it’s a reliable source(sauce) I bet it’s HP again.
talk on Twitter we are after a 17 year old goalkeeper from Mansfield to compete with Foster, unbelievable if true, but from a respected source.
Is it HP?

Er. The only name which comes to mind for the guy at QP is perhaps, Terry???
Guy who got me through was called Eric, he wore glasses, smoked like a twitch heap but didn’t drink alcohol. Funny the things you remember from your youth and things you can’t remember now from last week. Eric was a brilliant instructor and allowed you to crack on if you had a basic grasp of driving. All those times driving Dads Hillman Minx estate car up and down the old empty back roads of North Lincs from the age of 15 certainly gave me a head start. Different world back then.
Riley’s crisps, Brumpton pop and the award winning Export Shandy. Quick Pass learn to drive top of Donny Road, 3 lessons for a fiver 1972. Got me through my test no problem plus answering highway code questions at the end of the test. ” What’s this sign sir “? ” Well it’s either uneven road ahead or a young lady sunbathing on Cleggy Beach “. 😳

Thought bill was referring to that excellent knock by Root at Trent Bridge and had got the spelling wrong. Think folks will take a while to realise the non football forum is back as it doesn’t appear on the main menu, just the Blast Furnace.

The poor display withstanding, can anybody justify the second yellow card for Stones that led to his dismissal? If that’s a FIFA approved referee in action the game is doomed, complete clown IMO.
Not seen anyone so clueless at his job since that fat bloke took up property development.
There’s a guy in Downing Street who runs them pretty close TBF 😎

Not as good as the Cricket team.
Fantastic performance from one England team, a 💩 performance from another England team all on the same day. Now that’s variety for ya. 😂😂😂
Shit happens.💩
Well mick that will be the old chesnut of someone says they will come then their agent will find another club for them who wants to pay more, nothing new there but of course the owner nowadays does not put any money in so that will make a difference too.

Yep good move IMO, young enough to get better and he showed at times last season he was doing just that. Needs more time and more work but that’s what young players with promise are all about, Keith Hill will turn him into a really good player.
Good, time to bring in someone better.
