‘Curzon could have been well clear but now slip up conceding for fun’
Case in point. Quite a few on here and other platforms were claiming they were running away with it a few weeks ago. Patience is a virtue.
One man’s ‘crap’ is another one’s ‘not too bad.’ It’s certainly a better looking table than when I checked in with 25 mins to go.:)
One Iron supporters ‘much better’ is another’s ‘rubbish again’.

Great to hear. Onwards and upwards.
I know it was rubbish and I didn’t even see it.
You alright Hun?

What’s the point in him giving pre-match interviews? He’d get a barrage of flak regardless of whatever he said. May aswell save himself the hassle and and time.
Hopefully they’re on this tonight…
You’d probably find something to complain about it. Something along the lines of nepotism.
Have you checked the colour of your tongue recently?

Let us know how you feel about it tomorrow morning with that hangover

Nah, never happened in the DRE OSG. We used to doff caps and be ever so polite. Mick Dewer only shouted ‘Bloody Rubbish Iron!’, though it was every 5mins.

‘WARNING. There will be swearing at football matches if your of that disposition who find it offensive please don’t attend’
Typically trying to turn a reasonable observation that people attending a match shouldn’t shout the likes of ‘w****r’ very loudly at our manager in to a misplaced slight about people objecting to it being upset by it. Pretty sure most of us on here hear this type of swearing every day in the work place or out and about, but you spectacularly miss the point and suggest they don’t attend. Pretty lame, even from you.
Hmm, jumpers for goalposts, Bob Steels and Tom Taylor in the Telegraph, Saturday late edition, Spot the Ball competition…isn’t it?

‘If someone did shout that im sure the intention was for Butler to hear it, and only vocalizing what most fans were thinking well at least along them lines.’
It’s not an if awaywego. It was definitely posted. Surprised you didn’t hear it in the stand too. Regardless of people thinking it, ‘W****r’ shouldn’t be shouted at him along with other obscenities like that. End of. Was it the same fan who described the first half performance as ‘utter woke nonsense’ on Gareth’s blog? I noticed he just let that one go without any counter point like ‘you either don’t know what ‘woke’ is supposed to mean, or you think you’re amusing, which you’re not’.

Like I said the other day, his detractors took to the Humserside interview posted on X with over the top reactions like a pack of hyenas. Most of them supporters. That’s what’s fuelled the fire. I can understand criticisms of his interview but a fair number of the posts went beyond that. Then there was an X post since deleted I think of clip of a supporter at half time loudly calling Butler a ‘w****r’, which he no doubt heard.

Were Marine big or small at the back?
How often has the Nicholson long throw been effective since early September?
If he does, I hope it doesn’t end up with unseemly offers of a face off with commenters, like it did in the Hilton era.
I think awaywego is saying Stuart’s opinions are some sort of barometer of Butler’s standing? He is after all, the Iron Oracle, as everyone knows.

Are you betting on 10mins added time?
After just listening to Andy’s interview on Humberside I would say he needs to stop giving such negative unhelpful responses to Ollie’s questions, the fans listening deserve better TBH. If Andy listens back to that interview I’m sure he will realise, or he should as manager anyway, that interviews like that do nobody any favours, he has to be better than that when dealing with media.
Aye,he may well regret how he conducted it in a few years, if not in the morning. He’s still learning, but some wrote him off before he started. He needs support not pelters and increasing abuse. He’s OUR manager, not the oppositions, though you’d be forgiven for thinking he is the way some of our supporters tar and feather him.

Cliff – Torps was saying the team is lacking in confidence. Maybe a lot of it is just that?
Refering to this I believe I-A…
‘After holding onto their brilliant turn around the Scunthorpe players gathered round the centre circle following the full-time whistle in order to show the togetherness and belief that is instilled into this United side despite outside noise.’
He certainly sounded like a guy under a great deal of pressure.
I should think the adrenaline was running a bit high after the half time bollocking as well.
I’m sure he is more than aware that things are shite, but what’s he supposed to do?
Throw the players under the bus? He’ll be criticised no matter what he says.I thought is was a bad interview. He’s not the first manager to have done it, won’t be the last.
I think that’s a fair assessment. Not impressed with it but the pressure is clearly taking its toll, plus all the abuse and talk of last chance saloon no doubt. On the flip side there was no mention from Ollie of how the substitutions made a difference and how a team supposedly not playing for him turned it around late on and won. Despite what you and a few others say wondergoals, I’m far from impressed with on pitch affairs lately, but it’s telling how some of Butler’s detractors from day one on Twitter can’t wait to jump on this interview like a pack of hyenas.

Lacking in confidence Torps said on Humberside, up till the last 30mins . Hopefully, the win instills some confidence and belief and they push on from here.

So, back to your original post…’only a win is acceptable’. Defeat was it? How can listening be ‘painful’. I listened. Sounded very poor up till last 30mins. But hardly painful. Maybe for the travelling fans but not sat on our arses listening to a commentary.
Zombie manager.
Walking Dead.Really any need for that? Can’t you be happy with a win, despite another
Poor performance?1 user thanked author for this post.
Deereyme66, you’re posting as if Butler is setting the world alight and he’s been unfairly targeted. A large section of the fanbase are just sick of him now and want him gone.
Nothing personal deerey, he’s here as the manager and he’s shite at his job.
I’m not suggesting anything of the sort wondergoals. The post you’re referring to is more a criticism of a particular individual’s Butler Out crusade, operating on at least 3 platforms. That’s either very sad or he has a specific reason for undertaking it. Not sure which it is tbh. Just an observation and a bit of fun.
Yeah, sorry about misinterpreting what you actually posted JI. Genuinely forgot the detail – I blame age. In that context, maybe the lesser of the two evils to run the club.
It’s not so much him suggesting an alternative approach to tackling homelessness, more the undermining of agencies doing good admirable work to try and help. Perhaps if he invested some his significant wealth in their work it might help? Underfunding is a major issue as far as I’m aware from the evidence. However, that wouldn’t fit his and Donald’s explicit culture war agenda: their crusade against anything they see as the establishment or ‘Woke’. I have no doubts that Elon is busy thinkngbup new ways to make a decent Buck or million out of the homelessness crisis, hence him targeting workers and agencies who supposedly benefit from more homelessness. A very cynical and uncaring Christian if you ask me.
