I do hope so.
I agree, they have taken the piss long enough, time for them to get battered which TBF is the role they were born to play. 🐟🍟
My phone is blocking the redirect and I can use bru ok, just a little box at the top of the page saying the misdirect is on. Not a problem but still annoying.
Chris Sutton has been doing his usual predictions for the cup this weekend and he’s got Brighton down for a 5-0 win, that does seem more realistic TBF.
“All of that aside, what these comments have confirmed is”……
you’re a bit of a knobhead!
Oh no here comes the usual ” personal abuse ” and ” usual suspects” response from youknowwho, ha ha it is always fun though and worth waiting for.
Who said he has gone ?
Never said goodbye did he ? Just vanished ! or has he ???

I’m sure there’s a Beatles song in here somewhere…
I suspect the Governments answer to the many people struggling financially in this country is for them to work ” Eight Days A. Week ” wrong thread I know but can’t resist a Beatles challenge.
I repeat a point I made about this on the other forum. If the BBC had corrected Braverman in here interview when she misquoted the Lineker tweet and shown her and the Tory MP’s who were also crying foul the red card ( I know highly appropriate and possibly a red rag to the right wing ) none of this rubbish would have taken place. The Tories can’t keep crying about impartiality at the BBC when they stamp their feet and take their ball home when they can’t get their own way everytime. The ERG have responded by talking about defunding the BBC ( again ) because they can’t stand being told they are wrong and yes they are wrong big time on this matter.

I’m really interested in where all the jobs are when these umpteen loads of people start flooding back to work.
At least a certain old Barton resident will have a nice new clean comfortable place to go and drop his bullshit instead of on here.
My older brother and I watched the final on TV in our ” sitting room ” ( how quaint is that expression these days? ). I went off sulking into the ” backyard ” when German equalised late on but returned soon enough for the famous extra time win. I can still hear Ken Wolstenholme uttering that famous line like it was yesterday and what a magic day it was for an English eleven year old watching it all happen live in front of him.

Where is Everton? Not even a sub?
I assume he has a knock, let’s be right the management team aren’t going to announce it publicly before ko are they. Keep the opposition guessing till the last minute there is obviously a reason why because he’s been excellent so far for us.

TBF JI you could make the same analogy about the Royals but there we all are contributing to their civil list money every year, some things are ingrained in our culture and the BBC appears to be one of them.

Ha ha good old Cloughie, bet he had a couple of whisky’s in him when he did that interview. Maxwell walked off a boat to meet his fate, maybe somebody could send Murdoch on a one way cruise 🤷
He’s been getting crankier ever since Lineker got reinstated.
Watched that podcast on you tube Sunday night, both certainly don’t have a lot of good to say about Messrs Murdoch and Trump, very funny in places, Hislop and Merton always make me chuckle on HIGNFY.
Perhaps Lineker was referring to the insidious nature of German propaganda in the early 1930’s, they didn’t come out straight away saying put all Jews in death camps and burn their homes down but rather compering the Jews to ” an enemy within”. Later on they began portraying Jews as rats working their way into society in cinema film reels and trying to take over in an underhand way. Despite Lineker not using the best language in this case to accuse him in the extremes that have been hurled at him by Braverman and her ilk is unfair IMO. Whilst Sunak and Hunt have both said it is up to the BBC to settle the Lineker matter, the right wing of the Tory party and their language since his reinstatement at the BBC say otherwise.

Somebody in Barton just put a cap on after reading that post DM 😂, sorry I need to leave it alone really.
I’d rather they listened to Turnbull’s advice as a scout as opposed to the last bloke doing it.
Sorry not at our ground Pat under 18s Cost 6 pounds only under 12s free, no doubt you can blag it if I’ve got a spare free one I give it to the iron youth in the queue.
You give a free ticket to someone you can’t vouch for? That’s very clever.
Bit like giving a Chairman’s job to someone who helped set up a bank loan, very Tory like from Awaywego 😂
Hypocrite and a racist.
We have been through this umpteen times DM, he’s a tired old man whose run out of arguments, best ignored.
Saw someone bearing a striking resemblance a couple of days back standing on the M181 slip road with a suitcase thumbing a lift.
Yes there does appear to be a few right wingers on here bleating about the fact Gary Lineker is back on the telly and the ERG are also kicking off in the Tory party, apparently talking about stopping funding of the BBC,again. So basically we want you to be impartial BBC but if you don’t see things from our viewpoint we could cut your funding, very democratic that.😂
Seems to have worked on you Rene.
Le Tissier is probably one of a number of people who were effected mentally during lockdown and no it’s not because I disagree with him on most things political it’s just that when I’ve seen him interviewed or seen him discussing such matters on you tube, he doesn’t come across as a very balanced individual. Just my opinion of course but he was still a wonderful football with perfect balance.
If the BBC want to maintain this impartial stance malarkey they insist is so important to them then they have to start addressing some of their political commentators when interviewing politicians to correct them in interview when they don’t tell the truth. If Braverman had been pulled up live on air when she linked the word Holocaust to Lineker’s tweet and told ” that isn’t true, that isn’t what he tweeted “, a lot of this nonsense could have been avoided. All politicians who come bleating and distracting a phoney case to the BBC should immediately be shown a red card, it would end there.

As an OAP my rates are very reasonable even as a non season ticket holder these days. A seat in the East Stand costs me £16 max and sometimes it’s only £15, if I chose a season ticket it works out much less then either of those prices and I have to say I’ve no problem if I have to pay the same next season but I also understand everyone’s circumstances are different and I can understand why some expect a pro rata discount for a less higher bracket of football we may be watching next season. I’m easy either way TBH.
If you read what Lineker actually wrote then the versions being put out by Tories and right wingers is just a weaponised version of what they want people to actually believe. Don’t forget Bravermann has refered to migrants as ” the enemy “, she also refers to the opposition disagreeing with her as ” leftie lawyers “, how appropriate is her language considering she is a Government minister, it’s absolutely hilarious but she appears frightened of Lineker and his tweet and she clearly can’t get at him any other way but verbally attack him but bear in mind she also believes her proposed law may be illegal. Nobody wants to talk about the legitimacy of her proposals, people would rather talk about a football pundits private opinion on Twitter, a very clever distraction by an unpopular Minister touting an unpopular possibly illegal unworkable policy on migrants.

Lineker has around 9 million followers on Twitter, that’s what upsets Braverman and her ilk, the fact she is broadcasting to the nation most days with her opinion seems lost on her. They see Lineker as a threat because his opinion which is different to hers ( to which he is entitled on politics as is anybody in a free society ) is seen by many but so are her opinions. If the state funded the BBC would we get a weekly propaganda show dressed up as ” Policy Of The Day every Saturday night showing everything, whoever the Government of the day may be, in a positive light?
