Thieves Like Us is one of my favourite New Order tracks but this instrumental version on the B side of Murder 12″ still sounds majestic, particularly on vinyl
Right Said Fascist
Sorry to trouble you with this, and if you’ve already seen it, but someone brought up Faragè…
Who would want to nick em?

I would love to see the club with a stadium back in town, for all the obvious reasons, but this guy’s track record of delivering projects doesn’t give me much hope, particularly within the time frame. His previous accounts filing on Companies House is a concern, 1899 Club was misjudged and numerous other things are concerning too. I know we have little choice right now, but I don’t understand this blind faith some have. Small matter of potential eviction from GP looming – cracking signings but where will they be playing?
I know the first tweet is old news to us but that and some of the subsequent posts and discussion speak ‘concern’.

Yes, ýou have a point about the sentiments on the Fishy. I’m probably seeing it more on Twitter. ThIs thread for example:
Seeing some things online tonight i really fear for @SUFCOfficial #UTI they have not even bought the land yet and were told the academy was closing and training moved to Ilkeston , that was U turned but worry there will be many more ; they had too many with Swann .#IRON

Tbh, I viewed the Fishy earlier and didn’t see any of that (possibly posted weeks ago?). There are however, a fair few Cods on there and Twitter having reasonable discussions about our current situation and very concerned about the way it seems to be heading. Maybe some are making too many similarities to the Fenty years but it’s interesting and weird how there seems to be more Cods expressing concern than Iron supporters.
A Grimsby fan and property development lawyer had a bit to say about this issue I believe, on Twitter. She was subsequently vilely abused by a brand new poster using childlike language and spelling but that clearly knew a lot about the situation. This new account holder had copied the photo and user handle of a critic of Mr Hilton impersonating the critic, to try and make viewers believe it was the critic making the disgusting tweets. Thankfully, he / she was alerted and the sham was revealed. What the hell is going on??
May 19, 2023 at 2:14 am in reply to: Is there evidence that Swann doesn’t actually want to sell the ground? #262656If you mean botched promotion of the scheme I beg to differ. He/they did a very good job on that front. Don’t think he/they wagered on the scepticism based on the fact he didn’t actually own the place.
May 19, 2023 at 2:10 am in reply to: Is there evidence that Swann doesn’t actually want to sell the ground? #262655Really? Good idea? Expecting 2k fans to stump up almost £2k? Sorry mate, not ‘botched implementing’ but fantasy land IMO. Fixed what exactly?
May 19, 2023 at 1:59 am in reply to: Is there evidence that Swann doesn’t actually want to sell the ground? #262653‘Any actual evidence that Hilton tried and failed to get £3.5 million?’
Er, the 1899 scheme? Or have I got that wrong?
May 19, 2023 at 1:40 am in reply to: Is there evidence that Swann doesn’t actually want to sell the ground? #262652‘Hilton tried for months to get the money via loans and investments, but he failed miserably due to his dodgy track record and lack of collateral. He tried to offer lenders parts of the land and lots of interest, but they were the people he’d already ripped off, so it was a no go.’
Don’t know about that Jordan. Do you have evidence of the above?
‘One of two people are telling porkies.’
I know who my money is on
See what I mean WG? Just because he says it, don’t make it true mate. Wish it was, but I’m hardly surprised. And there’s plea’s to back the guy? Purlease, more like.
He’ll be saving some operating costs on reduced non playing staff. But some of that will be countered by hiring training and match day stadia. Bit of a conundrum. Unless…!!! A cunning plan, that cannot fail….hmm, what other option might there be?
Don’t think Swann will accept £20k a month personally, not least because Hilton, in his words, has fallen out with him, and has now spent a fair amount of time slagging him off at the forum. Even if he did, that’s £20k a month down on club running costs immediately. Has he got deep pockets, because I’ve seen no evidence than they’re that deep!

wonder bowels your bullshit knows no bounds! homeless hiltons barmy army
Don’t think there’s any need for being reduced to name calling and insults II. I think the majority of other posters are capable of reading WGs latest posts and making their own minds up.

‘They are probably calling each others bluff so we will probably find out the rights and wrongs of the situation when we know who blinks first.’
Two ‘probably’s’ in the final paragraph that are more reasonably ‘possiblies’. I see only one person trying to call the other one’s bluff. I doubt the full ‘rights and wrongs’ will ever be in the public domain due to NDA’s.
It is what it is, but I find it difficult to be happy with the hand we’ve got atm.
His fairly recent fall outs with other councils over redevelopment projects doesn’t instill confidence

applauding!? unbelievable………….
Well, we know that the Swann swiping was applauded-that ‘easy clapping’ Cliff mentioned. What else? A couple of signs up and not getting the deal done, as speculated and rumoured? Good players being signed, can’t argue with that (I trust the player budget stretches to that?), but where they going to be playing home matches? Because I can’t see it being GP.
I’d be shocked if he didn’t
‘Stop, Look, Listen’, The Ģreen X Code Man. Never got run over!

Fools rush in, where angels fear to tread?
This resulting in us having Swann as a landlord in the interim contains massive risks for the club.
Do the club / Hilton really have the money for such a bold move?
And if not – where is the money coming from? Because I’m really not convinced the council does. https://t.co/OJ0yy3psx2

And that’s assuming Swann will accept £20k a month. He thinks he’s going to accept £240k over 12 months? Really?

How many will want a refund? I’ve sent a few members on Twitter saying they don’t want one.
So the reality is probably, ‘not a leg to stand on’ I would assume.

If what Hilton is proposing was more realistic and there was less bluster and cloak and dagger (not letting the forum be filmed in case Swann uses it against him?? What??), I’d be more comfortable with it all. But too many things have happened already and the issue òf tenancy at GP leaves too much left up in the air. Supporters will make their own mind up. I just hope those that are not on board are respected by those that are, because at present, on social media, it seems to be getting worse, not better.
