It needed repair that was certain, what was lacking was the inclination to make the necessary ‘repairs’. That seems to have been overcome. (I hope)
I enjoyed that first half more than anything I’ve seen for ages.

I adored Clunan when he arrived. His play then sagged but he was looking pretty decent again by the end of the season.
He sagged this season when we fell into the ‘mustn’t correct the faults scenario’.
We finally set up a more intelligent playing system. Lo and behold, he starts looking like the great player he can be.

I don’t think there are any “great” players in NLN les. Steady on.

It seems that Butler (or the board) thinks he has enough, 2 or 3 senior players don’t make the match day squad. We’ve been lucky with injuries and suspensions xso far and hopefully that continues. Unless we have departures or a 1 for 1 swap I can’t see any incomings.

No loss IMO, Harris brought little or nothing to the team. Won’t be hard to replace from within.

I think he’ll be OOC in the summer and be able to leave for nothing. It’s difficult to see any club below L1 being able to match his ‘estimated inflated’ (for NLN) wages. Can we/will we seek to match any offer from L2 or NL to try and keep him? A better chance if we’re in NL you’d think.

So you would deny a player the opportunity to play at a higher level? A level that his undoubted talent deserves.
Benefits to the club being a reduction in weekly salary and a welcome cash boost. I don’t want to lose him either but it’s win/win for player and club IMO and, in Williams, we’ve already got his replacement. Permanent contract offer ready for the expected eventuality I’d guess.

Clunan lol,he’s supposed to dictate games so I hear

He did it superbly, didn’t you see him pointing to where people should run/pass. His dialogue with the ref. was also first class, what more do you want? Goals?

“Callum Roberts returns to the squad, but only makes the bench having not trained following illness”
“Alfie Beestin misses out through injury, Tyler Denton returns following his lay-off”

Good info. but why is Brogan not in the squad?

No they were utter shite and so his Beck.
You would not put money on a donkey over a racehorse at Aintree, so why defend players who are simply not good enough.

Check his record, he can play and he can score. The problem is that him and Butler play different games. Beck can’t change his, Butler can.

We failed to maximise the talents of Elliott last year and look like doing the same with Beck. He has significant strengths at NLN level which we need to use, perhaps he might be tried wide right next game, after all Evans, Denton, Brogan and Whitehall have all been victims of bizarre selections.

If every pass to Messi was 8 feet high he wouldn’t show much I reckon. Signing a tall target man when you don’t play wingers is baffling.

People in various jobs in all walks of life are put under pressure at work if they’re not performing well enough. There is a simple solution to ease the pressure and I’m hoping that’s what will happen.

    He’s a goal scorer.
    Banjo Beck isn’t.
When Whitehall & Roberts move on, who’s going to score for us?

    Not Declan Howe.
