Shame that the extra supporters didn’t get to see a more entertaining game.

One thing the new owner has to look at though is the facilities of Glanford Park. The ground was 60% full and it felt like everything was at breaking point. Even Bromley at home felt a stretch and it was 40% full.

People were outside unable to buy food/drink an hour before kick off because of the ques.

Got to start maximising our earning potential; there is an abundance of space at Glanford Park.

Poor tonight; typical with a big crowd in.

Barnet to their credit looked a well oiled outfit, similar to Woking. We look miles behind them.

New keeper and centre back is a must. Owens’s going to be a good keeper but he’s just too young to be playing first team football, the centre backs are just not good enough full stop.

Gerry looked a handful and took his goal well, just a shame we couldn’t create more as hoofball was the order of the day.

On the positive, the new players that came on all enhanced the side. Ferris will be a success here- a proper winger. Ogle continues to impress also.

From where we were a few weeks ago, tonight was fantastic. 5,000 home fans whilst 23rd in the national league; great stuff.

Didn’t we have 8k at home playing Forest at home in league one too on a Friday?

Just seems to the case. Kick off time or it not eating into people’s weekend; I don’t know.

Wrexham at home in FA cup was well attended back in the early 00’s and Yeovil at home in 2006 was packed to the rafters and they opened up the away end.

Looking at current sales there could be 5k home fans there tonight. To put it into perspective, that’s more than there was for Rotherham at home in the league one play offs.

Great move by Turnbull. Going to be a much bigger crowd there tonight because of it being a Friday.

Nothing on paper stands out as particularly exciting. But, it’s more competition for places which we desperately need.

Disappointed not to have a centre back in as despite a good few last games, Boyce/Taft have been poor.

Keeper and a striker are still a necessity

Good interview from him released today.
Round pegs in round holes was the bit that did it for me- sounds easy but how many managers now have we watched trying to shoehorn players into their system and failing

    Not for me.

I wasn’t Deerey my message was spend, spend, spend, I do know what your saying and yes the new manager and players might turn out to be total shite but I don’t give a flying f at least their giving it ago, and remember it’s not your money. Legitimate why you have legitimate questions?

It wasn’t our money last time but we almost lost our club.

I’m on the same wavelength as you Deerey, excited for the future but will be questioning decisions along the way.

In terms of the new signings, I’ve heard one from chesterfield, loan from Forest and the Peterborough sports lad.

Nice piece of marketing by the club here. Already probably paid a month of the player’s wages by thinking outside the box a little.

Hilton’s been in charge for less than a week and already some are moaning. Nothing really changes.

You’ll Always get moaners and you’ll always get happy clappers.

Generally speaking, I’ve not seen the fanbase so energised for a long time as they were on Saturday. It felt like a totally different club and the ground was bouncing.

There’s a good interview with Bromley’s manager on YouTube which alludes to it and a few of their fans who were there said the crowd got us the point.

Now it’s not often you hear that about a Scunthorpe home game.

Good to see but I really want him off Twitter. There’s no middle ground in that place and he’d be better off sticking with official lines of communication.

Season ticket holders can bring a friend for a fiver. Need a crowd like yesterday to make as uncomfortable as we can for them.

    A striker wouldn’t go a miss either.

Elliot will be a good barometer for the new owner by what he does/doesn’t say in the upcoming months.

Timing wasn’t great and should have been told behind closed doors but Hilton has offered Nelson a proper contract in a more fixed position so least it gives him more security now. Nelson’s been here not even on a contract so least he’s still here in some capacity.

Let’s not hate on Hilton already. I thought it was a nice touch from Hilton in offering Nelson a proper contract and he’s keeping in contact with fans and letting us know.

Hilton from this early on is soon to have his manager and assistant in place…has offered Nelson a proper contract in a coaching role, will have cleared the HMRC tax bill and is willing to bankroll a considerable number of signings in a bid to keep us up.

Hilton’s not even been here a week yet !

No hating being done- the situation hasn’t been handled well and we’ll rightly scrutinise.

Positive is that Nelson has been offered a role; whether that works with a new gaffer and his team remains to be seen. I have my doubts.

Statement on Twitter now from Hilton stating a decision was not made at the time of his interview.

Appreciate the openness but constantly responding to supporters on Twitter won’t end well. Better off deleting the account and corresponding through the club channels.

Was even some singing in the main stand; really enjoyable atmosphere and the DRE were in fine voice.

1st half was excellent, Butterfield was just levels above everyone on the pitch but it’s a shame his legs can’t keep it going for a full 90. If we have a recognised striker we win that game today.

Can’t fault the effort from everybody though, they are fighting for the badge at the moment.

Feel sorry for Nelson, hope he gets a crack at it elsewhere. However, we need a fresh start. I expect there’s going to be some big changes.

I said he owns everything; however, the stadium is under Scunthorpe United LTD and the land may be under a different company that Hilton own. A company that will look to develop the land for the club’s benefit as he stated.

Like I said, I may well have interpreted it wrong, but it was something I picked up on.

Hilton bought the lot didn’t he, ground, stadium and surrounding land ?

    That’s what he claims anyway.

I may have interpreted it wrong, I got the impression he had bought the lot but the land was under a a different name and the stadium was under the clubs.

Enjoyed listening to it. Don’t want to hear any more about championship football and 12k stadiums; Work with what you’ve got any get the club operating on a stable footing again. We were pound for pound one of the best ran clubs for over a decade, so the model is there to learn from.

Interesting to note that it sounds like the land isn’t under the clubs name, I’d be intrigued to know what the plans are and how we can benefit from it.
