Just thought, Scott Laird to reach out and act as mediator?

Leaving the transfer of The stadium and land to Coolsilk, which no one was happy about, to one side, and I know this isn’t going to be popular, but Swann made a deal with Hilton based on good faith, ‘proof of funds’, passing the supposed ‘fit and proper’ test and his recent involvement with Ilkeston Town. It needed to be a quick deal and went ahead on those assurances and on face value looked like the best option. He and we as supporters welcomed it. He and we weren’t to know. If there’s a way forward with Swann’s help to remain at GP or go back to it in the near future we might be better served not sticking the boot in to him. If we don’t, there may be a chance he’ll help? Wishful naiive thinking, I know…

Agree with what Tony Gosling said about Swann being a position to allow the club to stay at GP. No idea how realistic that is but hope he’ll listen to someone he respects and do the right thing.

As much as I’ve been frustrated by some of Stuart’s content recently, I recognise he’s only one of many who’ve been had. A huge portion of the supporter base blaming those who kept asking questions and raising concerns, whilst the latter got frustrated and annoyed with decent fans who they thought needed to wake up. Honorable legacy indeed.

With all due respect, everyone should be clear about who NOT to trust by now.
Divine Intervention needed: bpg, JI?
Bloody Iron Liberal elite innit!
Also, a very good Wedding Present album.
Oh yeah, that’s okay then
‘Whether that’s through fundraising for all you’re worth, local businessmen involvement, the Trust or council,’
IMO the biggest challenge to raising funds and support is that many have come on board and been burned now. Are those same people going to invest again? Maybe a glimmer of hope is with those that didn’t get on board as they didn’t trust him?
‘Look at me ma, top of the world!’
‘Did he buy those plots of land…’ . Did he what???

Heartbreaking.
Really good piece I thought
As an aside, I’ve been in Gordon Taylor’s office years ago. Had a mini bar in it, as I recall. And that famous Lowry painting ‘Going to the Match’. Thought that was pretty cool.

Can posters please remember that the text messages were ‘allegedly’ from Hilton and that he’s denied it so nothing is proven. NLI, I’ve edited your opening post. Please think before posting. Cheers.

I’m really not that arsed if this thread stays or goes but I’ll leave it to Matt or the other mods to remove it if they see fit.
It would be a minefield. Maybe better as a dissertation? Lol, ‘having looked at all the facts in great detail, this report finds that X was bang out of order’.
An external review at some point, in the future, of how social media communications played it’s part in this car crash would be beneficial I reckon. Lots of lessons to be learned. Might aswell add it to the novel about a fictional non-league side in turmoil and the Netflix drama.

You off to that radical feminist conference mate?

Well, quite CMC. Hope they’re having a rethink about what’s deemed acceptable / what isn’t, who / how it’s moderated etc. Not saying we’re perfect or anything but that platform was in desperate need of review
Certainly is milder. The abuse on Twitter and Facebook also means a large section of the supporter base may well wonder what all the fuss and complaints are about, having not witnessed the burner accounts, doxxing, privacy breaches etc

I really hope future owners stay off social media. It rarely ends well and creates division. Whatever is posted on social media from the owner or Board should be posted on the club’s website so it’s more accessible to all fans – specially those that don’t / won’t entertain Twitter and Facebook

My hope ..probably way too over optimistic…stadium becomes supporter owned and supporters / observers / journalists that may justifiably raise concerns and ask legitimate questions of future owners are not systemically insulted and abused over a long period of time. If that can happen, we may have a more positive future. Accusing supporters of posting things they haven’t and doing things they haven’t, certainly isn’t on.

It’s not him I’m concerned about that much Cliff, it’s more about how something like this becomes a narrative and smears the forum and an excuse to condone the banning of Matt B and Matt E from GP.

I was going to clarify the mention of his daughter last night but ran out of time. Siderite is correct as he and I have stated before. A Bru poster unwittingly copied and pasted a post from The Fishy that contained the offending content. The post was spotted within half an hour and deleted. How do I know for sure? I deleted it after consulting Matt. Therefore to say this forum allows that sort of abuse on here is simply not true. We got rid of it as soon as we could. I haven’t seen any other reference to his daughter on here and watch closely. If I’d have seen anything else like that it would have been screenshot before deleting. Thanks
I see Herbert was still going on about Bru providing a platform for abusive posts about Hilton’s daughter on Twitter 7 hours ago. If you speak to any fellow supporters over the coming days and weeks and they raise this as a concern, please inform them of the truth as I’ve stated above to set the record straight to emphasise the decency and integrity of this forum. Thanks.
