Well the forward won’t be Alone he’sjust signed for Exeter on loan, would have liked him.

We’ve already got Loft ‘Alone’ though.

It seems this loan has done more harm than good and is likely to be a contributary factor to any failings this season.
Perhaps clubs who didn’t take it read the small print!

It could well be cited as the main reason for this seasons failure, we can’t continue to use Covid can we?

We needed a complete rebuild with 10 or more in to replace the 20 out. Whilst that has happened to a degree there were priority areas to be addressed. Two of those were experienced ‘keeper and a regular scorer IIRC. It would seem that the (insert perceived culprit here) didn’t agree and therefore it’s reasonable to question their ability to do the job required.

To give WAtson the cover he needs Balme would have to be playing alongside him!

This is the bloke who on Friday night’s podcast was asking the supporters to come along and buy food and drink and spend money in the club shop.
Yet UTI99 reckons none of that matters and we should just turn up, watch and sod off home without buy a foot-long and trying to hold it it after sinking a couple of pints somewhere other than the Iron Bar.
A bit out of sync with your boss aren’t you?

But that would make you a customer surely! For some reason UTI99 doesn’t want those – bizarre!!

    Fans not customers!
Guess this level of loyalty is reflective of today’s society.

OK so you want fans not customers so how do we attract the fans?
Sh1te football, filthy stadium, excessive parking charges, poor refreshment options, little or no ‘fan’ engagement because that’s what we’ve got. How would you suggest we tackle this to get rid of the customers and attract the fans.

That explains the problem then UTI99, if the chairman’s main interest is customers, as he has at his entertainment venues, rather than fans. He appears to have little interest in fans and their needs and if, as you suggest, fans are what he should expect at the SVS then there’s no need to prepare an attractive and acceptable venue is there.

Agree with BRI, Watson has not grasped the principal that if you can’t hold a shot then you don’t push the ball back into the centre of the penalty area, he’s done it time after time and it usually costs us a goal. Hasn’t the GK coach spotted this yet or is Watson not listening?

It’s understandable that after being empty for 18 months the stadium has become a little grubby. However with plenty of notice of when the ground would be used again this state of affairs is totally unacceptable. Who is responsible SUFC or Cool Silk? Amounts to the same thing really doesn’t it.

Same old dross today im just glad i didnt waste more money watching it.
I think signing an experienced keeper was a must i personally would have got joe murphy back for another year or two hes someone who commands the back four.
A right back is needed because pugh is just another hornshaw i feel but yet the club see different somehow then even play him out of position.
We also need a pacey winger and a poacher type of striker who can play off loft.
Teams dont have to come and work hard for the 3 points we make it so easy for them.
Swindon have quality where it counts and in anthony grant and jack payne they are far better than our shambles.

Interesting comments from somebody who admits he didn’t watch the game. Can I ask what you are basing those opinions on?

There’ll be complaints for certain but I’d be amazed if ALL fans wouldn’t be happy with any sort of win.

Combination of much of the above.
Pugh has done enough to get the nod for me.
Onoriase is 100% fit, Davis isn’t.
    O’Malley/Thompson – toss a coin.
Kenyon (c) before Perry who again might not be 100%
Hallam might just sneak a start over O’Neill.

    Billson
    Pugh Onariase Taft O’Malley
    Bunn Beestin Kenyon Green
    Hallam Loft

Watson, Rowe, Davis, Thompson, Perry, Wilson, O’Neill

The responsibility for signings is a matter of opinion, mine is above. Regarding KVV did you miss the bit where he came back because Northampton failed to pay up. We have had signings in recent years that a succession of managers didn’t fancy, who was responsible for them?

The big improvement for me has been the type of player recruited compared to last summer. It would appear (and, yes appearances can be deceptive) that the manager has had significant input into the selection and we’ve ended up with players far better suited to the job in hand. Agree we’re still short of a scorer and maybe one other.

If the ‘savings’ go as low as buying half as much, lower quality grass seed then there are hard times ahead for certain.

If we don’t have anybody likely to score regularly, and at the moment it looks like we haven’t, then the managers tactical options could be very limited.

They must have a shocking defence then, the same article says they’ve lost their 3 pre-season games to non-league teams.

I think the chairman might have learned a lesson re sacking managers every few months as it hasn’t worked for him. He would have had every justification had he sacked Cox last season but he chose not to. A possible indication that he is to be given time in the job maybe, but he’s going to have to better last season by some way to be certain of staying. He couldn’t build anything with the box of assorted Lego he was presented with, this time it seems he’s been allowed to pick his own bricks, hopefully they fit together into something closely resembling a football team.

I think we all have our own opinions on that NI, maybe 98% of them very similar. Personally I’m much happier with the recruitment style this year. It would appear that the manager has had far more input than previously. No marquee signings but some solid performers at L2 level which were clearly needed, get the right keeper in and I might even become optimistic.
