414 reading the Kiddie write up, twisting pencil in sharpener, eyes widening.

Just listened. Excellent work. Very open, honest and informative. Refreshing change from those often tense sounding podcasts with Swanny.

‘We have easily beaten the best footballing team in the league.’ First time I’ve laughed all day. Very droll.

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/aug/26/sven-goran-erikssons-private-life-obsession-for-press-media

And now they are all saluting him after hounding him out of the job.
But then no England manager/coach is saffron their spitefulness.

Did The Guardian hound him out the job? They certainly didn’t hack his phone.

Bloke’s a more coherent but equally deluded Dean clone; from the North East.

I’m all for it personally. Might not be pretty and when it doesn’t work it’s a double blow but makes a refreshing change to watch us more direct and physical. Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen it from the Iron but hate to see any opposition doing it to us. I bet Tim Lovejoy would prefer ‘Jimmyball’.

I was right about Beestin maybe getting rested. Better than my 1-1 prediction anyway, thankfully.

Both your posts have some credence in there IMO. But I admit to merging them. Calm down lads! Blimey.

‘Was hoping Cox would land himself another job’

He has. Coaching somewhere abroad I think he said during Needham stream and commentary. No offence Neil but I won’t be disappointed if you reduce the Humberside commentary gig

Can’t understand why I’ve bugged you so much 414. It’s almost like you’re waiting for failure.

Revised odds: realised what a sad shallow pitiful sham of an existence my life is and stepped in my own dog’s excrement this morning – mid table at best playing the most unattractive football ever witnessed in any league, ever.

I think losing it from the era when it was still good with decent hacks is a sad loss. It is what it is though.

I should add my points above are things we can do better, things we can improve on, not a macro negative outlook on the whole shebang.

‘In the 3-5-2 think Ogle is the bigger miss’

Funnily enough, watching the game on the stream last night I actually thought to myself, ‘we’re not missing Ogle. Glad he’s moved on. Must ask my Oldham mate how he’s doing’.

I do hope we’re not going to be like England fans and complain even when we’re winning because we’re not winning well enough.

Correct – predicted he would play the ugly, defensive and direct football we are now seeing.

Honestly, I don’t know what to say to nonsense like this. Did you even see a game played until one-plan Dean last season?

Well Ferrite, one of your bug bears about supporters not giving the opposition enough respect is coming to fruition. The difference is we’re not miles ahead talent wise like England players are.

I would say NM did a good job of stifling our attacks last night Les, ran their socks off and probably deserved more than no points. However, our fitness and quality won out in the the end. If that’s going to be the story of the season, so be it.
