It was a football thread that turned political. It happens. It’s a natural possible evolution of a discussion.

First category for me. He may not have sold up, but the club seems to have improved off the pitch in a number of ways now that he’s less operational. That speaks volumes and it’ll do for me untill he does finally sell up.

    We’re not fussy, we’ll coalesce with anyone…

And renage on policies like scrapping tuition fees and cowtowing to the majority party?

Throwing lots of cash around with no clear transfer strategy / policy clearly doesn’t work.

‘I’m posting here is what Neil Wright has told me on twitter, if you have anything negative to say then go straight to the source.’

I’m guessing by a number of posts to your thread WG, that a fair few supporters are not really interested in your exchanges with Mr Wright on Twitter and probably have no desire to engage with him on Twitter, otherwise they’d already be doing it. What everyone really wants to hear is positive solid facts regarding the takeover and would perhaps rather wait for that to materialise rather than carrot dangling ‘news in a few days…news in a few weeks’, etc. We’ve had years of similar comments from Swann about this and that happening on all manner of things, only to be let down. If you want to have dialogue with Mr Wright on Twitter, fill your boots. I’m sure when there is something definitive to relay on the takeover there’ll be a press release or something.

I had a chat with the potential new owner last night in a dream. He said the deal is dragging on due to lawyer wrangles. He won’t get the ground in the deal. And he’s a successful funeral director.

“When a business is failing and not performing, it is the owner of that business’ fault. It is failing miserably.

Now they have a decrepit, rotting stadium that is second rate, when it was one of the best.

You’ve got a football project where they haven’t got a clue. You can look at the players and managers all you like, but there are bigger things that need to be put right.

They have to show up and face the music. The club is rotten.”

Was this written about a) Scunthorpe United. b) Manchester United. d) Derby County?

    Answers on a postcard please.

Funnily enough just watched the clip in question. Rotten decrepit stadium my arse. It’s really not that bad. Transfer policy is obviously rubbish – Another parallel, but those players on their ridiculous salaries have no excuse. Redknapp made the best points in that exchange IMO. Players need to get a grip and start playing for the club that signed them for stupid fees and wages. Not that I give a F about MUFC continued plight. Just observations

It might sound ‘yacht rock’ to the uninitiated. I probably thought so many years ago before listening more deeply, but it’s more jazz rock than anything and a lot of Donald Fagin’s lyrics are socially and politically driven. A lot of darkness in there compared to the upbeat music

Not played that much music today. Had this on earlier before we went out. A blast from the past from Ben Watt’s Buzzin Fly dance works (as opposed to Everything but the Girl)

People will always happen upon the Dan for many years to come Gurney. Partly for the the reasons you cited. Perhaps stumbling upon via Spotify recommendations (aren’t they the most sampled act in the world? Or thereabouts. Mainly hip hop and dance tracks). Or friends will whack a track on and they’ll be alerted to it.

Back to the matter in hand, some serious shit hitting the fan this evening in the USA. Trump under investigation for potential violation of the espionage act and also highly sensitive classified information a lot of it top secret and particularly national defence information. Wonder what Jesus thinks about that ? Sorry I dropped back into bill’s silly world for a moment, forgive me.

A Trump of the highest order. The most dangerous moral less man to grace the presidency. Moron and utter s***head. This is just the tip of the iceberg. What else has he done? Much speculated, some true, some maybe not. But IMO, the biggest danger to world peace witnessed since WWII. The amount of discord and hate he created whilst in power is unparalleled. If you care about world politics and geopolitical history, do what you can to stop this man ever taking power again. Just my opinion.

Aye, if this turns out to be true, what a ‘f***ing moron’ indeed.

‘Another possibility Rofer pointed to is that Trump could have retained his nuclear “biscuit”, a piece of plastic like a credit card with the identification codes necessary for nuclear launch. Those codes would have been changed however the moment Biden took office’

‘so, in the words of Capt Oates, ‘I’m off .. and may be gone some time.’’

Very disappointing if you’re off again JI. Why is it that so many of you right wingers flee when questioned, when your values and beliefs are debated? We’re having a conversation here, no need to run off. Flip it. The so called lefty liberals on here did that and you’d rightly be saying they didn’t have the courage of their convictions.

‘Happy to have brought some colour into the monotone drabness.’

Oh come on JI. All we’re doing is chewing the cud on Bru non footy. No need for pedantry. It doesn’t suit you. What might make it less drab? An ex POTUS who’s filmed giving it large about feeling up women? This is the same man we’re talking about isn’t it? Ffs, how does that sit with you?

Oh, I missed that. Not done much news today apart from Catalonian festivals and someone saying ‘scorchio’ on the weather bulletins. I hope that piece of s*** gets everything he deserves.
