You can play 6 up front. If you’re going to piss around at the back, let the opposition walk back into their formation and then pump the ball into empty space makes no odds. The only thing Dean has left to hang onto is possession stats, and even that drops when Beestin enters the pitch

I’m no statistician but I reckon Clunan has a 100% pass success rate. Sounds good until you notice that he only passes to Ogle, Boyce, Kouogan, Evans, Denton, Kelly and sometimes Fitz. I don’t know how successful he is passing forwards as I’ve nothing to base that on.

Let’s face it would you be bothered if your not offered a new contract when top going into the New Year, players and or the manager, yes we have a club but other than that what positivity has come from Michelle regarding this season or the next I can’t think of anything.

I seem to remember a lack of contract activity in January had a similar, disastrous effect a few years ago. Could this be a repeat? The ‘contracted next season’ players seem comfortable on their apparent excessive wage and of the OOCs only a couple look like they’re playing for a contract here or anywhere else. Surely they should be busting a gut to get noticed, hard to think many, if any, of them will be moving upwards, their best chance of that is with us.

He’s still struggling to find how to get the best out of Elliott! Wide left, lone striker and bench haven’t worked so far.

I haven’t heard a no bonus story. Just the one where the players are on £50k for promotion, recent displays make this sound ridiculous. Never understood why doing your job merits a bonus, your own pride should ensure that. Doing your job well, ‘above and beyond’ is a different matter. Precious little sign of that lately!!

    Do you mean this?
“Jimmy and Lee should have a decent knowledge of NLN players and their ability by the end of the season. That will surely be the pond we’re fishing in.”
    or this
“Butt, But, Butt, But, Butt, But?”

Me!! I’d like some examples of that. To remind you here are my most recent posts on the manager:-
Most of the squad have experience above the level of JD, if half of them follow JD’s game plan (if there is one)
Management team – Are they? Were they there?? Were they watching???
Over to you Jimmy, Chris, Andy and Mussy – no more empty words, ACTION!!

No point! If he’s on the right and gets crosses in it’s unlikely an Iron player will win the header. If he’s on the left and cuts inside to shoot we’ve much more chance of a goal IMO.

But will any potential buyers be willing and able to match their current (apparently generous) wages bearing in mind the level they’re likely to be playing?

I think that contracted for next season are:-
Whitehall, Kelly, Fitzsimons, Kouogan, Roberts and Law.
I hope a few of the others can be retained on reduced terms, realistically how many will be in demand at a level above NL and NLN. A couple of the contracted players might be saleable and could possibly raise funds and be replaced by cheaper (and likely inferior) players.

Surely sponsorship of a NL team will cost more than NLN and, if what we read is correct, the players are already on NL (and above) wages.

If only Pugh could pass like Butterfield. Still he’ll run around more and get booked to show he’s putting in 100%.

Or are refs like that the way to stop thuggery and skulduggery and encourage better football? If more penalties were given for blatant shirt pulling in the box then players would stop doing it. Also not a fan of ‘fouls’ that are not fouls in the box but are anywhere else on the pitch.

5277 attendees for Tamworth of which 249 were from Tamworth.
3285 for today against Rushall of which 27 were from Rushall.
I make that 1716 who didn’t turn up today. You really need to stop making things up CMC.

It could have been worse. How many that turned up yesterday, apart from ST holders, had already bought their ticket before Tuesday?

I’m not a fan of booing my team but significant numbers yesterday showed what they thought of the first half and it’s hard to be critical of their actions. A combination of the woodwork, good saves and woeful finishing somehow kept us level at the break. Would the crowd reaction and Jimmy’s half time team talk spur the players in to life? Would they ****! What is wrong with these lads? They’re good players, largely too good for this level they’ve shown us that. We were lucky yesterday and these performances need sorting and quickly. Do they not respect / like playing for Jimbob / understand what he’s on about / understand the game plan?

Possibly the reason for recent performances. Most of the squad have experience above the level of JD, if half of them follow JD’s game plan (if there is one) and the others think they know better and do their own thing there’s little wonder we look disjointed.

So, here we are again! Big game, big build up, big crowd and the mighty Iron come up with a dire performance. How many times have we seen that over the years, I thought it was Tamworth who were supposed to be overawed by the occasion. Outplayed by a team short on skill but big on energy and enthusiasm, they can even afford to carry a luxury player who doesn’t kick the ball much but throws it a long way. Maybe not fair to comment on individuals but I’m going to do it anyway.
Fitzsimons – kept us in the game, distribution (with the odd exception) was outstanding, why can’t the outfield players pass like that?
    Ogle – top notch
Clunan – offers nothing going forward
Scales – worst game in an Iron shirt
Butterfield – showed in flashes but not enough, why has he stopped shooting?
Beestin – not fit or not bothered, you decide.
Elliott – can’t hold the ball up and looks like he’s forgotten how to score.
Wilson – 10 for effort but no end product.
The rest – average (generous in some cases)
Management team – Are they? Were they there?? Were they watching??? Mussy was impressive on the 4th officials’ board though.
Looks like being a long ‘rest of season’.

We’ll let go the OOCs that won’t accept reduced terms. I still think reduced terms here will be competitive enough to keep at least some, depends what league we’re in I suppose. With the exception of Butters, Roberts and maybe Fitz and Ogle there’s unlikely to be much interest higher than NL.

So they’ve lost Jellis, who was injured and probably wouldn’t have played anyway.
We’ve gained Butterfield and Whitehall but lost Roberts so not much gained from the postponement really.
