No room for attempts at humour any more then?
Not much to write about at the moment is there?2 users thanked author for this post.
Don’t take one part of my post to suit your agenda, read the whole thing. I did admit to being cynical.
Do you deny that this has happened previously?“Tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis, with priority given as follows:
Club Stooges (as many as we can find) with approved questions
1899 Members (one per member) – Priority window until Friday, May 12th at 4pm
2023-24 season ticket holders (one per holder) – Priority window until 10am on Wednesday, May 17th, subject to availability
General sale (one per person) – Should any tickets remain, these will be available from 10am on Wednesday, May 17th.”Sorry for being a cynical b*****d, recent years have scarred me.
Fair comment, I just never thought Wootton looked much when he was used properly. The decision to play Madden wide was bizarre to say the least but whatever happened to “I’ll play wherever the manager wants” as opposed to ” I’ll sulk if I don’t get what I want”?
Toney and Crooks – Ah let me reminisce for a moment – bliss!!I can only comment on what I saw whilst these players were at The Iron.
Watson – poor
KVV – mardy arse, deserved boos on occasions, brilliant on others
Jarvis – crock/donkey
Hackney – poor
Colclough – see KVV
Wootton – not good enough
Madden – see KVV
Why players are better pre-Scunny and post-Scunny (excl Watson) is the big question IMO.May 5, 2023 at 2:59 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261669Didn’t realise that L8 paid £40k p.a., thanks DM. I’m more of a £100 p.w. L1 maximimum sort of age.

May 5, 2023 at 9:02 am in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261651Even more unbelievable if that reported £1500 p.w. was right. Surely OTT for NLN.
WG – are you sure it wasn’t £150?May 4, 2023 at 7:13 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261618Probably Ogle unfortunately. I don’t think we’ve a great recent record of keeping our Player of the Season if memory serves.

Sell on fair enough, can’t see anywhere near 6 figures though.
Will any of those think there’s anything to be gained playing a NLN team?
May 2, 2023 at 11:15 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261527Mussy nails every keeper to his line, sorry to say, time he was binned. Foster will never progress with him coaching.

Calm down, he’s found his level.
May 2, 2023 at 3:08 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261497Give over. He was poor when he came back last time and is a few years older now so certainly no quicker or better. Remember him for the good times.
As for Turnbull giving names to Jimmy that he’s never heard of, probably they’re players of a higher standard than NLN which is where Jimmy’s player knowledge is based sadly.May 1, 2023 at 8:00 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261471CBRP wrote:-
“The coaching aspect is a good point. We’ve had players look utter dross or bang average and go on to significantly improve elsewhere?”It’s not only the fact that ex-players improve elsewhere. For example – anybody remember how good Taft was when he came?

Strange though, as Simon seems to have been frozen out by DH. Not shirt sponsor next season.

May 1, 2023 at 9:08 am in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261400One of the most frustrating things for me les. We have players lacking ability and we have to accept that, blame the recruitment and question their selection. But players that have the skills to play at NL level and higher but choose to show that ability all too rarely I just don’t understand. Can we send them to the steelworks for a week of nights to show them how lucky they are (and what’s in the pay packet) or is that not allowed.

We have enough anonymous MFs. Let The Cods have him and get somebody in that you can see affecting the game. (Not the way Pugh does though)

Yes, it’s an age thing. What day is it?
TBF I did remember I’d said it before so some bits are still working.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 30, 2023 at 11:51 am in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261355He claimed they didn’t listen to him and there was no difference between part time footballers and full time (only on a Tuesday). To his credit he apologised for not being good enough but if we start poorly again with his players its not a done deal that we’ve finished dropping
I’ve said before that IMO the players have little or no respect for Dean. All of them, even the youngsters, have been FT professionals for longer than Dean and clearly think they know better. Maybe they do and that’s why they don’t listen.

Plummer post match:-
“a few of the lads have been carrying knocks and injuries. Now is the time for them all to recuperate and get ready to come back for pre-season at the end of June.”“them all” “come back” – bloody hell I hope not!!

Can he be that good though? If we’ve been watching him for that long why didn’t we sign him in an effort to stay up?

Can we get Whitehouse back or doesn’t Jimmy rate him?1 user thanked author for this post.
Punctuation helps.
Or 24 if he’s the real deal?

Another day off for an opposition keeper.
They could be a league above us next season though.
Players – mostly no!!
I like the idea of Performance Related Pay for players, that would sort out what we’ve been served up lately. -
