So Swann isn’t giving us GP back then, IIRC he said he would. I think he also said he wouldn’t charge the club rent until they could afford it, he’s surely not gone back on that as well.

Potentially that leaves 2 for whom Saturday’s result mattered against 11 that clearly thought it did.

Jimmy Dean tactically inept.. totally out his depth .. clueless
A game we needed to win so:-
– go 1 up front
DSF right and Wilson left working well so:-
– change them over
Need to use subs to change the game so:-
– go like for like
Motivation and innovation needed so:-
Where was it?Back to the 5 and Dime or Yaxley – your choice.

Is that Andrew Nally the owner of Ilkeston Town?

Thanks NI, that could explain it.
Good player if fit IMO.
Under contract till 2024 so would need a fee, 75 mins is fine for the class act you get.
According to a Hilton interview a few weeks ago only Chapman and Elliott are contracted beyond this season, the rest are “playing for contracts.”
Does anybody at the club know what is going on, conflicting information in so many areas, a bit of honesty/clarification wouldn’t go amiss!1 user thanked author for this post.
Would have been MOM if he’d buried that chance in the 2nd half.
1 st half was everything you wanted from jimbob second was everything you didn’t.
I think you’ve let the last 20 minutes of the first half cloud your judgement. I thought we were very poor for 25 minutes and then upped our game. I was hoping we’d continue that into the second half, the HT team talk must have been crap. I also doubt Billson’s time wasting tactics were his idea.
Just an opinion, for what it’s worth. My impression is that Hilton has bought the Club and was hoping the fans would buy the ground. There’s also the surrounding land to consider.
Forgot to mention some praise for Billson. Apart from a few dodgy kicks and being a bit slow at times from goal kicks and out of his hands I thought he had a cracking game. Good saves to get us a point and commanded his area better than most recent keepers.Probably our MOM?
I stopped watching the Iron for a couple of years – just a handful of games that sent me to sleep. Came back just before Jimmy Dean came in. All the games have been entertaining, even the game we lost at home.
Did you miss the County game bill?

I want to see our coaching set up in place over the summer and for the start of next year. Dean/Plummer/Nelson will know who’s worth keeping and who’s not
It will be easy for them when they only have those who want to stay to choose from.
His control is worse than his misses.
We probably should have signed her then!!

I think they counted the ones where we passed to Notts.

Stats from the game
Needs sending to Jimmy and all the players, I’m still not sure they realise just how bad it was. Would result in disciplinary action in most other jobs.

Saturday would suggest everybody except the players.
I don’t remember a Scunny player going into the Notts penalty area all game and many of them didn’t go into their half. I missed the shot as well. No long throws into the Notts box as we didn’t get close enough. Lucky plenty of tickets for Tuesday already sold, I doubt there will be much more demand.

How true, it’s happened so many times it’s predictable and depressing. No doubt we’ll “take the positives” out of today’s performance. Good luck with that, shouldn’t take long.
If they’d carried on clapping until half time would we have got a shot in?

I’ve watched football at all levels for over 60 years and can’t remember a more one sided game in all that time. Notts were good, no doubt about that, but we were pathetic, yes pathetic, lucky it wasn’t double figures. I can’t accept any excuses for a performance like that. We were fortunate that they have a 30+ goal striker that misses 3 chances out of 4, Bennett and Elliott can only dream about service like that.

A big concern for me is how our players cope with a big crowd. Very few of them will have experienced such an atmosphere, I hope they don’t freeze.
Looks a certainty. Hilton has said Chapman and Elliott are contracted for next season and the rest are playing for contracts. If they’re not playing here now then the chance of a contract for next season isn’t likely. Youngsters excepted of course. Looks like the end for Rowe, Taft, O’Malley and Hallam as well as Whitehouse. Daniel and Carver also at risk I’d say
I’ve seen nothing regarding Chapman’s fitness for Saturday. Anybody heard anything?
Fantastic piece of reporting!!
“Nottingham Forest starlet Billy Fewster has been sent back to Nottingham Forest and Scunthorpe boss Jimmy Dean has been explaining why.”
And then:-
“I won’t give my reasons on air because it’s not fair on him but it’s just one that didn’t work out.”Not much of an “explanation” then is it?
Heath was one of my favourites too, but they have got the right man in the middle!!
Hope he lasts longer than Fewster, still no confirmation he’s gone.
Looks promising and Jimmy’s choice it seems, although Derby’s not far from Ilkeston.Maybe looking at a switch to 4-1-3-2 or a 4-4-2 to play a more attacking style?
No I see him as better than Pugh and Shrimpton, he can tackle and he can pass. If you have good positional sense you don’t need to run around aimlessly chasing the ball. We all see different things in a game and opinions differ, if they didn’t there’d be b.. all to discuss on here.
