Think we could and should have scored about 4 from set pieces today…Gilliead and O’Malley’s delivery was top notch.
Green needs to stay in the team and get a decent run, he’s rapid and will have the beating of most fullbacks in this league.
Karacan and Beestin looks a perfect combo. I like Spence but he doesn’t displace either of those two.
O’Malley > Brown.
Loft looked fairly decent today with a partner who was actually by his side. I don’t usually like Eisa through the middle but he was very good today.
4-4-2 merchants very much vindicated. Hopefully Cox learns from this and keeps it up!

I’ll be watching as I have done all season as I have a season pass. I used to be really nervous/anxious when watching games but after last season and this I literally don’t care anymore. If we concede and lose to the likes of Barrow it’s more of a wry smirk and sarcastic laugh that comes out of me now, rather than the pure anger/disappointment that it used to be. Which is quite nice as my weekends are no longer ruined when we lose, it’s just expected.
Well Swanny did confirm that we’re getting a new striker…and his name is Kevin Van Veen. Doubt he’ll be ready for this weekend though.
I think you’ll find NI’s tongue is firmly in his cheek.
Yeah apparently there are no decent sides in League 2 and you can’t play football on these pitches. No Peter, we’re just shit and other teams are much better than us!
After this weekend we could find ourselves in the bottom two and I’d have my money on us not getting back out of it.

We all know the reasons why we are where we are:
Shit decision making at the top.
Shit manager.
Shit coaches.
Shit players. It really is as simple as that. We don’t need Swann to tell us, he can keep spouting “Covid” and “no pre season” as much as he wants. He’s only making himself look even more deluded.
The amount of times Covid was used as an excuse…nearly threw my effing phone out the window!!
And then to top it all off he thought Jarvis was just starting to show us what he was made of and ‘working the channels really well’. You couldn’t make it up!

Come on now, we know what will happen if he did get the boot…it’d just be Wilcox again until the end of the season and thus the cycle continues.
Would any of your family members still be inclined to refer to fans who thought relegation was a distinct possibility as morons?
Who’s had the biggest influence in turning us from a team challenging in the League 1 playoffs to a team fighting for their Football League survival? You? The (many) managers? The players?
Definitely the worst team in my lifetime…and by quite some margin!
Cox needs to go, we’re going down without a fight and with zero strikers on the pitch whilst one nil down against a relegation rival! It really is embarrassing.
Maybe it was planned they’d play a half each?
Agree with the above in that there’s no need to have both Spence and Karacan on the same pitch. Replace one of them with McAtee or Eisa and throw them up close to Loft.
This team really have no idea what they’re doing, it’s so difficult to watch.
January 13, 2021 at 3:27 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #200790You can hear what I assume is Lillis’ input on the highlights from last night!
That screaming banshee you can hear every game would be Mr. Cox.
Not the worst half in the world and we’ve played some fairly decent stuff, not really carved out a clear cut chance yet though. Fingers crossed one bounces in off of someone’s knee/shoulder/whatever and we grind out a win.
Would much rather have him than Loft, Turan, Jarvis and Mooney combined.
I wouldn’t class Butroid as adequate LB cover let alone CB!!
Don’t be surprised if you see three at the back tomorrow.
From what I’ve seen Cambridge fans have nothing but good words for him. Let’s hope he hits the ground running as we sure do need a boost right about now!
Always looked a top player for Reading but that was a long time ago. Let’s hope he hits the ground running!
We are absolute dog shit! We have a goalkeeper who can’t even stick out his arm to attempt a save, fullbacks that can’t stop crosses, centre backs that can’t tackle, midfielders that can’t sttring two passes together, wingers that can’t cross and a striker who is one of the worst footballers I’ve ever seen in professional football! The only way is down with this lot.
Taylor at least a 7 for me. Nobody less than a 6.
Where’s his Billy big wig attitude even come from? Before signing for us he had made one professional appearance. Since then he’s scored what, 4 league goals? Wow, keep up the exceptional work Macca!
It can happen…I don’t think I had a single good word to say about Sam Johnstone when he was with us but he’s probably an 8 figure sum goalkeeper now!
This is nothing new, his pass completion over the past 2 seasons is 37%. Only goalkeepers have worse in the entire football league. Yet because he “puts himself about a bit” some stick up for him on here…madness!
He’s the worst striker I’ve ever seen play more than 10 games for us. Supposed to be the focal point of attacks but unfortunately is officially the worst passer of a football in the Football League (look up completed pass % for the past two seasons, only goalkeepers are worse).
Grimsby are awful…but embarrassingly we’re worse! What an awful game.
Anything will be an improvement compared to our last embarrassing outing against them! Really hoping for a win but can see a turgid draw playing out.
I was no fan of Wootton but he is better than Loft.
